Hi Mick I have just taking up airbrushing and as a portrait graphite artist I thought I would have a go at airbrushing the skill you show with your airbrushing is first class and I hope I can follow your examples and skills mate.
Hey Mick, This Donald Sutherlan portrait video set, Is Very informative and worth every second of time it takes to watch all of them. You may not have hundreds of videos posted, but what you have up so far is full of great information. I started learning ( self taught ) 6 years ago, had about 1 1/4 years in it and had to give it up. Now I'm starting all over again and your videos have helped me get back into it and I've learned a lot... Thank you. Keep up the great teaching.
Hey Mick, this tutorial is for me the most astonishing and most informative work I've ever seen. Please keep up your channel and I want to thank you so much for be a part having knowledge in your practice and your amazing skills. Stay safe and give it a go ....thanks a lot 👍🤘
Mick, What can I say but "incredible" and "thank you so very much!" I am sure this was a massive undertaking on your part. Thank you for sharing not only your incredible skill but your resourcefulness and great aptitude for teaching with us! You really are amazing and also very generous to share all of this with us. I have purchased a portrait video of a highly renowned American artist who didn't nearly show you skill level, resourcefulness or teaching prowess! This guy even has his own signature paint set and I do respect him but, you sir, are extraordinary! I have not seen any videos for sale by you. If you have any please let me know so I can purchase them from you. I will be anxiously awaiting your next lessons for us! All the best to you! Jay
Jay McCaughtry wow, a massive thank you for your support buddy, I have some DVDs on the back burner for late this year hopefully to the same standard, as long as people watch them ill keep posting em Thanks again Mick
THANK YOU for the time and effort I can truly say for a self taught person I cannot get to a getaway or class because of adult responsibilities so any time someone is willing to explain realistic portrait technics I am grateful I have purchased several videos and have been happy with those but can say this one tutorial was so informative I am very overimpressed look forward to see more texture videos from you.... Thank you again your very ausome for doing this with your time
Nice one Mick. Looking forward to having a bash at this. Got some synthetic paper coming tomorrow, hope it's the right stuff, if not the bin man's due on Wednesday
Like many here, I'm a noob to airbrushing. Your videos are awesome. You are an amazing artist and teacher! So many tips and tricks and it looks so life like. I've been sketching most of my life but I've always had trouble with painting because I've never been able to match colors or fade correctly. I've never seen anyone explain mixing paints and how to cancel out a color and shift hues. That little bit of information completely changed my painting ability! I can't thank you enough for that. As far as your finished painting, it's almost perfect. I only see one flaw. His head is turned slightly to the left but the highlights on his nose makes it look like his nose is facing forward. The highlight on the tip of the nose should be shifted about 1/16 to 1/8 inch to the left. If I had finished a painting and noticed something like that, how should I go about fixing it? I want to make clear that I'm nowhere near as good as you even in my sketches. You are amazing ! It's just something I noticed so please don't be offended.
Thanks Mick for an amazing journey through this from the beginning it's been amazing I have only just got myself an airbrush and compressor I'm a total noob and I've watched most of your videos now I have practised dagger strokes lines and dots but I'm struggling with getting an even atomization down I don't know if it's mainly trigger control or my paint or psi or all of them
westmc45 the blue eraser is a Lyrato pencil eraser, I dont think they are produced anymore but there seems to be a few about on ebay and the odd art shop
