I hope you do lots more of these 15 min paintings. I watched this three times, printed out a reference then went to work. I published the result on Facebook and the reactions have been second to none. So far, I had only painted leaves & fire, both from stencils. When I started this, I did so with total abandon - no more hangups and the result is 'Fantastic', 'Awesome', etc. You make it look so easy and, it wasn't difficult at all. Seeing how easily you did the moon beams sold me on giving it a try. Thank you for improving my artwork so effortlessly.
Too dificult for me. I have made a total mess several times. Your picture is very good, well it's brilliant, but 'keeping it simple' is what it is - if you've been doing this for a long time. I was inspired and disappointed all at the same time. So I gave up.
Does anyone know where I can get this stancil these days, Even if I have to cut myself. My 11 year son is learning airbrush and I would really like to work through this with him. Thanks
Hey Mick...firstly, awesome work and tutorials..the best bar none..to the point and accurate! Im an artist using acrylics, oils and watercolours and getting back into airbrushing. My main question is on substrates... Im into portraits so am wanting a surface I can scratch when needed. Looked at all options, gesso and acrylics and canvas with gesso and on and on. I want to do portraits from 500mm x 800mm to very large,,say 3 feet x 6 foot. Am looking for surfaces I can paint straight onto or prep many at once and a smooth surface. any ideas on this.??Once again great content,,thank you so much. Mark ..New Zealand
I’m a amateur airbrush artist and sometimes it just seems I can’t get anything to work if it’s not the paint flow it’s the air pressure if not that I get a clog but your videos are amazing I love all your instructions ! you make it look so easy like when you did the VALEK painting of the evil nun that was amazing what advice would you give to a struggling airbrush artist ! Thank you for your time Forever your student Marc ( aka EL PADRE PAINTINGS)
I see the tree branches and moon created a washed out skull that the ghostly figure is walking towards. The nose area is under the scythe and jaw area is by sgiwdow of ghostly and tree
This video was amazing and inspiring for me. I mainly do ornate metalwork and tool making but just picked up airbrushing to compliment some of my designs. You make it look so effortless that I am not intimidated to give this a go. Thank you for sharing your skills.
As I am new to air brushing. this was interesting to watch. the only one thing that was missing from this. for me it was the settings for the airbrush itself.
Is it just me or is the majority of Air brushing mainly consists of tracing? Except for the calligraphy and monograming, it's mainly stenciling? ( Tracing others art cut outs? I watched.about 6 vids on it so far and I see a common theme
No it’s not, if you can draw, you can use the airbrush as a pencil, as a paint brush, as spray paint, and much much more, stencils are for helping to get a good wrist muscle memory, like playing a video game for the first time and learning combos on buttons and pads, cheers mate!!
Great tutorial, I tried to airbrush blonde by painting the hair with burnt Umber, and tinting it with yellow, but it didn't look blonde, what should I tint with to get blonde?
