I wonder how a reversed pellet would do in a rifle like that. worked great in Daisy 880. So much more damage to any target. Living or standard targets.
Good timing on the Walther LGU as I'm just now shopping for another springer air rifle, but I do want an under lever model. I bought a Terrus earlier, and am totally impressed with that rifles build quality and shooting accuracy, ( as long as I can keep up,...which is half the fun) It would seem , so far, that Walther is a name I can buy with confidence. That was good shooting in the first portion of this week's video,..thanks for this one Mat.
Recently new subscriber, and I have to say keep up the great work. Content is great. The video quality is excellent. You do a great job on telling everyone what is happening. And the editing is superb. I love that fact that you are not scared to say things like they are. I love the fact that even though you live in a country where access to firearms is WAY different than here in the US. Some of the comments made in the videos, frankly are nothing more than unproductive. I will never understand why if someone is NOT a fan of a certain activity why they even watch the videos. Either way keep up the great work. There are many people who enjoy your videos.
Dear sir.. I using .177 PCP air rifle velocity is 850fps so *jsb 10.34 grain pellets* 20 or 30 to 40 metar distance *rabbit Hunting* cen be possible? Please reply 🤔 ? !...
Love your shows like crazy but there is one thing that could make it, give viewers the slow motion, close up impact shot. OMG that would be the icing on the cake.
Here in America we have ticks and things we call chiggers. Nasty little almost microscopic bugs that burrow I to the skin and itch horrible. Are ticks and such an issue across the pond? Just curious.
A knowledge of guns even air guns is good to have teaches you to actually get out there And Hike and Hunt We Humans gotta Eat I Love my New Found Home Texas 😍
I’ve hunted all my life but there’s one animal I could never kill. Rabbits. I see them all the time. I just think they are so lovable if you happen to catch one and keep it for a day or two and release it. I would never shoot one.
They dig holes in pasteur fields that horses and cows step into and break their legs. If you've had to put your horse down because of a rabbit hole, yeah they're cute, but they're also pests.
Always a pleasure to watch the show. Such a shame that not everyone appreciates the time and effort that go into making it. I don't find the product placement too intrusive. It is part of the modern world that we have to accept or we wouldn't have a show to watch! I like the LGU but I already have a (23 year old) TX200 that still produces groups like that at 30 metres so I don't need one. I'd still like one though. Any chance of a review of the Kral NP02 any time soon. Looks interesting, very compact. Thanks again Matt for an enjoyable video.
Thanks very much, Mitchell. Yes, the show has to be commercial for us to commit the time and effort that we put into it. I'm glad you appreciate that. The LGU was great to shoot. I also had a TX200 for a long time - brilliant gun. All the best. Mat
Hi Mat, please could you tell me what pellet you recommend for rabbit and squirrel in .22 and 1.77 sub 12ft lbs? Really enjoy your videos, informative, humane and respectful, thankyou.
Do you eat the squirels or what are they good for? (: Channels like these have motivated to get an airgun for my backyard orange thieving squirels 😊 thanks in advance
Indeed Mats Daystate Mk4 is FAC rated and I believe its around the 38ft.lb The Huntsman Regal is a superb airgun and Mat sometimes uses his own sub 12ft.lb on the show. Eps #2 has a review and Eps. #35 has Mat using his around the farm. search for "farmyard pest shoot" /simon
What happen to the animals after being shot? Rabbit's meat is delicious if we season it with herbs and spicy stuff, fried in mild heat. Squirrel's meat is no less nutritious provided that you know the right ingredients to go with its tough flesh. Hunting these small mammals, is not as challenging as the big game with sizeable creatures. Mat knows the trade well.
Very enjoyable episode Mat, nice to see you ambushing rabbit, I've been doing the same and some days are fruitful whilst others are sadly not. That Walther has come dangerously close to me re-evaluating my want for an AA Pro Sport, and the Walther LGU Underlever also comes with a very nice beech stock that puts the price under £400. what's not to like?. /simon
U gotta be careful hunting rabbits and squirrels, if you miss your shot or only injure them, they’ll become enraged and charge at you. Many have been mauled to death by gangs of squirrels and rabbits when they miss their shot or stay in one place too long and the animals realize he’s there and plan their attack. They’ve been known to use many of the same boogie traps that the Vietcong used in the Vietnam war. Dangerous game, be prepared and have a backup weapon and first aid kit.
I did ask a question on a previous video about an article in airgun shooter 109 about smells if you take the precautions you suggest won t all that hard work be for nothing because of the smell of the oil used on the gun I use Brownings Legia spray and it does leave a lingering smell
Hi Matthew. That is a really good point, and certainly one worth considering. I would go as far as to change to another oil if the smell is really noticeable. I use Parker Hale Gun Oil most of the time, and it doesn't have much of an odour. All the best. Mat
The LGU looks good but the recoil looks harder than your claim. I have a LGV with a recoil that allows a pellet in the top turret to only move about 1 mm when the gun is fired. Can the LGU do that?
I'll try that test next time I have a chance. What I can say is that the recoil was much less than I expected - no more than my Air Arms Pro Sport. All the best. Mat
