"Over the frick'n pin". The most simple fix. Thanks Al. I appreciate your videos and time on the phone with me. When I originally got my machine I took photos of how it was set up so I could replicate the threading. I went back to that photo just now and it wasn't threaded over the pin, so I've been sewing with it that way for almost 6 months. I believe this has fixed my problem. Thanks again Al!
I have a Cowboy Cobra class 26 and can do basic stitching with good results with one exception: when sewing lighter weight leather (two pieces of 3-4 oz), which requires a significant adjustment to the thread and possibly the bobbin tension. The only video I have found on this is for a non-industrial machine that has a simple adjustment wheel with a numbered index. Not very useful for industrial machines. There has to be a repeatable method for making these adjustments reliably. Do you know of such a video? or can you make one?
I took my class 26 tension apparatus apart just like you did but that little pin on mine does not move when I raise on the pressure foot. Is there a reason why it doesn’t
I have only had this machine about a week and a half. I got it from Springfield leather. After all in it again and testing it the tension on my thread is still tight when I raise the pressure foot. I took all the tension spring and this back off to see if that little pin moves in. It is loose and come out on my magnetic screwdriver that I was trying to push it in with. Is this a defect in the machine
@@nealmclain6316 no that is not a defect. Make sure that your parts are installed in the proper order. And make sure that the split washer is intact and flat sometimes they get bent and stop working if yours is not flat contact the leather machine company in the will probably send you a replacement.
