Bat cave was loaded with Burrough's B-205 computers. Had to be a slew of light chasers arrays. I recall reading about they used a stepper motor or gearing system with contacts wired in different banks of the 192 #47 bulbs to creating the blinking.
Batman and Robin were far ahead of everyone else, they could use a computer without a screen or a mouse! I guess that's why they were and are the Dynamic Duo!
Now I know why Robin is wearing leggin's. If I had to slide down the Batpole, & the Batboat pole. I'd be wearing them too, so as not to get a friction burn!
Why wasn't it a bat-a-maran but then again, the speed boat powered by a bat -turbine (hear the sound in the background) is much cooler! Wish they would have done a pre launch check like the bat -mobile....and put on bat -preservers!
Hey fellow Batman fans were you a kid growing up in the 60's and did you see the premiere of the Batman movie at your local drive in theater of course after the Bugs Bunny cartoon and weren't those plastic Batman rings cool we got when our father pulled up to thr ticket stand what a great time to be a kid!
If a US Navy submarine had seen the Penguin's pre-atomic submarine, the US Navy captain would order his crew to stop the Penguin and his crew, and they would have helped Batman & Robin in their capture.
another fun fact, Burt Ward nearly got killed driving with the stuntman in the batmobile, they took a hard turn and the door swung open, he grabbed the gear stick to hand on and screwed his hand up pretty bad, he often went to the hospital in that show as he did a lot of his stunts.
The same pier location that the "BATMAN" movie (1966) was filmed at, for the Bat Boat scene, was later used on CBS's "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN" in the 1977 episode, "The Bermuda Triangle Crisis", that was directed by Seymour Robbie.
The "Computer" 😂 and how Robin use it with not coordinated typing. Again this the TOS Star Trek computers in the 60ties looks very professional even it was made by woods and christmas lights. I love this cult trash series of 60ties Batman, so funny. Thanks alot for uploading. Best regards from Austria 🇦🇹
As a six year old in 1966 my Dad took me to see the NY National boat show at the NY Collosseum in NYC. The BAT BOAT was there and on display. So cool as a six year old looking at that boat. Later in life I discovered it was just a factory 17 ft Glasston with all kinds of faje gadgets, lights, and fiberglass moulds added. But for one night in 1966 I believed.
1- We have a ladder and a stairway. Nope , we still need a Batpole. 2- It looked like that pier had its own batcave to the right. 3- they had that red police light in between them, in case they needed other boats to get out of their way or pull over. 4-If they didn’t have those little signs on everything, we wouldn’t know what the hell they were working on. 5-Robin’s gloved hand mashing, works great on that computer. 6- Dr. Evil totally ripped off the submarine idea from this film. 7- I wish computers still went “DING” when they gave you an answer. 8- Jim Rockford probably watched them take off from his beach trailer. 9- I like the unspoken communication between them. Batman jumps into the driver seat and fires her up. Robin undies the two lines tying it to the dock, without even being told. 10- They probably keep the Batboat in the water at all times, because Batman sucks at backing the Batmobile up, with the BatTrailer attached to the Bathitch.
Don't want to stir up anything but who was the bravest super hero? My vote would be Bat man. WHY? Because he ain't Super. Must be a chore getting cojones that big in those tights. 😳
I have to admit, I like both the Batmobile and the Batboat. Both mean business. That’s why I could never stand the campiness of this series and movie. I think the goofiness undermined this show. That’s why we got more serious movies and series in the 80s and 90s.
To be fair, the series was very faithful to the "New Look" Silver Age Batman titles of the time c. 1964-68. William Dozier and Howie Horwitz adapted some comic book stories for the series.
@@dalethelander3781 Some of the storylines made good sense and showed promise. The first two or three episodes weren’t too bad. I’m sorry they didn’t try to play it straight, though.
@@waltertomaszewski1083 The second season took a few wacky turns, the first season was pretty solid. Personally, I think "Hi Didfle Riddle/Smack In The Middle" is an excellent opening, considering that it had money (the largest budget for a 1-hour pilot up to that time) and plenty of time to tweak it in post for the test audiences and for airing. "The Joker Is Wild/Batman is Riled" Whereas, you can see the cost-cutting in the second season and the third...WHEW!
