I use lvlp 1.4 tip the black lvlp you showed us I like that spray gun I use the 1.7 it comes with for primer I have multiples of that spray gun! My favorite .
Wetting the floor the way to go Chris myself i just lay don plastic but of course you are doing more work then me and great work that is cheers so much makes my day when a see a new clip up Phil from Australia.
I'm using the Devilbiss DV1 S with a 1.0mm for base and then the 1.2mm for the clear and wow it puts out great results. I love your show, keep up the great work.
I have this gun as well as a PHS-155 1.8mm. I have all three Devilbiss dv1 guns and dont even use the dv1-c anymore since getting the prd-715. It sprays that good
Review a sata 5500 i just see alot of the channels always do the budget guns but hardly see any one do a 5500. I know they arent a budget gun but they are a investment and as with alot of sata's they will likely hold up for a very long time....and as always great content!!!!!
I'm using a 1.3mm tip on the Fuji 4 gun and it is a challenge! The Porfis PRD-715 seems great, I'm curious how it compares to the D1 Drizzle as a budget gun. Thanks for this one!
Hi Chris, I'm pleased you like the PRD-715 as I had this gun on loan and the PRD-625 and both were great guns, as you said it lays the base really nice and silky and you got a nice flat finish from the clearcoat, I currently have the Porphis WP99 1.4 on loan which is a split tip and a side cup setup, while it sprays really well I'm a bit on the fence with the side cup setup. If you want a really good gun to test the try the Meiji Finer Core 1.3CR which I also have on loan ATM and this is one of the best guns I have tried in a long time, I have the WS400 series2 and the X5500 RP 1.3CC but this gun is as good at half the price👌👍John UK
Thanks Chris for another good video with good information. I ordered one of these guns and paid for it over 3 weeks ago but haven’t received it yet . My tracking shows shipped from CHINA but no details on where it is so hopefully it shows up I enjoy all your videos so keep them coming !!
I and totally amazed at how much I like this gun. It's currently one of my favs, Porphis is sending out some more guns for review so stay tuned. Appreciate your comment and support!
This gun has been popping up all over RU-vid. Everyone has been giving it very positive reviews and it also helps that the gun looks really sharp. Do you know how it would hold up with a smaller compressor? I have a 30 gallon so I have stuck to the LVLPs but I’ve seen it on a few channels and I really want one lol
Great video, Chris. TCP Global has their Master Pro 44 spray gun. It comes in under the price of the Porphis 715, at around $150USD, and gives similar results off the gun. I've only see Paint Society and Mario Paint Class give reviews on it, and thought it would be awesome getting your feedback as well.
I have looked at that gun and thought about doing a review. I have some more Porphis guns coming a entry level gun and a split tip and another one. So maybe after that.
I have question please i hope you answer is it good to use the blender and clear coat in the same sparygun like if u want to blend once u finished clear you put the blender in the clear coat coat and spary the area u want to blend clear im i wrong or no ?
Hi Chris, That bumper sure came out nice with the Porphis 715. UPK tried out the 135 model with so so results. Have you had a chance to work with this 715 since the review came out? Porphis also has the 717 with the split tip. Very fine atomization with it demonstrated on another channel. A little more money too. But the body of the 715 and the 717 are the same so tips are interchangeable. Would be interesting to get your professional opinion on it too. Thanks!
Yeah, I'm really surprised with how much I like that 715. It is a really nice gun. Puts down a beautiful finish, I have sprayed with it again since then and more great results, so I really do like that gun. I did just spray with the 629 I think and I've got a video coming out soon on that gun. They did send me the 135. That's their cheaper model, so that'll be interesting to see how it performs.
@@GarageNoise Chris HI I HAVE HAD THAT FORD FOCUS MK3 FRONT BUMPER PAINTED TWICE STILL NOT A EXACT MATCH HE EVEN USED A SPECTRO CAMERA CHRIS ON THE FRONT WINGS OR FENDERS SOMEBODY SAID ANDY BLEND ON THE WINGS OR FENDERS 800 GRIT AND GRAY SCOFF PAD AND CLEAR BASE BLENDER THE WHOLE WING THEN BASE COAT PAINT AND CLEAR COAT PAINT IS THAT RIGHT CHRIS ✅️
Hey there garage noise my name is Larry I live in Ohio and I have a dynasty lvmp spray gun just got done spraying my motorcycle cowling with some lacquer paint and clear I think I found that gun on Amazon you might want to try that it has a CFM of 10 it's a nice gun might want to try that
@@manuelmejia76 well, I will do that I still need to figure that out myself. However they are sending me Three more guns. I totally surprised at how well I like this gun I reached out to them and they are graciously sending out some more.
Hey man, I’ve got a question that I can’t get a straight answer for. I’m spraying an Eastwood dtm epoxy primer and it says you can recoat within 4 or 5 days. I sprayed it and was going to go over with a 2k after an hour and a half but it’s still a little tacky so decided I’ll wait 24 hours. My question is do I need to clean the epoxy primed panels when I prime tomorrow or just tack rag it?? Thanks for reading this novel lol.
@@GarageNoise ok. Should I not be concerned with anything settling on it overnight? Planning on doing it tomorrow. I’m new to this and understand wax and grease remover is a no no on primer is that right? Thanks a lot for the reply
Nice work❤ ...Do i need to prime in the same day that i sand the car or its normal to sanding and preparing the surface than prime it after few days ??
Technical Question, Do you have any suggestions how to minimize dieback using Finish One Overall Clear. I always end up cutting and buffing after a couple days when I use it. Love your videos
so what makes a Sata, DeVilbiss or Iwata worth 700-1100 dollars compared to this 220 dollar gun? Do the high end guns really spray that much better or are companies getting more greedy?
Some would say build quality but I feelblike the build quality on this gun is great. The quality of these budget gun has really improved over the last few years. I don't really see the difference in dollars to be honest. If you can paint you can paint no matter what gun you use. I feel like it's a plus to learn on a budget gun it make you a better painter. Some of the cheaper guns are more difficult to get dialed in to achieve the finish that your looking for. So some of the high end guns can be easier to use, but not all. I found this gun to be very easy to use and I have no affiliation with this company.
I'm getting the 717, the split tip version. Currently using a Walcom Slim Kombat with a 1.3 for base and clear. And an AeroPro A-610 with a 1.7 for HB primer. I'm watching from Australia as well.
