As a 59 year old new scooter rider weighing 85kg , I bought this model. Have had it 3 weeks today hit 95 miles (I changed the display from km to miles) . I ride mine on L4 setting which cruises around 18mph. To day I rode 7 miles and had 70% battery left. I have been 20 miles on one charge with 30% battery left. A lot depends if it’s windy and how many hills you climb. Also I do believe using the regenerative break does add power back into the motor / battery. I tend to use mine in combination with a train , I did find riding in excess of 30 minutes made my legs and back ache! Having a 700 w motor is such a bonus and I couldn’t see anything that came close when researching. Having good torque and good range if not ridden at full power is just what I wanted. I bought mine from amazon and came from ice in Spain who have been very helpful when the strap they sent was not complete . I am wary when riding over potholes and manhole covers but have not so far lost any grip. Riding with air tyres will probably be more comfortable but if you go Halfords you will see m365 owners lined up waiting for puncture repairs. One final point wish everyone would wear a helmet !

I bought the 2019 edition last year and a few months ago I mounted a custom drum break. It was an easy job and in an hour or so I made it a lot safer. So even if you’re stuck with last year’s model, there’s still an easy fix. Oh, and you can also mount an old fashioned bell of course 😀

I've only just thought about getting an electric scooter to come home and back to work (about 3/4 mile each way) at lunchtimes as I've been having plantar fascitis in my left foot. I came across your videos and I must say I've absolutely loved watching them, your sense of silliness really tickles me 😁😁 Saying that I'm so glad you do a bit of silliness but then stick to proper reviewing of the scooters which is exactly what I'm looking for. Absolutely fantastic scooter me and my woman bought one a month ago from Amazon (IC electric Spain) at a cost of £895 for each scooter they throw in genuine Etwow carry straps and good quality helmets with led lighting. Absolutely smooth transaction with delivery within a week during lockdown 👍🏼. The scooters like in Bens review are on par with regards to performance. I've done over 100miles on mine with a combo of commuting and riding it throughout the countryside. No major design flaws other than the handle on the brake lever side not folding down and the light for night use is not the best for lighting up the road at night when no street lights are available! Other than that get on the internet or down your local scooter shop and order one you will be blown away by its performance 💪. Excellent review Ben 10/10 mate.

Great review Ben! Like you I have a warm spot for the E-Twow scooters. These are the OG scooters when very few knew what an electric scooter was capable of. I think I bought my Booster GTs in 2015 and I commuted for many years and miles on them. The combination of power and portability was great back then and the GT just takes it up to more modern capabilities. The drum brake and additional power is a welcome addition. Perhaps there are adjustments to the drum brake that can improve its performance. I know many of my drum brake scooters needed cable adjustments to get them to bite harder. I would trade my Speedway Mini-IV for an E-Twow GT.

Love your videos! I just bought this scooter, and took it for a 15 mile ride on the P4 setting (max speed 19mph). I am 205 lbs and this scooter has no issues going up hills, except....when the battery is at 20%, I noticed that the hill climbing power is diminished somewhat, The speed is not affected by the remaining charge though as you mentioned. Great scooter! I am going to test the range with P5 setting tomorrow.

Nice work, Ben :) I got one of these last November, the one without the extra brake and stuff. Replaced my M365 because, after 6 months of light ish use, the battery would only get me 6 miles or so, and it was rubbish at going up even the gentlest of hills, oh...and don't get me started on punctures, solid tyres, and no suspension. So, I got one of these. Absolutely brilliant! Fast, long life battery, it laughs at hills. And I have no problem with the brake, it stops me when I want to stop, quite sharpish too. Downsides....small, hard rubber, wheels can get deflected of course by the smallest of tarmac/concrete joints. Hard rubber tyres, in the wet, on manhole covers, are feckin LETHAL, they are SO bad at that. No side stand. Even now, 6 months later, I still miss it. Lights are not great, not really lighting anything up, more so other people can see you. And, when I bought mine, I paid 1100 quid, so THIS one is a bargain, innit.

Got 1 and rode in NYC, the electric left break, is a really dangerous break. Every time i try to use the left break, it jerks the scooter and I was riding about 8 mph. The rear drum break feels much safer to use. Also at 1 time, I rode on top of a manhole, the whole scooter came off my feet. I was somewhat scared riding it in Manhattan. It feels like they put so much power in such a small scooter. Only really good perks I can think of is that, it is light, for I live in the 5th floor without any elevator.

Your so lucky you have an eletric scooter I wish I had one but my family is to poor 😔😔

Actual specs on battery pack are _super_ hard to find: 13S3P 54.6V peak ("48.0V nominal") Samsung 35E, the scooter specs claim 504Wh (3500mA 3.7V nom), but the battery pack sticker says 477Wh (3350mA 3.65V nominal)

I bought the 2019 version with no handbrake and even with only the electric brake it’s still an amazing scooter.

I have the E-Twow booster plus model, been riding it for a week, really is addictive, roads are pretty rough here, shifting you weight around going over bumps helps. (Mine does have cruise control) The next e-mobile Ill get will be a skateboard. Thanks for the review

Quick question, If money is no object, is this the scooter you’d go for and also, I know they are not yet legal. Do you ride on the pavements or the roads? Which is best, obviously cycle lanes if there are some.

The bike in star wars is a "swoop" or "swoop bike" although most people just call them speeder bikes. Another great vid as always. Good info just got to pull the trigger on buying and e scooter now instead of using the car for work. Was there ever a winner for that scooter give away?

Nicely done!! Over in Canada we are allowed to legally ride on the roads. Has it een relaxed in the UK or do you still risk tickets? Do they have the X-trail escooter there? I ride that and it is amazing....dual 800w motors 48v battery. Close to same price!

Just bought the m365 pro and modified the firmware to get 32 km top speed. I have never felt the need to go any faster than that. for £300 more you basically get suspension and that is it.

Please forgive the ignorance but I’ve been wanting one of these but I’ve heard stories about lithium batteries exploding or fires starting from EV and it got me concerned. Is it as simple as charging the scooter battery much like a cell phone or another type of battery from any electrical outlet? Is there anything I can do as a precaution when it comes to battery hazards? Can scooters be stored in a garage or must they stay in the home due to the need to charge? Thank you!

The 2019 models are currently around £150 cheaper. Worth it? It also claims the 2020 model has more Torque. I was wondering whether you noticed that or not? It's not as is E-Twow gave any torque figures anyways, simply claiming 'More Torque'... ;o/

Hi Ben, Great review as always 🛴👍 I've been on the fence about getting this scooter for a while. Great to see the breaking has been improved. You mention the grip on the scooter is great considering the narrow hard rubber tyres (3:45). How do those tyres handle / grip in the rain, compared to the M365 pneumatic tyres for instance? Are they close? What about on slippy surfaces (manhole covers etc.)? This has been my biggest concern, as pneumatic tyres usually handle / grip better to the road. Do you think something like WEICON Power Grip could improve the traction? Been looking at the Raine One as well. Any thoughts on that compared to the E-Twow Booster GT? Would love to hear your insight, thanks 🙂.

As I understand it the e-twow scooter doesn't come with a toggle-button speed-mode; like Eco > Normal > Sport. But it has cruise-control. My question is; Is it possible to activate cruise-control at any speed? Not just in max speed?

got one of these last week on the strength of this review and it's amazing i suffer bad chronic pain due to a buggered back and it's like i have a little bit of freedom back! small enough to take shopping ,flies up hills just loving this scooter :D bought a reid e4 plus the week before although it's a really nice ride walking with it looked like giant's scooter next to 5'8" me lol i stupidly tried it out so the shop won't take it back DOH! so going to lose money trying to sell it but one of those things innit ..... this scooter tho what a machine worth every penny! bought it direct from them and the display was all scratched up within half hour of me emailing them they phoned me and i had a new one sent to me and a vid on how to change it emailed to me :) fantastic customer service so well worth buying direct from e-twow

Hey Ben.... the physical break also controls the electric break...the rear breaks needs to be adjusted a bit for ones purpose...

Can anyone answer this. You should already know that pneumatic tires are better than solid tires. If I was to swap out the rear tire of the Etwow Booster 2020, would it make a huge difference in a more comfortable ride?

The preverbal hook!!!.. Again the deal breaker 🤣..... Seriously.. I have had this 2020 gt for poss 2 months now and the zero 10. Pound for pound this has to be my no. 1 scooter as a daily workhorse.. Phenomenal power to weight ratio.. All i waited for was the essential drum brake ( not disc break) and kick stand. It has been an absolute life saver for me during the pandemic as I'm trying to avoid public transport like the plague. I actually think the drum break is mega strong only problem is that its so effective you end up locking up the back wheel overshooting where it could technically stop. First class scooter and i bought from etwow.net direct.. They offer the best price. I'm so happy you reviewed this version Ben and great fun video as usual. Thank you dude 👌🙏

Hey, I live in NYC & bought this a month ago. FANTASTIC for getting around the city! My question is if I needed to repair/maintenance can you suggest a bike shop/repair center I can take it if repairs/maintenance is needed eventually?

This was a great video from someone who hasn't yet used a e-scooter. I've been looking at this brand for a while and considering I'm a tad weighty PET say this will do what I want which is just to commute locally. I am older with asthma so once these things are legal I'm seriously going to look at getting one. I'm in outer London so I'm waiting to see where these can be ridden. I've had one for a couple of weeks now and I think it's the best commuter scooter - perfect size and weight, plus more power than you'd expect for something so compact. I find the e-brake surprisingly good compared to a Ninebot ES4. It's good enough for normal braking, with the rear drum brake for extra safety. The suspension is also very good - it sounds a little rattly over rougher ground but feels smooth without any harsh knocks. To avoid the folding issue with the right handlebar, I changed the angle of the brake lever so that it didn't hit the headlamp when folded. Also if you pull the cable up slightly when folding, it will fold in fully.

Would this fit on a plane or in a carry on bag?

In other words buy the Ninebot ES2 with additional battery as it’s much cleaner looking without all those nasty cheap looking exposed cables. Plus the Ninebot ES2 has the luggage hook & better lighting plus app.

Hi Ben, I just got mine the GT 2020 Smart Edition yesterday thanks to your review. This thing is brilliant, I bought it from a seller in Spain at just €899 with free shipping and accessories like helmet and carrying straps. It’s a bargain. I have yet to test how far it can go in one charge tho, but I rode it to the superstore that’s around 2 miles away from where I live and have no problem even going though the bumpy side roads. I thing the lights are not bright enough tho. It barely lights up the road at night and the brake lever somehow blocks some of the front lights which makes it worse. Also the acceleration at low speed is a bit too sharp, makes it a bit hard to maintain at low speed. Btw how’s the battery life of your helmet? I strongly feel the needs of having turns indicators when riding on the road. I’m thinking if I should have the indicators on the helmet like yours or just get a pair of remote indicators and mount them on where the orange reflectors are.

You forgot to mention how amazingly well the e brake is alone and it's regeneration purposes. I would never use the hand break it's useless

I bought the GT 2020 a week ago but I'm kinda worried that there's no water resistance rating, especially in Ireland. How have you dealt with using it in British weather?

Anyone know how to remove speed limiter? I get about 33kmph Vmax weighing 70kg, I have it on L4 setting there is no L5 setting. Wondering if there’s some hidden options like in previous etwow, or if the advertised 40kmph is with no load (speedometer gets to 41km when testing wheel in air)

Hi Ben. On your advice I just bought a 2020 GT from Selfridges. HOWEVER, I'm concerned that despite the Selfidges spec label saying 25MPH+, on getting it home I discovered there is no L5 option. Could this mean that UK GT's are now being speed restricted to 15mph??? I've been following M365s around and I can't go any faster than them in L4 mode. Could my scooter be the beginning of the end for the GT crown?? Your thoughts valued

I'm looking to get an electric scooter for commuting to the train and the e-twow gt looks to be the one for going on a hilly road except what is it like down hill in wet conditions (very nervous about that one) due to the tyres being solid and slim. The other I was looking at was the Widewheel Pro. Any thoughts from you would be lovely, thanks.

How do you lock a scooter? Am worried to lock the wheel because people could unscrew it and still it.

“Speeder bike”, folding handle are an awesome feature!, resulted to strapping the m365 behind headrests in mx5 because of the handles... this would actually fit in the boot!....(quick edit you have the most informative vids on current uk regs, always look out for your updates , cheers for the info)

Only one real gripe.... In order to change speed / gear settings you cannot do that mid ride. You have to physically stop and using a combination of the power button and electronic break lever it allows you to get into the 'p' settings where you can fix your max speed. Bloody pain in the a@se! However its so much fun i rarely take it of max lol 🙄

Mine just arrived today - Is anybody concerned about the big hole in the deck where the brake cable runs through? It appears as though any rain that accumulates on the cable/deck is just going to run directly down the cable and through the hole towards the battery compartment

Sure there's no cruise control? Also not in the open secret way it's present on my first generation Kugoo S1 (with them Kugoos being sort of underpowered but still good -and inexpensive- clones of E-Twows)? 🚀

I encourage anyone riding in cities to question that braking distance. I've been riding for years in London, normal bikes and ebikes, and I can tell you with that braking distance you're ability to avoid accidents is very poor. Just last a week a chap pulled out in front of me, my brompton stops on a dime so no matter, but with a 8ft+ braking distance there would have been a collision. Escooters are fab fun, but people aren't being critical enough of the braking systems relative to bikes in that price range.

For range test why don’t u put it on a box and tape the speed and just get the speed/time =“range”
