Im a 77 year old guy believe me ive eaten my share of bologna sandwiches both fried and cold still make one now and then, a fresh sliced garden tomato on the side with some green olives yum

Fried bologna was a lunch staple during summer when all five children, Mom and Dad, and Grandpa were home. Dad would tell us to wash up the fried round steaks were ready! 😂😂😂

I've been eating them for around 70 years. Always taste great. Right up there with grilled cheese or fried egg and cheese sandwiches. Yummy.

My Mom and Dad use to make me fried bologna sandwiches. It seemed like the bologna tasted better then. They would buy it over the counter instead of prepackaged. It was whole and they sliced it themselves.

I miss eating bologna. On trips to anywhere my parents would buy a pound of bologna, a loaf of bread and a jar of mustard. Heaven! We sure had a little bit of jars of mustard!!! ☺️

I am Eastern/Central European and I've never really heard of fried Bologna sandwiches before. I tried them last year, and since I've tasted it for the first time it became my favorite sandwich ❤God bless America for this wonderful delicacy 🤗

LOVE FRIED BOLOGNA!!! In other cities that we've lived in, the supermarkets had more expansive items. Never knew that beef garlic bologna was such a rarity, since I've been eating it for 52 years!😄😁😄 Your sandwich looks great! I grew up in NYS. We'd have ours w garlic bologna, sliced thin, fried until slightly crisp in a wee bit of butter or margerine, on plain white bread w iceburg lettuce (not a fan of it, anymore, much-now I use green leaf), and some French's yellow mustard!!!🤗👍

😊 I am a child of the 60's, and both of my parents grew up on farms in the South. Bologna was a staple in our home. A favorite childhood memory is from a home that we lived in when I was very young (4 maybe?). The house had a central heat register on the floor in the hallway. It was about 3' x 4' and it got HOT. My siblings and I loved to get slices of bologna and cook them on top of the grates. I'm 60 now, so obviously as unsanitary as it was, I have lived to talk about it. PS, the trick to cook low and slow is great. I'm going to try it tonight!

That may be the most thought out bologna sandwich recipe I have seen. Can't wait to make one. I think I'll add a fried egg on mine also.

The only way I can eat bologna! Thanks for the slow cooking tip! My sister and I used to cut them because as you said, the meat would puff up in the center....We at ours without bread and just put mustard on the meat. This looks great!

Oh Ken that was a feast. I love fried bologna sandwiches. I like mine a bit crispier. Oh that cheese was a great medley. Only thing I have to be honest is I’m not into spicy brown mustard on this one I’d have to use regular mustard so I can enjoy all those flavors, but that’s me. Now while I’m out tomorrow I have to get me some bologna. Pepper jack is a staple here with me, I love it. Have a wonderful day.

I LOVE bologna sandwiches, on the caramelized onions part I actually like to do this on Sunday with 4-5 big onions so I can store it for the week that way you have delicious onions in the time it takes to reheat!

We were pretty poor in the 1970's, and we had this sandwich a lot to make ends meet. But we only had grilled onions, never caramelized. I am going to have to try that this weekend. It certainly ups the game a bit I bet

My mom used to make these for me when I was in grade school back in the 1970s. I would come home for lunch as my school was literally right down the street from where I live. God rest her soul. Mom made them with American yellow cheese and ketchup.

Make this using pickled onion. Slice of Bologna, slice of Salami, few pepperonis...magnifique!
