I’ve been waiting YEARS for a video like this there’s like no material and educational videos for DQ9! Do you think you could do a video on all of the classes (like your thoughts and what not) and their viability in end game; Maybe even mention abilities and traits you should try to obtain from each class!!!

Cleaned out my closet and ended up finding this game. I was so happy cause at the time I really wanted to play it again. It’s definitely the best DQ game and I really wish they’ll remaster it. No new mechanics or anything just better graphics and maybe a few QoL changes.
Awesome to see someone grinding this game in 2023. I just started up a playthrough myself. One question I have, is why you aren't using RNG manipulation for the 2 percent boss drops? I understand it's not 100 percent legit, but it's certainly more legit than giving yourself high level treasure maps ... And you do already use the table for Alchemiracles.. of all the crazy RNG stuff in this game, the 2 percent boss drops are the most grueling. With bad luck, it can easily take 75-100 runs of a boss before you get ONE.
Just doing the parts of the game I enjoy most to be honest 🙂 I like going through the high level grottoes for the challenge and treasures, but am not as keen on spamming the easy, lower level ones and then having to check to see if every new map is any good. Plus you're often forced to revocate multiple times to get access to the high level maps, and I couldn't be bothered to have to grind up to level 99 any more times (we're already 3 months into the playthrough!)
@@ZakGoble ever used the treasure map trick on the slime hill near angle falls? Engage a map to reset the spawn RNG, walk out, see what spawns, try another map until you get one with liquid or king metal slimes. Once I found a map that produced a liquid metal slime spawn within 30 seconds, I got my party from 3 times revocated to 9 times revocated in a week. On the hill, the liquid metal slimes regularly spawn in groups up to 5. The map I use for the spawn is only a level 2 map.
Currently playing Kingdom Hearts for the first time off-camera and loving it. As for on-camera, I'll take a good break after this series, but probably another Dragon Quest game (either 7, 8, 10 or 11)
Almost done watching the playlist but I’ve still got a long way to go. Especially as I can’t just speed up the game. 😂 loving the whole thing. I hope looking forward to seeing what’s the best gear here.
Hey, love the video ? Can I ask you, what is your setup (emulator/else/mods) for DQ9 ? You seem to have sort of a texture filter, the characters are not pixelated at all, I'd love to play like that but on Desmume I just seem to have the original resolution. Also, how can I have the main screen bigger than the upper one too ? Thanks :)
Cheers man 🙂 Playing on MelonDS. No mods, but upscaled by x6 (config > video settings > internal resolution > OpenGL), and the screen layout is set to Hybrid (config > screen layout > hybrid)
Ooh, that's the stuff you get from the rusty equipment right? I might have to look into that because it looks a hell of a lot better than the current outfit
@@ZakGoble Exotoga also gives a 25% decrease from fire, ice, wind, lightning, and dark on top of dispelling 35% from snooze, paralysis, and poison. Best armor you can give for a sage or priest defense wise unless you want the magical mending/might from the Seraph’s robes. I do acknowledge that those give resistance of 25% from all elemental attacks but I found that I usually go with the exotoga for my priest.
Looks like the Exotoga has slightly better defence but it doesn't have the light and earth resistance that the Seraph's robe has (not that any of the remaining bosses use light or earth!) They both have the 25% reduction against all the other elements. I guess they're both used in different circumstances - I just can't be bothered to get both 😂
Honestly DQ9 is the great rpg gane i ran into cause of the classes my best one was gladiator. I didn't know that alot of armours have skje elemental resistance lol when i first played it
uumm, i have been playing this on and off since it came out. andi still have no idea how u can RUN through the game?? is this possible for me. just begun playing again about 2 weeks ago w the goal of actually getting to MKS only lvls....fast movement would b amazing 😍
link the guide you looking at, the only exception i know from the 5 stars items that are the best in the game is the Uber falcon blade wich is 10x time better than the supernova
