MICHAEL (everything - he's a baller) - bit.ly/Instagra...
In this (possible) final episode of Rolex history, Michael dives into two of the most important pieces in the Rolex family - the Datejust and the Day-Date. In 1945, to celebrate their 40th birthday, the brand launched the Datejust. The original model featured the original screw down Oyster crowns, and didn't contain the cyclops date magnifier that has become synonymous with the watch until 9 years later. Originally, the piece was only offered in solid yellow gold, because it was the premier Rolex option.
Then came the release of the Rolex Day-Date. This watch, which as the name implies displayed the day of the week and date of the month, also featured the brand's first movement to warrant the name "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified." Where the Datejust introduced the world to the Jubilee bracelet, the Day-Date introduced it to the Presidential Bracelet (so named for it being a gift to President Lyndon B. Johnson).
