I service many many pools, and do regular cleans on pools so I get to see many different brands of Salt Water Chlorinators, and many times I am called onto site when they break or wear out. I have to agree, these Chlorinators are the best thing that's been installed for my pool, in many years. Its easy to use, reliable and makes a huge difference to keeping the pool water clean and healthy. I happily recommend and the fact that its made locally is a nice bonus.

What size K Chlor chlorinator would you recommend for 120,000L pool in qld temps? Hot climate. How do they compare to the neptune chlorinators? They seem similar?

I don’t know why you would call the timer complicated? You can see the whole 24hr settings on one screen and see the times it is on and off. Then you can set any hour of the day to be either on or off or pump only. Once you know the system it is very quick and simple. MRT

Hi Lorraine. I do know that Reltech unit. It is super basic with a an analogue timer. It is basically unchanged technology from 15-20yrs back. Very different to this K Chlor. The K Chlor has a button to check the salt level. A boost button. A superchlorinate mode. And it is very well designed and made w good materials. Mark

Yes. Absolutely you can. Also note because these are well made they have more of the precious metal on them that they require to turn salt to chlorine. So they last a decent time as well. MRT

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials thanks for your quick reply. I changed my cell yesterday and the status in the chlorinated is still fluctuating between okay and Cell EOL. However the output seems to be fine. Any idea why it still says Cell EOL? Thanks

I've got a Lincoln one of these, they work well, but under the little electrical junction which connects the cell to the controller, it's not water proof. I had a filter fail an water got under and corroded the wire terminals and killed the cell. Bit of a design fault really. Just to clarify control was similar distance away from filter, and wasn't obvious that water had splashed onto controller but not sure what else could've caused it.

Sorry to hear you had water spraying up under there. Do you know how long that went on for? That part of the power pak where the cell connects is one part that isn't special made its a common part among a lot of chlorinators, it is supposed to be a spray shield and tucked up underneath so rain doesn't get on it.

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials I think I caught it pretty early as the plastic sand filter split around the top, from memory it wasn't that bad. But it's all I can think of that would've caused water getting under the white cover. I do recall the chlorinator acting weird after installing the new filter, was registering a high water temp, it seemed to come good next day. I didn't discover the no chlorine issue for a few days though so I think the cell got short circuit as now it only generates max 5% on chlorine register on chlorinator control. I'm getting a solid 9v output which is on par for 30g unit, and no error on chlorinator control. Can't check salt level either just hangs then times out back to main screen.

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials yeah we got the unit from our pool builder mate, so not sure how old it is, but I believe it might be a refurb unit he had lying around as it's low hours on the controller.

I'm a pool technician and I'd stay clear of any digital chlorinators like this one. Aqua joy chlorinators beat this one hands down.

They have like 20+ year old technology and the mechanical time clocks die all the time. Why would you recommend that? How about a modern well built reliable unit? Something that has modern features and is well built.
