Nice Jon! Have you ever tried Nebula from Acustica? It's my go to for pre amp sounds and other coloring like tape.

Modern music-software is mindblowing - the power/price ratio is epic, and it becomes better every year! I love the way the "analogue plugins" gives any sound personality. For the ones looking for a particular detail, I strongly suggest giving some analogue plugs a try. Both demo versions and free ones. But, remember that plugins does some of the work in making a sound more natural. For example, some creative modulation can make a synth go from sterile to the finest earcandy, almost undistinguishable from an analogue sound.

In terms of affordable pre-amps, I would recommend the ART TPS II, its like a £175 stereo Tube preamp - you can really saturate sounds without distorting them and its really versatile I love it

yes using it a lot. very good especially for it's presets but would use it to colour vocals.

I use those preamps regularly. The neve clone tends to sound best on vocals. I love those preamps but to be honest none come close to my grace 101 hardware preamp.... the grace is under $1k u.s. emulations are great but nothing beats a good preamp during the recording stage.

In the case of preamps I'll use only the V76 because ''""tHe BeAtlEs uSeD tHeM"''" and I like my tracks sound like it was mixed in the 60s.

Do Drum n' Bass with these vocals. I think it could sound smashing! Make them go a little faster, and do something similar to Rudimental - Waiting All Night (just for reference of the style). I think you could have a very good track there. The stuff I've been hearing from you lately were melancholic and slower. Try something different, more energetic.

I don't think analog gear is worth the expenditure as it is a compromise at best. Plus, you have to worry about things like temperature, humidity, component degradation, maintenance, etc. With digital EQ and plugins, a great microphone (or selection of mics), and good ears, you can get any sound that you want.

And if I had money to burn, I would be interested in something like the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 microphone modeling system. That would give you a lot more flexibility to change the sound much more than any preamp.

if a good preamp is 1000+ and this is the result is close to this, it's not worth it lol. The diffrence is soooo small and sounds like it can be achieved with with some light saturation and Eqing. Analog gear in general is so overrated. I've done alot of research and I turns out analog is just way to expensive for what you achieve. One of the only thing I've seen which are realy good analog is those Pultec EQ's, but also same story, Way to expensive for what you get.

@of course, but maybe I produce for 7 years now, ofcourse I can hear a diffrence but its not realy worth the expensive analog gear. The normal consumer wont really hear it so that makes it even less worthy tbh

No, but then explain why there are soo many amazingly mixed songs from artists that have 0 analog gear. If you are some analog nerd who really thinks that it soo much better, sure be a fool and spend way to much money on stuff that brings noise, a slow/shittier workflow then digitial, no presets, sounds diffrent every time you turn it on etc.... stop living in the past man

It is not always about the utilization, and money-usefulness ratio. Sometimes it is about owning an external piece of equipment. It changes your workflow and the way you feel about making music. A lot of people would argue that there is no sense of buying a Mac Book (let's say that OS is not an issue here), when you can get a faster Windows machine for the same money. Yes, this is true. However, sometimes you pay more for Mac Book because of aesthetics and style (if Macs do that for you). Lately, I have found that aesthetics and style of my gear really do affect my workflow and feelings. Think outside the box (pun intended).

to me, the most important part of preamp is the compressor, which can avoid clip during recording, but software preamp cannot do that

no, because hardware process the electric signal, software process the digital signal, once it clipped, it is almost impossible to fix that in digital stage. software compressor on the input can only control the recording's dynamic but cannot avoid clipping

the MICROPHONE is WAY more important than a preamp... a cheap mic with a great preamp will sound mediocre, a great Mic with a Cheap Preamp will sound way better..... the best Software preamps are the UAD!

sorry I don't like this video. why don't you show what you're making to improve the vocals? yes I hear the difference but what are your choices? what are the settings? what plugin chain have you got? honestly, if the quality of the contents must be sacrificed because you just have no time and you have to make a daily video, it makes no sense. go back to the weekly or maybe twice a week but we deserve better content. anybody don't give a f about you're going to ikea. Everybody wanna deep info about music.

He already made tons of video about everything go check it out. There are moreover or less 700-800 vids.. and as he said he already made 10 videos about them. Cmon this is not that deep music production tutorial channel. Thia channel is all about his daily life and you know what it means when its called daily vlogs..its more about his day to day and a sneak peak about everything.. C'mon bruh 😂
