Hey dude i used your tips and instead of doing the ha giang loop i rented from you guys in da nang then went inland to phang nha then up to hanoi. Boy, what a ride! You werent kidding when you said the ho chi minh is THE road to ride. The mountains and scenery were breathtaking. Thanks again to you and your company for helping me do this at a great price and with great service.

I did the Ha Giang loop and Ban Gioc on an XR150 a month before covid shut the world down, the plan was to go back and do the South to North but being in Australia I still can't leave yet! Can't wait to re-visit this video when that time comes! solid info! Such and awesome country to ride in!

@Tigit motorbikes If you want to go north from HCMC, quickest way to escape from HCMC busy traffic is to head south (how typical, everything works the opossite in VN ;-), get ferry to Can Gio and you are out (no traffic there). Take ferry from Can Thanh to Vung Tau, then coastal. Can Gio is mangroves only, although not spectacular, this comes quite handy now during pandemic when roads are still closed for interprovince travell, Can Gio is still technically HCMC. May help you get some air, helped me ... Cheers

Ferry is new and I have not tested it. I think if you are district 7 direction, this may be true. But District 1 where tourism is, I think my advice is still correct. It is an interesting point, and might actually change the game a little bit. I need to test it.

@@Tigitmotorbikes I think even from D1, it's just the quickest escape from traffic. But of course, than it takes longer than your route (which is not bad, especially that part north west of Bao Loc which is actually quite new road surface too, and OKis place for some illegal paragliding but pssst ;-). I'd say both are solid options, depends what you want ...

You are right, I tried HCMC route via Ba Ria to Vung Tau, it is heavy traffic hell. As you advised route to Can Gio is much less stressful, and highway to there is almost deserted. I agree with Mr.Tigit that Mekong Delta is mostly uninteresting, including Phu Quoc too. Go north :-)

Great thanks!! I arrive next week, will buying hiring or possibly buying a motorcycle, riding from South to North ;-) Then plan to pass over the border to Laos, Cambodia and Thailand . TY for sharing!!

Hello! Im currently in da lat heading south..I was planning to stay in a homestay called ecoco in Ben tre. Will the drive be truly awful?. I've heard great things about this homestay so am definitely interested in visiting but if the drive is so bad maybe it's not worth it?

Mate I’m 54 an experienced rider, what I’d like is your opinion on, I want to do a trip that includes Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao then back to Vietnam, I’m looking at having 3months up my sleeve, what do you think

It is possible, and we have people doing it. You can only take a 150cc over borders though. So your bike model is basically stuck to the Honda XR 150. Great bike though.

The police bit is earlier (5:55). tl;dw: they get shaken down for not having proper licenses, similar to the notorious checkpoints in Muine and Hagiang.
