TESTIMONIALS
‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
‘You really have to watch every second of the video because Prof, Tom drops these little nuggets of gold throughout the course. And they make ALL the difference. The only one doing this. Keep them coming Professor’ - NY, New York
‘If I could only be taught from one person, Prof Tom would be it. I can’t wait to train in person one day’ - Dallas, TX
‘Went to a recent competition with these videos fresh in my mind. I knew I had an edge and the confidence this gave me was unreal. Got the gold. All submission wins! - LA, California

I've come back to this video a couple times now as I'm just getting ready for my third competition and it still gets me feeling lit. You're advice and words go a long way for a guy, you're the man coach Tom 💪💯🥋

I just competed in my first competition. I had two matches. One in the weight division above me: 140-149.9. The other in my weight division: 130-139.9. I was extremely taken aback by how explosive and strong my opponents were. The heavier guy submitted me. The guy my weight dominated me on points. I was well prepared in technique, but I was not at all prepared for the tenacious physicality. It is important to be aware that the rolls done in some gyms do not necessarily prepare the grappler for competition, because physicality in tournaments is unparalleled to the more relaxed environment in class.

Good point!! We have to learn to match our opponents aggressiveness level. I will also have to keep this in mind for my first comp in a couple months😭

This is why I try to do as many comps as possible. The more you do, the more progress you make.

@@charles9571 yeah man, I agree. I did my third comp back in January this year. One of my opponents told me after the match it was his first comp. This time he was the one taken aback by my physicality.

Yep, the feel of it is different is a real fight, by the time you finish your first fight, you might be exhausted.

@@PoncesPoint hey man it went really well. Definitely a lot different than training in the gym. I actually won gold in gi absolute, which was a bit of a surprise. First competition I was expecting to get crushed, but it was a ton of fun and I’m looking forward to competing again. No submissions, which I need to improve. And I need to work on retaining mount because I got trap-and-rolled like 3 times. I got three of the matches uploaded to my channel if you’d like to check them out.

@@hankowitz bro that’s awesome, congrats! I started in September of this year, funny enough and my first comp is in Houston for NAGA on October 30th. Im kinda nervous but I need to get my first comp out of my system. You sound like you don’t give yourself enough credit. Maybe you’re better than you actually are. I saw a video recently of Khabib talking about how to stay on mount better by squeezing with your legs and keeping balance.

@@PoncesPoint Best of luck man. The best advice I could give would be to keep as calm as possible. I watched a bunch of videos and talked to upper belts at my gym, and they all pretty much said the same thing. Do your best to manage the adrenaline dump so you’re not exhausted after 30 seconds lol. Even Ricksons breathing techniques are super helpful. It’s definitely a different world, with all the noise, lights, etc. Best of luck man - win or lose it’s an awesome time and is very eye-opening. You’ll crush it, and you’ll learn. Please let me know how it goes!!

Came 5th guys unfortunately after 3 months training as a white belt a lot of the guys had tons more experience and were being used as white belts that were meant to be blue to score points massively for there teams a lot of the guys were gold medalist from previous comps and had tons of experience I’ll be back this November easy!

Well this kid just learnt what back mount is. Technical question Coach, I've seen people essentially knee-ride opponents who are turtling. Is this legit? or just something to mock friends with??

Haha, more kind of like play if training/disrespect. I don't see any advantages, only a loss of control and showboating myself. my 2 cents! (-: Coach Tom Davey
