We've worked with what must be around 1000 clients closely now and when we start every client is overlooking this number one important factor. The are looking at fodmaps or food intolerance testing for what supplement to take, and things are being done in the wrong order.
What you need to focus on first is chronic stress. Stress can wreak havoc on your system and research shows managing it helps reduce 70-80% of IBS symptoms.
You may have noticed that right but here's WHY. Stress hormones directly affect your digestion via our gut-brain axis. When your body is in fight-or-flight mode, it thinks you don't have time to rest and digest. During periods of stress, blood and energy are diverted away from your digestive system.
How to deal with it right because some stress its like that's your life you can't avoid it. But think about this would everyone be equally as stressed in your situation? Are there times when you are come under pressure when someone else isn't? Or vice versa? Yes of course because stress is how we perceive a situation.
So how do we improve how we respond to stress? Research shows meditation, CBT, yoga, and most prominently gut directed therapy. We help with that
Obviously diet changes are paramount, also consider your stress levels, what causes stress in your life, how you are addressing that, and what steps you take to minimize the stress in your life through some of these techniques that we know to work well.
