Here are the best weapons in Battlefield 2042 after the season 1 update. With the new season DICE introduced some new weapons into the game and also finalized some balancing changes. It's been a few months since my last weapon rankings video, so the meta has definitely shaken up a bit. These are the weapons you SHOULD BE using in Battlefield 2042.

Incoming mass of comments from people accusing me of cheating who have never seen me play before. It seems to always happen on these weapon related videos... anyways some of you were interested in how to access the practice range during my last rankings video. All you need to do is go to the portal mode, host an experience, and use the code 'aanj7z'. Happy practicing!

@@rodkimball7268 Yes there is a moving version. The code is 'g2c'. I just prefer this one because in the other one some of the AI can actually come and kill you and it gets you out of a groove.

Rolled my eyes when you started with the K30 as an honorable mention and not in the top 6 but then your rationale was sound and I agree with it. Also learned something new about the LCMG and the delay to fire while sprinting. I always thought I was bugged and definitely got killed more times than I'd like to admit treating it as a smg sprinting around.

Dont know for anyone else but im shredding with the PBX 45 , low recoil and hipfire is so accurate , thats my go to go gun right now 👍

As someone that used to compete in bf as well, I think the k30, m5, and scar are the best weapons to learn. I feel the scar is best in long range engagements with versatile mid range and short range including names. The m5 is versatile in mid to short range, and the k30 is just overpowered trash. If you're mew to the game the lcmg is op. That said Ars in this game like in other games are unnecessarily underpowered vs smgs. As in even in mid range if you get into a 1v1 the smg will probably win

Been a SFAR fan since day 1, was my first T1. I have trouble with recoil control so I use the standard rounds, but I'll try your setup when I return to it. Underbarrel is a huge versatility buff for it also. But beyond all that, there's something about the FEEL of the SFAR, the way it handles combined with the audio for it just gel so well with me. It feels punchy in a way that I've not felt since the Martini Henry in BF1 (which nothing compares to). Great video!

As a long time BF player I'm interested to hear your take on the TTK in this game in compared to say BF4. I've hopped on to that recently and noticed guns feel more deadly but also more fair? 2042 is odd to me because some guns like the k30, As Val and Scar definitely delete players but to me the rest of the weapon line up has their moments like the M5 but don't feel as let's say deadly. Idk maybe it's just me but this game swings from 1 frame kills to having to pump guys with a whole mag on a gun per gun bases

I really dislike what they did with the TTK in the 4.1 update for 2042. I felt like the game was in a good place balance wise before that but now everything is just so deadly in a bad way. Part of that is because of how many open areas you have to cross on these maps in comparison to BF4 but just generally speaking I feel like I can't be aggressive and if I get caught running with my weapon down I have no chance - especially at ranges in which that shouldn't be the case.

How about a console weapon tier list. I think the k30 is probably the best weapon on console at the moment. Vss is a close second. But weapons such as DMRs do not play as well.

Cat so good to see you posting great content again. I have used these tips and others to improve my game. I'm a long time subscriber and member of the Cat pack and watched all your uploads many 2 or 3 times. I've improved my game on BF5 and 2042 due to these tips. I’m very surprised it wasn’t mentioned, maybe it got buffed recently, but it’s so easy to one or two tap opponents. If they strafe then it is kryptonite to this gun, but if you catch them head on, game over

My favorite weapon is the DXR-1. I realized you didn't feature any snipers in the list. If I do a headshot my time to kill is 0 sec. But it requires good aim

Personally I still think the PKP is a very viable LMG. It’s dumps high power rounds at 800 rpm and had a decent hip fire from what I’ve used of it. I’m gonna have to use the LCMG more to compare but even if it was needed the PKP is still a very good LMG

I am kinda refusing to use the weapons with underbarrel launchers like the SFAR until they re-fix the vehicle exit ADS bug

Hey Catalyst, can you not start a new series called "how to not suck with... (ex. DMRs or shotguns)". I think it would help to more varying gameplay and help players with types of weapons they struggle to play with. It really does feel like it is one of the same types of weapon everyone uses these days, especially me bc I have it kinda hard to play with DMRs, snipers and shotguns

DISCLAIMER: these guns will not perform like this on console. Controlling your recoil will be much harder. Especially on high rate of fire weapons.

I’m curious how to get better at flying and vehicle combat in general I rarely see vehicles available to be used because they are in use by a good player or it’s just players who camp or just bad vehicle players.

I know pros rio on going prone anytime, but bipod is seriously valuable on several weapons. It’s fun to take out snipers with ease when you hit them with a couple long distance lasers via bipod.
