Unfortunately I'm 56 lol but fortunately I used to see slayer at small club venues in Brooklyn NY and a few other places ..saw reign in blood tour ......total chaos ,,the way I liked it ....hell awaits was the album that pointed me towards death metal and I got in a band .....Fuckin Slayer!!!!!!!
It's not just the drumming itself (which is amazing) but what I love most about Lombardo is how he elevates and highlights the other instruments/vocals with his writing
Such a dark, gorgeous song. I remember when this came out and so many of the older metalheads (eleventh and twelfth graders) found this album an offense because the band had slowed down. I was mortified and feeling almost in total despair at how brutal the songs on this album are. What fond memories.
Sweden.....also most of them were there for Metallica and their melody rock&roll - they were not prepared for raw, brutal, bloody and ass kicking sounds made by the only one true thrash band in the world - SLAAAYYYERRR!!!
I love how they sound nearly exactly the same as they did back in the 80's. Neither Metallica, Megadeth or even Anthrax sound nearly the same as they used to.
Be fair: Bostaph is a very talented drummer and has paid his dues. Management screwed over the whole band and I don't see how we can call Bostaph---who has precision and respect for Lombardo's work---not decent. Be fair. And be cool. And with all due respect: be well.
