Love this channel--this is what RU-vid was born for!!! Do you know where I can purchase cork arch inserts--they were in my corrective shoes made by National Rehab but they were bought out and stop making corrective shoes.---they are the only answer to lasting arch support that I have found --thx again for taking time to help us!!

You answered the question I was logging in to find!! I wish you'd held them side by side when talking about the depth of the heel and the arch though - I'm so tired of ordering stuff, doesn't work and mailing it back - I have a very old pair of the blues but can't tell which one they are and just realized as my feet have changed I have been wearing a smaller size than I actually wear and didn't realize they make a wide size - maybe that's why I had a bursa and painful pad issue arise - been to like 8 podiatrists in 9 yrs w the same issue and NObody told me what you just did. Bless you!!! (that's with me carrying in 20 lb bag with ALL arches and shoes and most docs won't even look at what you're wearing! Thank you :)

Hmmm these would make sense in the Clark desert chukka boot I imagine since there is 0 arch support. Wonder how it will change the height and lacing especially on top of the foot.

Hello Dr. Dave, I was wondering if you could review or give us (the general public) some extra valuable information on the WalkFit Platinum arch support orthotics sold in several stores. I was wondering if they are just as good (or the same quality) as the Birkenstock Blue arch support system you review in this video? I hear some people say this can do more harm than good. That is the reason I am asking you, (a trained, educated medical doctor). THNX

I'm planning to put one of these Birkenstock insoles in my new Celtic and Co sheepskin boots. I have high arch feet and I really need something to give me great support. I will update this comment once I have bought all the gear.

Ive had flat feet my whole life. its finally catching up to me, where my heel hurts after walking long periods. The birkenstock sandals seem to be the only thing I can wear when I go walking. Some walking shoes come with an insole or have some kind of an arch to them. should I be using the birkenstock insole with a flat insole underneath and buy shoes that are not raised in the arch? Theres a couple of variables here I am trying to sort out. Thank you in advance.

Thanks, this is helpful! Regarding the arch height difference between the sport blue and regular blue--which is closest to a stock pair of Birkenstock sandals?

A valid question and one that I wish Birkenstock would answer on their website. Send them an email and ask them. They should be able to tell you.

@@frugalfoot4973 They replied already! I thought you would be interested in the answer. "The Blue Footbed Sport and Blue Footbed Tradition most closely mimic the shape and support of our Arizona sandals. If you plan to wear heeled shoes, such as work boots or dress shoes, I recommend ordering the Tradition. If you plan to wear flat shoes, such as casual or athletic footwear, I recommend ordering the Sport."

@@frugalfoot4973 You're welcome! By the way, I asked them which of their insoles in general were closet to their sandals--I didn't lead with the Blue. So it sounds like both of the Blues are really the answer, more than their other types.

If im wearing these in a vulcanized skate shoe should put the regular insole over this?.
@frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 Год назад
I would try it over the top of the regular insole. The purpose of the insole in a vulcanized skate shoe is to provide cushion. It should not matter if the cushioned insole is below the Birkenstock arch support as you are still putting the cushioned layer between your feet and the skate. You can try it both ways - see which you like better. I just think that the structural nuances of the Birkenstock arch support will be lost if you put it under the cushioned insole. If you look at the Birkenstock insert up close you'll see what I mean.

@frugalfoot4973

I believe that these are designed to go on top of the insoles or to replace the insoles that come with the shoes (depending on fit).

Great questions: The full length version is up for review (hopefully next video). As for how this insert stays in place - once your foot is resting on the insert it shouldn't move. But if you do have issues you could always velcro the heel of the support down to the shoe. Put the rough velcro on the bottom of the insert and the smooth velcro on the floor of the shoe (in case you put your foot in the shoe without the arch support). Thanks for your comment.
