I bought a pair of these at boot barn to help with foot pain and they were amazing better than anything else I had bought. So I bought a pair for my son who works as a mechanic and he’s loves them! I work on my feet all day doing air conditioning so I’m climbing ladders and roof access is and kneeling. They have been a lifesaver. People should be aware that the sizes are difficult to understand when ordering them on the website men’s only goes to 12.

Nike used to include a little red foam arch support. It had an intricate shape that was like a half moon. It also had a small piece of double sided tape. That little piece made a big difference.

Thank you! This is the only insert that helped relieve pain from a bad case of Peroneal Tendonitis that I've suffered with for over a year. I wore Powerstep Pinnacles for years and they helped with Plantar Fasciits, but they provided no relief for Peroneal Tendonitis and only made it worse. It's very hard to find an insert that helps with lateral foot pain, so I was skeptical about the Spenco but decided to try them anyway. I can't tell you how thankful I am to you, Dr. Dave, for recommending these. I am finally getting some relief. I think the deep heel cup makes a big difference in relieving the PT pain. It cradles my foot rather than allowing it to sit painfully on the outer edge of a hard insole, like Powersteps and others. You have been so helpful to me, I can't thank you enough!

After hurting my feet a few times now and needing crutches for a week I have become neurotic about finding a good insole. I have recently purchased RunPro, Vionic Active Orthotic, Keen Utility, Sof Sol Fit, Sof Sol Plantar Fascia Gel, Protalus M100, ViveSole, Gimhai Home, Spenco Original and Spenco Max (after seeing this video I picked up the Spenco's). I feared the Spenco Max would be like putting a rock in my shoe (like Vionic Active Orthotic) but this was not the case at all. The Protalus M100 is my second favorite of the bunch but they are insanely expensive and a bit overly flexible. In short, I completely agree with your professional opinion after taking the plunge. The Spenco Max is my favorite, most comfortable, most affordable and not overly rigid while also being supportive insole I have yet to try. I didn't know this version existed until I found your video. Many thanks!!

I have used a couple of off-the-shelf arch support insoles with fairly stiff (some flex) arch supports, and they hurt like heck at first. It takes time for your feet to adjust. I wear them for 30 mins the first few days, and increase the time over about a week. Same thing with the $400 custom orthotics I got. Once your feet adjust, they really do help.

To the question, 'who said I have a flat foot?': my podiatrist. X-ray showed flattening and fracturing, 20 years ago. Recently, I had awful pain and black and blueing of soles of both feet. I assumed it was the same as 20 years ago. I bought Peak Planar Fasciitis inserts. In 2 weeks pain and discolorarion gone. I've put Peak into all of my shows. A bargain at $12.00 each vs. $500.00 custom builds, each, from doctor. Oh, and I remove all 'fatigue mats' in use at work. They cause overwork when constantly moving.

@frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 5 лет назад
Hello Nashaat shenouda: Arch supports will raise the arch thus lowering the head of the first metatarsal. This may only make your callous worse. You should seek out a podiatrist to find out why you are getting this callous. For example, arthritis of the Great Toe joint can cause callouses below the first met head. But, you may also wish to check out this video on how to pad the ball of the foot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lbK4f9ryf5o.html This might help relieve your symptoms quite a bit. @frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 3 года назад
It certainly could. Look up "Genu Valgum". By raising the flat arch you might end up having an improvement in your knee pain. That is 1. assuming that genu valgum is the problem with your knee and 2. the arch support is high enough to make a difference. Ask your orthopod what he/she thinks first.

What do you think about road runner shoe store arch support they are suppose to be custom made to fit your arch individual size?
@frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 3 года назад
There are two components to a custom insert: The fit and the calibration. I would grade them highly on fit but until I see evidence of proper calibration (three levels of cushion isn't calibration) then I can't give them a high score. But for $80 I would try these inserts rather than spending $60 for the standard in the box inserts.

And i felt that my calves muscles was a lil tighter today trying to bend down. How long does it take to break in & is it normal?
@frugalfoot4973
@frugalfoot4973 4 года назад
So my answer is strictly speculative since a physical exam is necessary for a more accurate answer. You may have some posterior tibial tendonitis going along with your heel pain (which sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis). I gather that the arch pain started after you began using the spenco max BUT the heel pain is somewhat better. If that is the case, you may wish to build up the arch for better support (I made a video on how to do that) but if that does not help or if either problem worsens then OTC may not be the answer for you and you should consult a foot doctor who can actually take a look at your problem in person.

I'm almost fully recovered from capsulitis of the second metatarsal in my right foot. Just like yourself, no other foot issues other than metatarsalgia pain. I thought I would be able to take care of it on my own with metatarsal pads and others measures, but I finally went and saw a podiatrist. A cortisone shot directly into the joint made a huge difference as it was the only thing that was able to get the inflammation under control. That took care of the existing pain which was step 1. Step 2 is prevention which means an orthotic. My podiatrist wanted to try over the counter before going the custom route. He recommended the Spenco Total Support Max for its rigid arch structure as well as it having more cushioning under the ball of the foot. It does have a metatarsal pad but it's very minimal. I've been using the Total Support Max for the past 2 weeks and have played about 8 hours of pickleball with it. I'm surprised just how much success I'm having with the Spenco insole. I notice zero pain whatsoever when playing up to 2 hours straight. Obviously, this doesn't mean you'll have the same results, but I couldn't be happier.

Well when your arch collapses so badly from pronation that you have foot surgery because you have bone spurs because you're constantly side loading your joints I would say this is a flat foot. It's like you're trying to talk people out of believing they have a problem with their arches... I have enough faith in myself and in other people to know that yes I have foot pain and medical problems because of this. The only thing that I've been able to find that's not absolutely worthless as far as the arch support are Aetrex sandals..

soon as i put on shoes that have some padding and arch my feet regret it. bc my calves get tight from trying to keep my feet flat and balanced. they have to be really flat inside the shoe. so my question is are there flat inserts i can buy and replace them with the shoe i have? bc i just bought some nikes and they are comfortable butttttt. there is that tiny arch and it ruins the shoe.

That is an unusual presentation. I wish I could help you but this is an instance where seeing your foot really would help. Why don't you go see your local foot doctor? Bring all your shoes and inserts you've tried with you so the doctor doesn't waste time trying things you've already done. I hope that helps.

The best arch support for flat feet is the muscles in the foot themselves. What if they're weak? You strengthen them. Orthotics and running shoes ruined my feet, barefoot shoes helped me strengthen/fix them.

The insole your showing in this video did absolutely nothing for my flat feet. Evidently not enough height in the arch or support was provided to me in these supports. I've tried numerous inserts and have had several Orthotics made from the Podiatrist through the years. Nothing really helped much. I then tried the Superfeet insoles. I tried every color they offer as I found the employees in stores really do not understand what they are selling. I even called Superfeet and I didn't find them knowledgeable about flat feet. I found for me the insert that worked best was the Green ones and I wear Hoka shoes. Doing so has worked great for the past 3 years until lately I'm back to square one. Off to see the Podiatrist next week for some serious pain and inflammation on the top of my foot. I can barely walk right now from the pain. Not sure what happened perhaps way to much walking up and down some big hills every day.

Did you get the Total Support Max or the Original?
@bluesky4385
@bluesky4385 Год назад
The Total support original. I hesitated buying it as it looked like it wasn't a high enough arch. At the time I was desperate and having a hard time finding inserts period. It's difficult buying them here, because the employees in stores are not trained to match people with products and that's obvious. Even in the few running stores I find in Central Florida, its the same song and dance. When I lived in Portland, Or I didn't have this problem. It's Nike country and a ton of running shoe stores with some very well trained employees. Many that are runners and fast walkers themselves and have dealth with their own foot problems. They know their shoes and inserts and how to match the customer with the products they are selling.
@sl2608
@sl2608 Год назад
@@bluesky4385 The Total Support Original bends with just the use of his hands, as he clearly shows in the video. Which means it will collapse even more when the full weight of your body is on it. So it will not provide as much arch support as you probably need. You might want to again watch his explanation of the differences between these two insoles starting at [2:15]. He clearly explains why the Total Support MAX is better and why he prefers it. I ordered the MAX, I knew from the video that the Original would not be supportive enough.

Every regular Family dr said I had flat feet when I was a kid and they were probably going to give me problems when I got older.
