Lmao I was in the gym changing the weights on the bench press bar, listening to this video and that’s EXACTLY what I thought when the detective asked him that lmao. I was hoping he’d say, “I don’t know!”. 🤣
that dude has the creepiest stare i have ever seen in my life. i had to look away every time a photo of him popped up in this video. so i can only imagine how much worse it was to have to look in his eyes irl. no wonder the detective looked away.
If you watched other videos about this case, you know that his affect is a complete and total DRAMA, he actually wrote on some blog that if he commits crime, he's going to be monotone and do everything to be considered insane.
The whole "if only Lauren had listened to her instincts she could have saved herself" line of thinking is absolutely bizarre. She _did_ heed her intuition; she didn't date Stephen and she was clear about why. She told people when something felt off in her apartment. She was moving out. Lauren isn't dead because she didn't save herself, she's dead because Stephen chose to stalk and murder her.
@Bejamin Parker you don't even need to study law to know that shit. It's common sense, if you had the evidence you wouldn't have had me in here for hours trying to get me to confess, you'd use the evidence.
@@ProperlyGaming The point of getting you to talk for hours is to get you to contradict the evidence they have. That way, they have a stronger case when they get to court, where evidence is presented. Never talk to the police.
There’s a mismatch of wit here. They picked the wrong detectives for his perp. The perp’s wit >>>> the detectives combined. They’re getting frustrated and shouting, , he’s reading that as weakness (in their case). He’s winning from where he’s sitting and it allows him to continue with that calm cool demeanor.
I can’t imagine the terror of fighting for your life for 15 minutes, let alone knowing it was your creepy, pervert neighbor that you knew was a threat.
The worst part is that it wasn't even that. She probably didn't see him as a threat at all. Yeah, she knew he was in love with her and she rejected him which was probably very akward but other than that he had acted kindly to her and she didn't suspect he'd do anything like that. That's the scariest part. You don't know what people hide...
“list me 3 friends you got cause they all said you ain’t friends” *names 3 specific people* “yep that’s exactly who we talked to and they hate you” 😂😂😂 i love these detectives
I'm going to be honest, if I had to interrogate someone like him, just staring at me like some Japanese grudge ghost, I would forget how to do my job too.
Same dude, tbh the thing that I think made it worse is, I doubt it was an act, I think he completely broke, like look at those bits where they leave the room, and he just blankly stares at the same spot, not even moving a muscle. Fucking creepy. I don’t think there was a way to break through that then and there.
Absolute great job 💯 I don’t condone murder but this is the way you conduct yourself when under interrogation. Didn’t stray off in the slightest way. I personally would have said lawyer for an hour straight but if your going to talk this is the way to go.
sounded like he was trying to coin a phrase, like Cochran's famous "if the glove dont fit" excuse...'if your hair's at the scene, what else could that mean?' wouldve been too wordy though, so he just went with the Four Word version...
In my opinion, the detectives seem like fine people. It's just that they never dealt with a suspect like this. I can see why they are getting frustrated
The trash truck was supposed to take the trash earlier, but got delayed. Detectives were just actually just barely able to make it to the dumpster before it was emptied. So if not for the trash delay, he would have gotten away with it.
Damn straight. The best comedy writers in the world couldn't come up with a scripted scene more hilarious than this. Think Super Troopers or better yet There's Something About Mary "serial killer" interogation scene. The friggin Farelly Bros couldn't dream of writing a script scene this good. Watch the full interogation. This is a heavily edited version. Some of the best material didn't make it here. Get any editing software & edit the full original interogation & u can edit straight to all the best parts & you'll have yourself a new comedy album to add to your playlist. Yeah it's that damn good.
olivia grace God bless! Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and died on a cross for our sins so we can live again in Heaven where there is no pain or suffering! God is our Father and Creator and raised His Son Jesus from the dead! Confess and repent of your sins and God will freely forgive you! Trust in God and live for Jesus as He died for you! 💕 (don’t swear or take God’s name in vain!)
For the hilarity of how bad the detectives’ strategies panned out, I have to at least give them credit for speedrunning basically every single one out of due diligence while knowing full well they’re dealing with a total nutter who won’t budge. I mean at one point he’s trying the “you gotta prove to people you’re not a monster! I know you’re not a monster! You’re sorry, I can see it in your face!” to a dude who killed a woman, dismembered her, put her dismembered torso in the trash and has been catonic for over an hour.
This is the greatest psychoanalysis video I've ever seen. This shits gold standard.I got chills when he said "Look at me son when I'm talkin to you" and then he slowly turns head as eyes meet and BAM full killer psycho face alive and fully alight.Chills man chills.
@@Unibot47 yoooo idk y that struck me so funny I guess cause I read ur comment and pictured his reaction all over again in my head but I just gut busted laughing so hard and loud I made my kids jump and my girl was making fun of me while I couldn't stop 🤣😂🤣😂☠️
The detective asked a negative then a positive question. He said yes to never looking at her like that, then no to having looked at her like that. He did not give contradictive anwsers.
When he started saying "have you hurt anyone before" and then went on to say, "well I've hurt people before..." I did think that it might go down that road. And all he did was sit there!!
In all fairness to the detectives, as easy as it is to joke about them, I can’t imagine having to deal with a catatonic zombie sat 3 feet away from me replying with “I don’t know” to every question.
@@feensekte all guys think about sex? that does mean anything lol, it was a shit question and it meant nothing, police did a disgusting job in this interview
i suspect the 2nd detective gets his superior strength standing UP to his bizarre behavior, cold staring gig, from being a believer..but i could be wrong..i also would LOVE to know exactly how Stephen behaved AFTER the interview for instance, how LONG he slept or didnt sleep, etc
i attribute my huge bs detector and HUGE amount of courage and steadfastness, persistence at a job worth doing such as this narcissist was worth the trouble, putting on his gig as he did, to the holy spirit, as i used to have a weaker bs detector, used to be less courageous, less steadfast and persistent, before i understood the Jezebel spirit perfectly well, AS I NOW DO - i know every trick in their m.o. now, having lived a life packed with over 200 yrs worth of EXPERIENCE and then studying my arise off, especially about THEM, my knowing i didnt know everything about life YET, i went to studying non stop. Now his guy obviously was a full blown psychopath level as one would dx him (altho i dont adhere to the lingo of the mental health coders exactly)...I sure would've loved to preach to HIM and watch him melt like a witch or a wizard DOES, like on the Wizard Of Oz, which is an area of my expertise, giftedness: that is, my melting witches and wizards alike. Truth! chuckle chuckle.
I genuinely don't think I've ever seen a more ridiculous interrogation. The detectives barely even tried, consistently got basic facts about the case wrong and instantly turned things up to 100. This interrogation gave them absolutely nothing because of how utterly futile and ill-planned their "tactics" were and the only reason Stephen was caught and charged was because of his own stupidity.
@AM-rs9uf i made that same comment lol. When the detective said blood was in his apt i wouldve been like "impossible bc i dismembered her in her house" and thats how i wouldve been caught
There are people that when you take one look at them, you can instantly see that they are batshit crazy…it’s in their eyes. This guy definitely belongs in that category
@@ferst262 nah they're right and it's not about looking "weird" it's about being a straight up creep that people can easily tell that you are by just looking at you
@@umii-jh5fr not really, if you judge someone on the looks, then you aren’t judging their attitude. You must be really messed up to judge people that easily.
Same hahaha. I didn't know about this channel until a few days ago and now I've watched multiple videos lol. Though, I did recognise the chris watts video I watched like a year ago.
The way he slowly turned his head after the detective told him "look at me boy when I'm talkin' to you " reminded me of "Chucky" and Stephen maintained that creepy posture during the entire interview
Is astounding how insane a seemingly somewhat regular person can be. Sure he gave her the creeps but no one noticed before he was seriously deranged and sick. Poor lady.
@@hoffawitz somewhat regular, when he was on the news. And the girl said he made her feel a bit creeped out, but not that he was a total creep or insane. If she sensed he was too out there then she most likely would have moved. He was regular enough for her to live next to, even after him.asking her out.
@@SizemicKick177 Most college students can't afford to move because their neighbour is weird, though. I agree that he looks mostly normal except for looking like he doesn't shower or cares about his looks, probably because his genetics gifted him with the face and jawline of a mouse kinda
I think it's pretty straight forward. He doesn't have power and he knows the people that do need something from him. Whether it's a outright confession or even a reaction to being insulted. He passive-aggressively gave them nothing and enjoyed watching their attempts fail while he buys time.
"have you lied to me at all during this interview?" "no" "yes you have. when was the last time that you did your laundry?" "a few weeks ago" "you haven't washed your clothes in a few weeks?" "I have a lot of clothes" "no you don't, that's another lie" when I tell you I CRACKED
I. DIED. Do you hear me?! When he was genuinely concerned why he wears the same underwear more than one day because they’re “still clean enough to wear ” 😩😩😂😂😂
He updates too, and starts looking at them whenever they talk. They tell him to look at the picture, and as soon as they start talking again he looks back at them.
Can we all agree JCS is the best channel for this. I’ve seen many trying to replicate the analysis but they don’t come close its just unfortunate JCS is no longer posting :(
It amazes me in the worst possible way when the culprits themselves are interviewed in the news and especially when they can put up such a convincing act. Pure evil.
It's actually an easy thing to do as a predator. If you dehumanize your prey to the point where you can take their life, then being interviewed about it would be easy to think you're not the bad guy.
@@AaronBacon_ I was referring to this specific case though. Usually they wouldn't do that if there was no doubt about the innocence of the suspect. That is what I was talking about.
@@AaronBacon_ Also again, I don't understand what you mean as all of the videos from this channel I have watched have shown interrogations where the suspect is guilty, and the tactic is used because of reasonable doubt for that so..
@@Juubelimies Intimidation and character destruction is absolutely a tactic that has been known to be used on suspects who turn out to be innocent. Maybe you haven’t heard about a lot of cases, but forced confessions from FBI + police interrogators are very common, and it doesn’t take a lot to deduce that a lot of what goes on in these rooms is breaking down of the suspect’s character and morale in order to get a confession.
@@ethanwnuk7999 they mentioned he was studying for his BAR exam. if he really wanted to be criminal lawyer, it wouldn't be to far off to assume he read about investigation tactics and potential counters. For example if you truly believe the lie you are telling, you can fool a lie detector. its really interesting because this shit is better than any crime movie.
@Fallen Engel Well it's not stuff for like food. In his case he really thought his actions were ok. Of course it fucks you up but that can depend on the person and how much traning and knowledge they have.
@@BGRUBBIN I mean you don’t have to actually believe your own lie to fool lie detectors. If you just learn to control your heart rate and breathing, or are not stressed at all, you’ll also pass. Hence why lie detectors are inadmissible as evidence, they’re pretty inaccurate.
