I remember when Captain Marvel came out in 2018 and everyone was up in arms about that. Of course everyone said we were wrong. Now look at the MCU.

For me, the biggest issue was I lost investment in the MCU when I needed to watch the TV shows to fully understand what's going on. I don't have Disney+. This was made clear with Dr Strange 2. Plus Wanda is my favourite Avenger, so it just seems messed up to maybe kill off another major female character before she gets her own hero film.

Whenever a franchise has to start majorly relying on multiverses for story and not as a one off thing, you know they're struggling. Multiverses always end up making a mess and bring more troubles than they worth. Same with time travel too, Endgame's time travel was horrible.

Never knew The Sopranos had a prequel film. Cheers for that! You ever hear of the fan-made supercut of the Infinity Saga? It takes every scene from every film,, including deleted/extended ones & puts them in chronological order. I'd imagine there's some narrative whiplash going from one film to the other but wouldn't be too bad if you already know the stories. Seems like an interesting way of revisiting them.

23:49 I'm actually gonna back up your point here by stating. The main difference from watching through all the Daredevil episodes, is that each of the individual episodes are interesting and carry their own story for that specific episode. It's not like all the episodes are filler until you get to the end of the season. Much like old cartoons we watched as a kid, we were mainly focused on what happened in that episode alone. Heck, as a kid I didn’t even know what a season was, whenever a showed reached the end of a specific plotline and I didn’t see anything from that show for a while I assumed it was canceled. Until I realized that shows have seasons that sometimes took months to make before release. Anyway, my point is when you make a show it shouldn't just be about getting to the main point at the end. But every episode should tell a story. Whether it's a character struggling to overcome his fear of heights, or wants to ask out his crush, maybe even face the school bully who's been picking on him since the first episode. Little things like this keeps your audience invested and lets them know that the plot is progressing and leading somewhere even though they have no idea what's at the end.

Actually I think Lost was the biggest wake up call, to say the entire world was tuned into Lost would be an understatement, Lost was everywhere, everyone was on the edge of their seats for every single episode, hoping to get answers to all the questions being asked in the series, only for the final season to be a big fat "Fuck You" to everyone who spent years watching that series

I didn't watch Game of Thrones when it originally came out and in fact I took a chance on it and binge-watched it from beginning to end and at first the season 1 through 4 I was fucking and amazed of astonishment of how awesome it was and then by the time it got to that last season I was fucking so pissed off I'll never ever do anything like that again

The MCU was a masterclass of long term storytelling and the M-CLOWN-U is a cautionary tale on what not to do with a franchise and all this proves is that we were right the whole time. Plus a reboot isn't going to change or save anything for the damage has been done and the problems will always be there.

I say start over with the X-Men and Fantastic Four as period pieces. Hell, do a batch of mini-series or low-budget TV films for the original six X-Men that lead into an ensemble film. The sequel to the first X-Men film can bring in Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and maybe Colossus with possible mini-series for each of them. Third X film can introduce Gambit, Rogue and Jubilee or Psylocke with the same series introductions. Villains in order: Magneto with Brotherhood, Mr. Sinister with Friends of Humanity as secondary villains, and Apocalypse with Four Horseman and Mystique. A second trilogy could be a new Days of Future Past story, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix movies with Lilandra. F4 can start with the trip to space. Villains can be Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus then The Mad Celestial.

I will still never forgive them for ruining Jennifer/She-Hulk, she was such a fun and likeable character.

I usually agree with you, but this time in regard to how the MCU should revive interest is to do what Peter Jackson did with LOTRs. Make a series of 3 films dealing with something like Inhumans and in each film introduce a side character from a different storyline--like say have Johnny Storm fall in love with Crystal (as in the comics) but it is a side story, and the Human Torch does not get involved in any action scenes until the final battle. After the battle have him take Crystal home to meet the other Fantastic Four who have just returned from somewhere in space. This then serves as a gateway for the FF film, but the NEXT film in the trilogy would then be something like Blackbolt's learning to control his power--the death, at his hands, of his parents, all of it with the villain of the piece being someone who wants to use Rogue (X-Men) to steal his power and the efforts the other Inhumans--and Johnny Storm, who by now will be in a long-term relationship with Crystal--battling together. As they all start to fall, in comes the FF and the villain is defeated, limping back to his master, Galactus. The final film then plays out the battle of the X-Men, Inhumans, and FF battling Galactus, and in the end, defeating him only when Dr. Strange shows up to lend an hand. This type of filmmaking ensures that all the stars are the same age for all three films, the course of the three part story is spelled out and easy for all to follow, and each film stands on it's own.

Tired of bad storytelling, over reliance on CGI, and radical left ideology constantly breaking any possibility of immersion. No. There are billions of opinions to waste our time on. No reason to be disappointed by Disney, AGAIN.

I felt upset by not stopping myself from watching the flash series after season 3, leading to a dumpster finale and wasting 6 seasons of watch time. As well as wasting one and half years of watching mcu phase 4. Smallville I think is definitely worth to watch in my opinion. The finale is good not great but it managed to wrap the arc of Clark Kent becoming Superman. Also, it had weak seasons as well

I'm not trying to defend the MCU which indeed has been in declice since the Infinity Saga ended, but I don't see why "woke identity politics" are such a bad thing when the Spider-Verse movies for example are woke as fuck and people love those, hell so was Everything Everywhere All At Once which seems to be one of the few best picture winners general audiences agree with the acadmy on. That said I'm totally with you about the MCU's bloatedness... There's way too much to keep up with, not to mention the visual effects come out looking like shit and putting a massive strain on the workers pumping them out, the VFX industry needs to unionize!

Long the days of each film crossing a billion dollars except event level films like the avengers. Here's my list on how to fix Marvel for good, hopefully it happens; 1. They have to cut ties with Disney, I know, sounds crazy but it's true. Ever since Endgame, Disney had someway pressure/forced Marvel into making god-awful content (except some few shows/movies), never allowing them to take any risks on creating good-storytelling anymore, rewriting good characters into unlikable/hateful jerks for no reason and hiring bad writers who clearly don't know the characters very well. They have to end they're distribution deal with them for good and go to another company that can be more trustful then Disney (my vote's on Paramount, possibly Sony or Universal). In my opinion, I never liked the idea of Disney owning Marvel. 'Cause their "family-friendly" brand company and I don't think they're fitfull for this type of franchise, but after seen the disaster that phase 4, this clearly proves it. 2. They have to cancel the MCU. It's gotten so messy that it they should've just let the franchise end in Endgame but choose to continue without thinking this through. But since the damaged is done, they're gonna have to cut down the entire content they've put and have to cancel all of this upcoming movies and shows. They have good potencial but they have to let them go and move on to do something interesting 3. Reboot the franchise. If they want to continue making movies and shows, they have to reboot the entire marvel universe with an already established universe (like James Gunn's DCU but on their own way) while adding other characters who never appear in the previous universe (like the X-Men, FF, Runaways, Defenders, Young Avengers, Inhumans, Power Pack, etc). But at the same time, think about the timeline to line it up perfectly, hired better writers that actually knows the comics, good directors with creative vision, let them have some creative control (not too much control) and try to tackle different genres for storytelling. 4. Create standalone/team-up shows (like the CW's DC shows) or Elseworld anthology shows as a way to tell the stories in a proper way while create movies for a bigger event in the franchise's storyline. 5. Fire Feige. Even due he has done great job on creating Phase 1-3, but that shit was in the PAST. He has now become someone who doesn't what he's doing and being manipulated/pressured that I think He can't no longer make something good, so I think is best to find someone else to replace him.

Honestly I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with “stealing” fan favorite characters from other franchises so set up different universes. The 2 big problems with doing that, however, is that if you do that you must actually continue character arcs and create new stories and not simply use them as cameos. For example if in leading up to secret wars they wanted Tobey’s spider man and Hugh Jacckman’s wolverine as the leads (like Tony and Cap for the infinity saga) they could make a spider man 4(with Tobey) and a wolverine movie to continue their stories and create character beats that can be concluded and payed off in secret wars (like how they did with Tony’s arc regarding his fear of aliens invading). Ofc this would also require great writing cause that’s always an issue. But considering all they’ve been doing is cheap cameos, and character butchering I wouldn’t have faith in this. But just imagine in a perfect world if they continued legacy characters stories in new movies, creating buildup that would be payed off in secret wars when all the universes collide. That’d be awesome. You can even have them meet earlier than secret wars through Incursions with some of their worlds colliding before the big event. They could also connect Kang (or doom if trials go wrong) to these incursions to have him have an pre established relationship to these characters before hand. Unfortunately that isn’t the route they took. They instead decided to use C list hero’s and shit writing to create a confusing narrative that’ll never work. Fuck Marvel. They had so many options of where to go but they chose the worst one.

Personally I don't think the series were Marvels call but Disney's for one big reason Marvel could have still just released films on Disney+ like with Black Widow, turning the projects into TV series does nothing to help their end game only Disney's, and if they could stop and go back to solely movies having seen Phase 4 not work why wouldn't they? The streaming shows just don't make sense for Marvel, only for Disney But after One Piece, I do believe that the bad writing is the main issue not the bloat, because if the content was good people would STILL engage with it and most likely wouldn't even BE considered "bloat", like how so many people decided to pick up the One Piece anime and Manga after seeing the Live Action, it's not too much content, it's too much BAD content

You missed out of the picture Agents of SHIELD series, I think. It _was_ trying to do what you suggested for Daredevil (have Daredevil 3/4/5 instead of Defenders). The show followed fan favourite character from MCU, beloved by fans - Coulson, i.e. had some hard carries from the start. The series did not branch out - it did 7 seasons one after another, a total of 136 series. It was still a failure ultimately :( Because no one cared then, and no one cares now. Because it was not that interesting by itself. Opposite example is Starz' Suits - which did suffer from excessive bloat in later seasons, was trying really hard to establish spinoffs, etc. Yet it did have balls to face the fact that story and characters are finished - and just focus on actually ending the story however was the most optimal way ("let's just make Harvy retire, and marry Donna"). It was good decision - they managed to not ruin the legacy of the show. I guess in this day and age, this is is already an accomplishment.

The final nail in the coffin for the MCU will be when an Avengers movie flops. (Which with the way, things are going, seems like it will happen)

Call me crazy but I never once indulged in Game of Thrones, The Sopranos or Breaking Bad simply because I never cared for dramas. In fact I was directly against them for the simple fact that they got all the attention, all the awards and they were all that people talked about. Sure I’ve heard nothing but good things about them, save for GoT’s series finale, but I never saw the appeal. As for Marvel, I was never a hardcore fan, same with DC, though I did enjoy the animated shows like Marvel’s Avengers, Batman TAS and Beyond as well as Justice League but the movies that I enjoyed were few and far between. I’m at that point where I don’t even acknowledge the existence of the MCU and DCU. Shoot, the only show that I am currently interested in seeing is Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

The thing I can't believe in regards to Game of Thrones, is that millions of people ever thought it was good in the first place. Like no. It was sh*t from Day 0, by which I mean Martin's Song of Lice and Dire cr*p. It was garbage mysery pron, for idiots, who think that nudity+gore=mature, cynicism=realism and "everyone's an @$$hole"=nuanced. It was the same kind of overrated garbage as the Star Wars EU, or Attack on Titan.
