@@yoslo6832 yes that's clearly how things played out in the footage as we saw it, I just wondered if they'd maybe been bending their own established kinda 'rules' for dramatic affect. Sure it's both funny and a great visual metaphor when Huey gets goo splattered all over him, and all that material still would've been pulverized, but maybe wouldn't be able to break out of the skin no matter the high pressure propelling it. btw, I make no bones that this is anything other than really nerdy nitpicking lol don't even consider it a knock on the episode, just how my brain works to notice this stuff

It'd likely be somewhere in the middle, there could still be some innards coming from those orifices to spray out, but still be his whole skin left behind on the floor in one glob. I can't believe I've now thought about this particular topic this long.

I agree with your theory, but I think they wanted a repeatedly splattered Huey as a running theme in the show, so did that instead. But I definitely agree that Translucent's skin should have contained the explosion.

although as the end of episode 1 played out, that's absolutely what I thought. The look on Stillwell's face and the tone of her voice replying to the guy blackmailing her and saying something like "have a good trip back home", I automatically thought okay she's gonna have this prick killed. It was only her scene with Homelander the next episode when I realized he did it on his own.

True, but just like in our world, the big bucks comes when you get that government contract. That's why you see Tesla and Amazon fiending to create tech that in hopes they get their tech in to government hands. In The Boys, the tech is the Supes

I have found this as one of the odder aspects of the whole narrative (which is probably saying something). I would absolutely expect there to be the major media pieces like movies made about these supes in this kind of reality, but it being themselves literally doing that acting is kinda weird. Especially considering they're obviously the lead roles in them so it's lots of work that they have to spend on that, like if I'm in the public, going "if it's meaningful that we need you as a genuine superhero in our daily lives, you can also afford to work many hours a day for several months on a movie set?" It seems fine they'd still be able to have this manufactured and cultivated lucrative image and relationship with the public being adored and all that as a 7 member but simply having actors play the role in movies or shows. If I'm remembering right in Spiderman:Far From Home, we saw that while the MCU is a reality with superheroes but entertainment done about them is done by others. edit: oh my bad, I only just realized I think I might've misunderstood the intent of your question a bit. In the making of my point I wasn't even really thinking about the specific detail of the supes being officially used by the govt, just them doing their hero routine in general. But yeah to echo the other person's response now that I see, my point still goes of they don't necessarily have to actually star in the movies made about them, but there's definitely the massive financial incentive to have proper military association as opposed to not.

it seems kind of inevitable though that they would have. Especially when you literally just needed him for like two separate shots in that finale, the actor's I think right smack in the age range where he's going to be looking different rapidly (like the constant "Walt problem" on Lost) so almost a year later and it being substantial screen time, you need to recast.

@@ThanatoselNyx genuine question: I thought "assault" only correctly applies when there's direct physical contact. like I would say it certainly seems more/worse than "propositioned" because he's literally got his dick out and stroking it while he's making the threat, so I thought perhaps something inbetween proposition and assault. Still of course reprehensible and actionable, but wouldn't necessarily classify as assault. Harass, I'm guessing?

I was thinking about just the beginning of the scene, when she first does the heel turn and realize what he's doing as he's talking to her. But then they cut to her puking in the bathroom after the actual act, so yeah of course that plenty qualifies as assault.
