All i gotta say is, Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko) is a great actress for having no dialogue! (also has a great youtube channel, showed how to make spaghetti Carbonara last week 😉👌🏿) Also, I'm so glad they brought Goran Visnjic back! He was SUCH a fantastic actor in E.R (aging myself 🙄) I'm so glad he's still getting some decent roles! ALSO also, Mothers Milk is gangsta for STILL wearing his chain over top of his nurse gown 😂 had me dyin! 👌🏿
She also does her own stunts. There was a video on The Boys subreddit that showed her blocking out the fight scene in (I think) episode 5. She just swung around that dudes neck like it was nothing.
Side note, as an avid shooter and tactically minded guy, Butcher’s shooting of the supe was great. Tight 3 shot grouping to the heart, and as they flash to him, you see how he dropped down on one knee for the shot stability. I loved seeing that attention to detail, and it reminds us that Butcher really is a badass with the skills to back it up. 👌👌🤓
I can not express how impressed you are with how to accurately represent how to shoot to death another person (Innocent or not). but I for one, wake up with a hard on after having dreams of the perfect kill shot. It's so fucking awesome seeing a human shoot another human to death with expert precision. I mean, what could be better? I say there is nothing better than the perfect execution of another person.
Whew, Tango may have went full Homelander on us guys! 😂😬 **Upon rewatch, I should correct myself, he doesn’t drop to a knee, rather takes the shots from his knee on the way back up. He was blasted down by the EMP supe kid. Small detail error in my original comment, but wanted to clarify! Butcher forever 🤘🤘
It would make sense if Edgar is Argentinean and his parents or grandparents sheltered Frederick Vought and Stormfront after the war then they immigrated to the United States.
Only problem with that theory is that at least in the comics, it’s said that Vought defected to the Allies as the war ended, so it wouldn’t make sense for him to go to Argentina since he would’ve already been in America at the time.
The Starlight and Billy stuff brought down the whole episode for me. I was utterly bewildered that she would be acting this callous already. Of any major character, she’s probably had the least exposure to death and violence and now she’s joking around with Billy in the hospital 20 minutes after killing someone for the first time?
SwampFox yeah when she said “he’s too good for us” to billy in the hospital; I was like where the fuck is this coming from? Glad I’m not the only one who was thrown off by that.
I was begging Homelander would fry Storefront so bad. Crazy that I was rooting for such a despicable character to do just ONE thing right, lol. Such good writing.
I agree. She is probably the biggest shareholder as Vought's wife. The question is if her identity as Stormfront is a known factor to Edgar or if she managed to infiltrate her own company under a new identity.
@@StellaTZH Bingo. "It's a coup from the inside"... pop. She's going to take over the company and repurpose it to align with Vought's original intent. Edgar's days are numbered... I also found it interesting that they noted in this episode that Stormfront's weapon = Starlight's power source... :D
@@Snyde70 I had the same thought. I'm willing to bet we'll see Starlight use Stormfront's own electricity against her. I also think Stormfront might die, accelerating Homelander's descent into madness. I'm just not sure if it's going to happen in season two or later.
@@StellaTZH I don't think Edgar matters, especially if she is the boss. After she stopped being Liberty it is very possible she just ran things from behind the curtain so to speak.
Did anyone else think for a moment when they saw the spin-off series announcement that it was going to be about the supes that escaped from Sage Grove?
You guys are hands down my favorite breakdown to listen to for The Boys! Every time I watch a new episode, I’m fiending for the Nerd Soup review. Keep up the great and down to earth work guys!
To continue the theme of burrowing from other movies. Edgar is Vought (Get Out). Trying to create the perfect body to transfer his mind out of the Edgar body to.
I liked how the Maeve video of the airplane crash featured a guy who said, as he was about to die: "tell the boys I love them" Clever writing in this show.
The trailer for next episode looks insane! Starlight is revealed to be a traitor and it looks like the seven are holding her hostage at Vought tower. While Lamplighter is helping the boys break into the tower to rescue her. That's my guess anyway. It looks like another infiltration mission episode. We will probably get that fight between Black Noir and Starlight, that we saw in one of the season 2 trailers, this episode too!
Fun fact: "the bloody doors off" probably comes from a line in the old Michael Caine film "The Italian Job". Great episode. America has always had a hard crush on Fascism. Heck, the Nazis used American ideas to shape their ideology (especially with regard to language and propaganda, racism/antisemitism)
One of the Nerds said Black Noir is Butchers brother ...... well Lenny shot himself in the mouth but somehow lived and Butchers mother made a comment about Lenny needing to prove he is tough because of the abuse from their dad.....
Edgar IS VOUGHT. He body swaps. And his end goal is to body swap with homelander. Stormfront is getting close to homelander because that’s her future husbands body. EDGAR IS VOUGHT.
Best thought thus far, it makes total sense and explains his lack of fear. We can nah it whenever. Also makes homelander mortal, killing his basis for an identity.
The 11 looking girl is definitely Silver Kincad from the comics who has the same power, she also a G Men and the acid dude from the hospital is a G men so I think the spin off is 100% something with the G Men.
This show has shown they will take care of hints by the next episode if not the next two. Just like the exploding super villain Black Noir dispatched of, I expect Cindy will go after Stormfront and be killed by SF next episode or in the finale
I've got a problem and I see that nobody is talking about it...in "the boy's" univers anti-sup materials exists...like the doors that held Cindy and the other experiments in this episode or the "glass" in the lazer eyed baby! I feel like it's a big loop hole of the show because they never mention it and the boy's could really need them for protection or as wepons...
Being someone who hasn't read The Boys comics, it's cool to see some parallels from the Suicide Squad but for both sides of the story. How the Colonel assembled the boys reminds me of Amanda Walder as well as the fact that Voght have chips inside the supes that they control and as far as I know could be explosive. And then we just toss some Nazi shit in there. 😂
Is it possible that Edgar wants Homelanders son to lead a superhero army? But what is his goal? An actual good justice league? Stormfront is definitely put in place to put Homelander in check and I assume she is manipulating Homelander for her own goals. 🤔🤔 So Homelander is just a super powered pawn in Edgar/stormfront chess game that will prob turn on one or both of them.?
One of my favourite things this episode did was flesh out Lamplighter. Dude's been in 1 episode (not counting the 2 seconds of foreshadowing previously) & he's one of my favourite characters on the show. I wouldn't be at all mad if he joined up with the boys as a way to atone for the evil shit he's done.
I'm weighing in my 2 cents. I don't think lamplighter retired from the Seven because of the murder of Mallory's children. It took him eight years to grieve that? no, It seems more likely he was recruited by Stormfront to burn the evidence as he mentions in the episode, but Vought is who changed his assignment. The two incidents don't seem to link up. Secondly, when Stormfront tells Homelander about who she is, her past and what Vought represents to her and what they need to do to change the world. He only becomes interested in her proposition when she says "You will lead us". she manipulates his narcissism and that is the only reason he engages her conversation more. He is only interested in his own image and Stormfront is well aware of that.
Seems Cindy, whilst also having telekinetic abilities as Kenji did, is way more powerful, so it'd be interesting to see her joining The Boys or at least going all out against either Stormfront or Homelander, hope they keep her for a bit, though..
I’m really loving this season, and your reviews too of course. I completely forgot about Lamplighter, like I don’t remember his name at all. I kept thinking I’d missed an episode somewhere. Am I the only one who didn’t remember this from the first season?
Lamplighter may have been still in the 7 but wasn't handling the PTSD very well so they eventually removed him. Or he was officially still on it, but taking time off.
Perfectly fine if you put spilers in the video, but please don't put spoilers in the thumbnail... Big or small, I'd rather not know that Homelander and Stormfront kiss in ep 6 when I'm only on 3.
So I think they might create the super hero army or like start producing it by finishing the compound v to give it to grown adults, the boys are gonna get a hold of some and use it to hold their own like how they do in the comics
I don´t truly understand how could people watch this. Two guys talking about the perspective you already have. I don´t get it, truly i don´t. Yet they millions of subscribers.
Anyone know is Starlight is bulletproof? I thought she was since she withstood a 50cal round.... Not sure how Frenchy was able to remove the tracker from her neck?
One thing I don’t get about A-Train is how is this man In 7 figure debt is he was working with Vaught. Like if he was spending a lot I would think I’d pay checks would easy pay it off but who knows
@@grelkie Maybe for Vought to manufacture, but I don't think they are selling it to A-Train over the counter... and who would be selling it to him, Edgar?
Grelk exactly! That’s what I mean they have had it multiple times throughout the first season and I don’t think they payed for it and I know Homelander didn’t and that vaught wanst supplying cause they didn’t even know he made the supe terrorist
Johny Smith yeah but he was giving it to atrain to spread and smuggle not use for personal use. A-train probably asked him for some for personal use and homelander probably made him pay
