Ok so another mind blowing episode of the Boys has just dropped and as always we're here to break down the entire episode from start to finish.
I just wanna get straight into it but if you haven't had a chance to check out the latest episode then I highly recommend that you check out now as there's gonna be spoilers here for the show and comics. Make sure you smash the thumbs up button if you've been enjoying the coverage so far and please subscribe so you don't miss our breakdown of the finale.
As always this is the heavy spoilers, I'm your host Paul, now let's get into the breakdown.
The Boys Episode 6 Breakdown
Ok so Episode 7 opens in the room of a diehard stormfront fan, known in the show as stormchasers. The poster of her that's adorned above her bed is actually extremely similar to one of the most popular images of the shows comic book counterpart and after learning of her true history last week, it's nice that we start to see how these line up.
There's also an image of a soldier boy poster and though we don't catch the full face of the character just yet, a statue of him does appear towards the end of the entry.
Throughout this intro we witness how the constant piling on of one message can heavily influence people and it's clearly a comment on exetremists being swayed by either political or celebrity figure.
Alistair mentions that he has a meeting with Edgar to get the pair back into Vought and it's starting to seem like there's some big master plan to keep certain people off the board for specific moments. We see that Shockwave, aka A-train's replacement get's killed at the end of the episode in an attack that is likely carried out by Cindy, who we know has been working for Stormfront from time to time.
So with him out the way it does seem like A-train will be back in the seven soon but I have to wonder whether this was all planned out and that's how Alistair was able to get him back in so quickly.
Adana also says that no one from the church is to associate with Eagle the Archer and I thought it was hilarious how The Deep said he was the most kind and caring person ever until Adana said he was toxic and he was just like yup, now you mention it, he was...he was a bit toxic.
He saw the failure in the programme and the scientology esque organisation booted him out because he wouldn't cut off contact with his mother. I guess the fresca brainwashing didn't work and they then leaked personal information about him. Obviously this kinda hints at what the church will do to The Deep and A-Train if they decide to leave and it's gonna be interesting to see what happens if they say No to the church.

that was the only "amazing" episode of this season season 1 was brilliant, season 2 has been slow and lost its touch, its had its moments but still nothing special like the first season this episode was great and im really hyped for the final episode

Black noir’s skin texture made me think of deadpool with the scarring, along with his healing factor and combat skills, and since the boys creates polar opposite characters it could explain why he is always silent rather than constantly talking

I don't think it's Cindy, cause when she uses her powers, the whole body is blown up. But all the mind blowing scenes are of their heads only. I think they are gonna use Cindy in the final episode to really thicken the plot and complicate things for the Seven and the Boys. Edit: some good points i see in the comments -stormfront probably thinks Cindy is already dead -Cindy hates Vought, and you see the horror of Lamplighter when she escapes -We are led to believe she the one behind the exploding heads

Disagree about Cindy being behind all the Scanner deaths. For one thing, she clearly hates Vought and Stormfront for keeping her locked up in Sage Grove. For another, when she uses her powers on the guard, his entire body explodes, not just his head. Lastly, she still would have been in hospital when Raynor was killed. It's clear they cannot control her. Stormfront puts her down as soon as she sees her. I think they are adapting one of the stories from the original comics, in which a special dose of Compound V could be used to explode the heads of Supes it was administered to. I believe the Church of the Collective has dosed the Fresca we keep seeing people drink with this. It explains why all the deaths - Raynor, Voglebaum, Shockwave etc - benefit either Vought or the Church.

David Coutts , I agree that I don’t think it’s Cindy behind the exploding heads. But if the Fresca is dosed why didn’t anything happen to Deep or A-Train ? Also I don’t think Raynor would be drinking open drinks from strangers and the same with the people at the hearing.

What I think will happen is Ryan will see how Homelander and Stromfront really are and he’ll want to go back to Becca. Also I think this episode makes it clear that Black Noir isn’t a clone of Homelander, the little bits of his face we see is far more narrow than Homelander, plus all the burns all over his face.

My theory is that the blow head thing is linked to the Church-Vought since the only sup, "Shockwave", died at the end. That would help A-train to get back in the seven, the Head of the Church seemed so confident that it would happen. So he knew about this massacre.

Maeve's line, "You kept saying you wanted to know the real me, THIS is the real me" was also a observation on modern relationships. People think they want to know everything about someone, and won't just accept what the other person is willing to give them, and leave it at that. After getting everything, they are unequipped or incapable of handling what they thought they wanted. Really powerful stuff, especially after the long set up from Maeve's girlfriend BEGGING AND CRYING to have full disclosure and honesty. Take what people give, listen to what they tell you, respect boundaries and we will all have much better relationships, with everyone.

It’s definitely not Cindy. I think the church leader is actually a supe with this power. His pull with Vought is now complete, it’s no coincidence that the meeting between him and Stan was right before this hearing. It only makes sense that the church with connections to supes has a supe as the head of it.

Yes and what makes it so good is the show is smart enough not to try to tell people how to feel. It just lays out the facts and shows the characters as they are and you have to make the decisions yourself. Homelander is basically a trump with superpowers but they give him layers so that you see how he became monstrous. It doesn’t mean you think it’s okay, but you understand how his childhood wrecked him.

Seth Solomon. I think you’re missing or misinterpreting the point. Better writers make their points with more subtlety, as these ones do. They give us fully rounded characters so that we aren’t steered towards a specific response to those characters. They explore moral ambiguities or allow us to empathize with characters who might appear as obvious villains, so that we empathize with how they evolved without condoning who they became. Better writers make their themes with subtlety.

THEORY: I think Ryan is going to be head exploded like the bloodbath in the court , hence there is a sad and bloody homelander's face looking at the camera in the trailer. But keep in mind, even though you don't like Snyder, the show runners use a lot of his DC themes and ideas in their show. So, they must like him too. Butcher is so going for the V now. Seeing how they can't get anywhere with just surveillance and spy tactics the Boys kinda need to even the playing field. And i would bet the forshadowing from the supe hospital and Butcher intimidating Vogelbaum will lead them to it next season. It does seem that way, doesn't it? My only two (personal) objections to this development would be: 1) keeping The Boys depowered maintains their underdog status and forces them to be quick on their feet, rely on brains over brawn and 2) in order not to protect the whole team with plot armor, either Butcher, MM, Frenchie or Hughie would have to explode - I'm not quite ready for that yet but would actually accept Hughie as the sacrifice

I dont think following the comics all the time will be helpful here. A normal clone of Edgar makes more sense then it being his son in my opinion. Unless he specifically impregnated someone with the intent of turning him into noir. Which would basically be like organic cloning haha

I think supe weaknesses is a subtle theme of this episode. Like you said, stormfront's weakness is starlight. Lamp lighter can manipulate fire but wasn't immune to it. Black noir was taken down by tree nuts. This might be setting up to reveal a weakness for homelander

I think its Edgar exploding people with something he's put in the Compound V. It would make sense that he would have a "switch" to stop any supe that became too powerful. Any one he needs exploded who wasnt a supe must have been exposed some other way that im not sure of yet. But it also makes sense that alistor said he was talking to Edgar and then a spot opens up for ATrain.... Its also weird the season started with a bunch of Vought drama and then faded away - its time to come full circle on how Vought the company is tied into all of this

This whole episode had me so stressed out, I thought for sure one of the boys were gonna die because each one had this little moment where there was too much pause (MM walking with the CIA lady, Frenchie on the roof, Hughie reuniting with Starlight). That ending had me feeling sick to my stomach. I guess I it feels so real like it looks like a political rally and a court hearing and especially with this upcoming American election I fear about the carnage that the results will bring (in either direction). I have a theory : in starlights ( erin Moriarty) Instagram there is a picture with Hughie and butcher in a forest type place with a cabin the background. And in the trailer we see homelander lazer someone in a cabin type place and then we see him covered in blood in a forest type place looking shocked. So I think that I the next episode butcher,Becca, the entire crew are staying low and somehow Homlander known were they are and goes to attack them and at end its either rayn or stormfront who dies.

I think it’s pretty heavy handed that they’re setting up butcher to actually be a genuinely decent dad with Ryan, just based of this episode and themes alone. Hughie will help him along the way. The only question is if Becca has to die for all of this to happen..

7:56 is very true. This incident happened in UP, a State in North India known only for rapes and brutal crimes He was a minister from ruling party BJP. He raped a 16 years old girl. Girls father will killed inside Police station allegedly with help of UP Police Just recently, a "lower caste" women was gangraped by 4 "Upper caste" men, they cut her tongue and broke her spinal cord, she died after 14 days struggling for life, UP Police burned her body at night 2:30 AM to destroy all evidence. This is what extreme right wing party like BJP has done to India.

This episode confirmed several things about Black Noir as well: 1) Not a Homelander clone, as far as we know, Homelander does not have a tree nut allergy and Black Noir is not White. Yes, I know the actor playing Black Noir is not White, but his face was never revealed before. 2) Not a Homelander clone because Maeve overpowered him, something she could not do to Homelander. 3) Not a Homelander clone as he is heavily scarred. The Nuke supe damaged one side of his face. However, we saw that his whole bottom jaw at least is heavily scarred.

I think it's not "working for" so much as "cruelly manipulated by" is what people think since the people at Sage Grove have been part of experiments and we don't know the extent of them or all of the goals of those experiments...

I like that this show draws connections to today's world. The racism, that event Stormfront & Homelander had was like Trump's event, & disregarding the feelings of the LGBTQ community & only using them for "representation".

Crazy Theory, maybe Stormfront can mimic other's powers. She might be an empath in this version of the Boys. Think about it, her powers are kind of all over the place. Maybe she has cloned Cindy's power and other's from the facility.

I think Black Noir could possibly be Edgar’s son. He may possibly still have the same purpose as the Black Noir from the comics except not a clone. Not the same abilities, but he may know Homelander’s one weakness that Homelander doesn’t even know. The clone in the comics killed Homelander easily, but was damaged to the point where Billy Butcher just killed Black Noir with a crowbar.
