Episode really hit me hard with black noir, my man was silent but was one of the best characters in the show…. Rip noir

My heart dropped at the end scene with Ryan smiling. It's the endless cycle of bad father-son relationship. Thank God they didn't kill Queen Maeve ❤️

You didn't mention Maeve escaping from a Safe truck which is a nod to her first appearance in Season 1 when she destroys the Safe Truck.

Ryan seeing his dad kill someone ,and then see everyone cheer is giving him God complex like his dad, he's being influenced thank to butcher messing up ,and saying something he didn't mean '. The writing is amazing I got chills at the end. Next season is probably gonna be butcher trying to save Ryan from ending up like homelander.

Can we just talk abt how Soldier Boy confesses to Butcher his dad called him a disappointment and then when he meets Homelander he says the exact same thing to him. I was like “Bruh :0”

stormfront being homelander's mom would work on so many levels lol. she seems like the type who would do that.

I believe we were all thinking that in the end of all this, Homelander will go full psycho, not having an ounce of humanity in him left, and becoming an absolute demon. But when when he and maeve fought, his maturity when just blocking Maeve's attacks, his determination, his focus and clarity on his goal to fight Soldier Boy was incredibly and terrifyingly intimidating. It's as if him becoming more human and embracing his human side is much more terrifying then him getting rid of it. I'd love for the show to go in that direction where Homelander, instead of cutting off his "weakness", he embraces those emotions and desires, making him much less of a demon, but definitely more of a sociopathic devil.

Didn't like how they handled the Black Noir, it could've been done better. Definitely a missed opportunity to show us what he's like at his best...

Black noir was like the darth maul of the modern era. He had like 30 minutes of screen time lol but man, I almost cried for him. But I have a feeling he’ll be back somehow. Dude had his brains literally smashed out and lived

Soldierboy did not become like his father. The point is that Soldierboy sees Homelander as him and he believes his father. Soldierboy thinks of himself as weak, emotional bad person and sees that Homelander is just like him. That is why he says that.

Soldier boy was by far my favorite character this season. Great performance by Ackles. We need to see him again. Salty noir kicked the bucket! Another great season

I really like that Maeve hurt homelander in their fight, it shows that she's always been strong enough to fight him but hasn't because of fear

One thing everyone has completely forgotten about, Cindy, who's power seems to be controlling or imploding anything and everything, not really sure, escaping Red River in season 2... Kripke confirmed she will definitely be back. There's no definitive display of how powerful she is comparatively but it seemed like she's one of the most overpowered we've seen on the show.

Antony Starr was the true star of this episode but they need to start making some real changes coming next season. Either Butcher needs to finish the job or he's got to go. They can't repeat this whole getting close and then going back to the beginning at the end over and over again.

of all the main characters that could have died this season black noir was the only one who shouldn't have died, maeve and A-train could have died without problems, maeve with her sacrifice and A-train with his heart attack

I had a feeling homelander was going to kill Nior Once he’d show his face back at Vought

I liked how they showed how strong Maeve really was, and I hope the boys actually take permanent V because I don't know if they're gonna be able to take homelander down without it

I swear, next season during A-train's redemption arc, he's going to say something along the lines of "Blue hawk is dead, but at least his heart is in the right place now." It is too good of a joke not to make.

Homelander going for Maeve’s eyes seems like reference to whenever Wonder Woman fights Superman,the first thing she always does is go for his eyes so he can’t use his heat vision

Poor Ashley I genuinely feel so sorry for her at this point she was only trying to survive.

Some other story lines I wish we would see more of would be; Cindy (she’s a great counter for Victoria), teddy Stillwell (same powers as Huey), and we know soldier boy and storm front have already had Realtionships so to say that she could be the mother is not far fetch.

I wonder how strong starlight could become. Could she fully fly with enough energy to absorb?

seeing as Noir didn't die on screen but rather was left to die of screen he's most likely alive, he survived getting his skull caved him and half his brain turned to mush so i think his guts spilling out can be healed. if he actually does end up dying then damn he was done dirty, so much set up and character building only to pull that.

Hard doubt on Noir actually being dead. Dude survived massive brain damage, being blown up, stabbed etc. Imo if he was dead Homelander would have put his head on that table not the mask (he might think Noir is dead) just think if he was the writers would have added that to the scene. Edit: mean you’re all acting like he was a fan favourite character and we can’t cope he’s gone, I could not give less of a fuck if he actually is for next season I just don’t think he is.

I hope black noir comes back. I was sad he didn’t get a chance to get his revenge on soldier boy

I found this finale to be very anticlimactic and disappointing. Herogasm is by far the best episode for the entire series, so I’m thankful for that.

Anyone else upset that that solider boy is being locked up again? He’s currently the only person who can take powers away (slow charge up but still) . Also Jensen is badass to be apart of the show as well I hope they bring him back.

In a way Queen Maeve did die...that is her superpowers in saving Starlight just like in the comics, but this time Queen Maeve's "sacrifice" was a happy ending for her. She gets to live a normal life. Black Noir's death so early on is surprising but also anti-climatic. No Vaught news of his death?!?

Black noir was definitely one of the most striking characters in the show. He never talked, except in the flash back when he talked to Stan Edgar. He wanted to show his face, he didn't need the mask, then his face got fucked up, and decided to go the silent supe route. He had a personality, and only homelander could understand him, he could see through his mask. Sad how he killed noir, but I have a feeling he will be back.

This episode was so depressing. Not in a bad way. I hope Ryan knows better enough to see Homelander is wrong. He definitely won't be a good influence, but because of how he was raised, he definitely has better morale. And here's to hoping Black Noir is still alive. I also hope they touch on Huey accidentally adopting a super kid and Cindy.

Stan Edgar's re-emergence next season will turn everything upside down! I believe he wants vought destroyed so he can move on to what he really wants .....absolutely power!

I got pretty mad about this episode. The way they hyped black noir in the last episode just to get his guts pulled out really upset me. Not only that. Ryan choosing to walk away with homelander this time was pretty sad too. But hey, you can't win em all.

The idea of Vickie as president is terrifying. Hopefully her daughter clarifies her moral compass.

Next season probably gonna be civil war season. They cheered for straight up murder. Homelander army vs Starlight army. Just curious how Vickie is gonna pick side.

At first I didn’t like this episode but now I realize how important it was to play out the way it did. Now Noir will not only come back stronger but have a reason to team up with the boys against both Homelander and Soldier boy. Once Soldier boy is freed again, Homelander will gain his respect. SB will see Homelander who now isn’t afraid to keep even the public in line by force regardless if it makes him loved or hated by many.

tbh i don't think noirs dead, can't help but feel like hes going to come back and be "mutated" so to speak with experiments having happened to him and it sorta goes in the comic route where noir did all the horrible shit that screwed with homelander

One subtle thing I think you, and maybe others, might have missed is that, in the end when Ryan told homelander he wanted to leave, it wasn't just because he's upset with butcher. He did it to save butcher. He saw the look on homelander's face and he knew what was next, so he emphasized leaving. It was his way of saving butcher. Ironically it may have seemed cruel to turn his back on butcher, mirroring their previous interaction.

To be honest, season 3 was great but the finale was just disappointing. There was so much more they could’ve done with Black Noir and the abrupt end of his arc was just dissatisfying and to be frank unnecessary. A Train was basically absent for 90 percent of the episode despite the obvious build up of a redemption arc this entire season. They could’ve even handled starlight’s power better in that whole scene because all it did really was push soldier boy back. Like come on how’s any of us supposed to find that cool?

I'm very disappointed in Black Noir's ending. He should've died fighting like a warrior not gutted like a fish.

My theory is that gecko who vought used in regenerative experiments in season 2) will be used in some capacity to pieces together noir will parts of storefront to create a silver bullet against homelander.

This show is honestly becoming incredible. Unlike most shows - this one continues to fly (ha) higher and higher in stakes and character development. Just an amazing show and what a satisfying awesome twisted finale!

I actually felt really bad for Homelander this episode. Even though he’s a villain he loves and protects his son despite his own dad rejecting him. What a complex character

Maeve and Butcher has way more chemistry than Maeve and Elena

I got into the show this season. Not only was it great fun, but I was pleasantly surprised by how sharply it doled out some solid social commentary. I’ll keep watching future seasons for sure. I am very very curious about Victoria Newman’s daughter, and also a little saddened with how abruptly Noir was removed just after they unpacked his history.

I feel like Black Noir isn't dead. He already had half his head caved in with his intestines out in the comics and still managed to be alive. These injuries being exactly what Noir got in the show probably hints on him being alive.

I thought that Homelander would have cared more about what he did to Stormfront over Becca

That hurt when Soldier-Boy told Homelander he was a dissapointment.

Wanted soldier boy to become anti hero mostly because of Jensen Ackles, but at least he went out with a bang.

The fight scene at vought towers was crazy so many twist

Homelander “how can you kill one of your own” Rips Black Nior guts out 5 mins ago.

Too many people giving this episode credit. I think this episode is the worse one yet. I feel like the writers rushed this finale and tried to squeeze too much into it for shock and awe that doesn't make a lot of since. Just like they did with making A-Train somehow live long enough to get a heart from a man he just killed. This episode makes far less sense in my opinion. It would have made more sense for soldier boy to take Homelander up on his offer. Not from this conversation though but through the call they previously had in the last episode. It should have been a fight where everyone was fighting for their lives from both Homelander and Soldier Boy. Then at some point Soldier Boy tells Homelander to step back as he is about to nuke them all but Maeve sacrifices herself by tackling him out of the window. Maeve actually dies. Homelander weeps for Maeve and in the confusion the Boys barely escape and Homelander is left to contend with the world seeing the aftermath so he can't chase them and must do damage control for the media plus his son just wants things to stop and for them to be a family. Even though the boys escape, the result is MM, Hughie, and Butcher almost dying in the process but Starlight gives them all the original V in order to save Hughie and Butcher from this but also the certain death they had by taking Temp V. MM is unconscious so they decide it is better he lives then dies. By the end, you have a better threat with SB, Homelander, and Ryan as a family along with most of the Boys with powers. The next season could show the undoubtedly many issues between SB and Homelander and could still reach a point where SB realizes he can't make Homelander not a disappointment. The only difference could be is that he tries to kill him so he could raise Ryan as his own to not be a wimpy mistake like Homelander. This could prompt Nior in helping Homelander face SB together and mend their issues too without Homelander killing (Oh in my story Homelander didn't kill Noir out respect for their past but insteads warns him to never come back). The boys drop in the middle of things to take advantage of the situation and then perhaps kill them both or something. Either way the writers could have done better. No one of REAL note died in this episode. No major sacrifices. No major high stakes here. All I see are a lot of missed opportunities. This episode made me not want to watch more honestly...which just sucks.

*Homelander 5 mins after he kills Black Noir - "how could you kill one of your own kind?"

Butcher through out the season - "SB do not betray me, we made a deal to kill HL" SB - " yep I'm ready to kill HL even though he's my son" Butcher - "No, no let me fu*k this up for you. I'm saving HL's child who raped my wife, even tho your blast will take off their powers not kill them but hell NO!!"

Id like to say, the way the directors fit IRL cultural issues into the show is fantastic.

This season is incredible can't wait for the new one, butcher probably gonna get saved by a permanent dose of compound V it's the only way to counteract the temp V that's killing him as well as keep hughie from suffering the same thing not to mention letting them keep their powers essentially putting 4 supes on the boys team; black noir isn't dead yet just because he was Disembowed doesn't mean he was immediately killed remember he has a healing factor if he could take a supe terrorist energy blast to the face he'll surely survive homelander, Maeve was incredible so glad she made it and got her happy ending as temporary as it will be because this the boys there are no such Thing as happy endings and looking forward to how things will progress with Newman, soldier boy is still around so how he returns will be very interesting having kimiko back to her full bloody glory was awesome loving the relationship between her and frenchie glad hughie and starlight are still together and continue to grow in their relationship and I hope they with the boys try to help butcher bring Ryan back to the light to prevent Becca's sacrifice from being in vain on top of that find the powerhouse Cindy so they can have both her and him as contingencies against homelander!💯😁😉👍

I don’t understand why they decided to kill off Noir instead of Maeve. Noir’s character was finally beginning to see development after 3 seasons and he dies in such a dumb way. Shame

Noir not being shown in memorial footage with Maeve leads me to believe he's either alive, or they plan to pass someone else off as him next season. Otherwise 7's down to what...3? I liked S3 and the finale. A bit messier than the previous two but I think that was the point (questioning hero and villain, who will align with who). That it's pissing off so many chuds in the comments makes me like it more. Which reminds me - I'm still betting on a Stormfront return. A Darth Vader cyborg resurrection is just too fitting, and we never saw the body. Plus she'd fit right into this Civil War arc they seem to be building to...

Loved this season but I think season 2 might have been a little better. I actually wish they would of made homelander more powerful. I know he's definitely the strongest supe but maeve made him bleed and Butcher stood toe to toe with him. All the government would need to defeat homelander is to give the army some of the 24hr compound V and I'm sure there would be a few hundred if not a few thousand troops with powers like Butcher. I would have loved to see homelander get blasted by Soldier boy and it not affect him or only slightly affect him but I really did enjoy this season and it was very good and super entertaining. Nothing compared to the head popping Congress scene of season 2 though. The herogasm fight was awesome and the season finale fights were great especially maeve vs homelander. I think maeve will return eventually either slowly regaining her powers or taking v,maybe when homelander is trying to take over the world. I can also see noir returning with improved powers. I would also think that vought would have a new super in the making. They had soldier boy and then homelander so wouldn't they continue that. They had all those babies with laser eyes in season 1 so maybe they have a little army of high powered supes. I do like how it looks like the boys will now focus on Vicky as the main villain for now anyways instead of homelander. I would like to see Ryan die somehow and that is what sets homelander off in the future. I do not want to see father vs son and for Ryan to be the one to defeat homelander. Hopefully we get teknight and he will be kind of like a take on Batman. Season 3 just flew by.

I LOVED the violin solo music at the end of the episode where Ryan slowly goes into a smile..I almost cried. It reminded me of the movie Moonlight, where the main character goes through life trying to find his identity in the world, without a good father/parental figure to guide him through it. 😥👏💯

This was a great finale. I have to say, though: in a series with super powered characters who can shoot laser beams out of their eyeballs, the most ridiculously unbelievable thing in this whole episode was the fact that they would just loose track of a vial of temp V, for Hughie to find it at just the right (or wrong) time. With as much difficulty as they have to go through every time they need to get a few vials, how rare it is, and how much they're relying on it for their plan, I cannot suspend my disbelief enough to be able to accept that they wouldn't know exactly how many vials they have left, and precisely where they are all at.

The final battle was a bit underwhelming. Overall good episode and great season

Most powerful supes are fighting in the same room and no one dies. The Boys became what it used to joke about, it really was a bait and switch for money. All the main characters have plot armor, Billy "Scorched earth" Butcher is a hypocrite trying to save Ryan, Homelander is heavily nerfed, Starlight is still useless, Kimiko and Maeve gets to have their happy endings? Yeah this show is done for me. Better watch Saul now
