The Bring Up - Dr. Lisa Su at CES 2020 

Geek interviewers for a geek CEO. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. And, by far the most down to earth, honest and interesting Lisa Su interview. Thank you guys =).

Impressed Lisa brought up the drivers. I will admit the 2020 version has improved things hugely but it's still rather buggy and unstable. Gives me hope that she acknowledged it directly

Thank you for not talking crap about your competitors, for always being respectful and humble, for turning bad moments into self-reflection and growth, for inspiring your employees to do better, for being an engineer that understands the products. Without you I really doubt AMD would be in the position which you are in today, and the hardware market would be stagnant. I think a lot of people underestimate how impactful your good attitude can be. I heard that the biggest tech site in a small country had an anniversary party, and invited a competitor of AMD. The competitor didn’t really seem to know they even existed, and declined. Then they invited AMD, which immediately accepted the invitation and flew in one of their top engineers from halfway around the globe to sponsor, hold a presentation about the bad situation you were in, and how you lead them out of it. I for one never imagined that a company could care so much about a small birthday party on the other side of the world, but I’m glad I was proven wrong. All things that start at the top always somehow find their way down. We could take a rain cloud for example, and let this represent the top leadership, let the seeds represent ideas like Zen and Navi, and let the soil represent the engineers. You’re going to need the rain clouds to make sure that the soil will have enough water to make the seeds grow. And after 5 years or so, we have all those amazing products taking shape. “The best is yet to come” doesn’t only mean that there will be something better, it also means that people can always improve and do better. Looking at all the iterations of for example Zen, AMD seems to have taken that mantra to heart.

You can tell how focused and passionate Dr. Lisa Su is about technology and the feedback direct from the community.

I have a ton of respect for lisa su. she's not just the CEO of AMD she's an established electronics engineer. she's brilliant. don't let her leave. she's a large part of the great success AMD is now enjoying. intel is ran by a soul less MBA businessman who does not have the knowledge lisa su has. I bought aTWO ryzen 6 3600 processors and TWO radeon RX590 graphics cards. I wish the company remains competitive this is back to the early Athlon days.

Lisa is just an amazing CEO. She comes across as so approachable, honest and like she genuinely gives AF about the industry and consumers
