And because they're very concerned about what their peers think -- especially the men in this video. Apparently they are not old enough to be in relationships.
It’s crazy how quickly this show just devolved into “Ooga booga light turn red me hit button as fast as I can” just because the first time someone hit the button everyone cheered like crazy. Really gave Lord of the Flies type vibe
The first time someone hit the button actually no one cheered. The girl who hit the button the 1st just went to the next one peacefully whereas the 2nd time someone who hit the button, was 1st from the guys. That's when the cheering started.
This was over as soon as the guys started yelling and cheering like middle school children just because the dude pushed the button. Then the game became "press the button fast" Also the third guy is embarrassing. Making fun of a girl after she rejects you just makes you seem insecure
Having lived here all my life, I can confirm that the dating scene is generally toxic and violent here, and the guys have zero game. This video is pretty accurate.
Yet some men in comments not from Australia trying to speak over women 💀 wow who could have seen that coming? Anyways, wish you the best girl. Try finding a man online safely
This whole production just devolved so quickly into tribalism that you can't even say it's a dating show. It's actually just a competition for who can press the button first. It doesn't deliver on its premise AT ALL. Quasar really needs to go back to the drawing board lol
@@SisterliskI don’t think they meant ethnicity, I think they meant tribalism as in how everyone was treating it like boys v. girls w/ “who can hit the button first”
I could never watch this if Cody's commentary was not intertwined. So hard to watch the blatant disrespect to these women. I'll not be visiting Australia..
@@lemonysnickette These people are outliers, the accents show they are from Queensland or Sydney. Not super well known for having the most polite men. Disappointed that this video is giving the wrong representation.
@@lemonysnickettedon’t let these guys poison your opinion of the entire country lmao, but yeah this was scummy Originally I thought it was just gonna be Patrick but then it got worse 😅
As an Australian, I sincerely apologise for the suffering this video caused. It's not until you hear a commune of us gathered like this that you realise how insufferable our mannerisms can truly be. This video made my skin turn inside out. Thanks Cody, my lunch break is ruined.
I actually have goosebumps of embarrassment watching this. But I'm glad Americans are finally seeing our true colours. They've been flattering us Aussies for too long.
@@GM-qq1wiSteve Irwin really was a great representative for y’all to select. He made us all believe y’all were all just super wholesome and adventurous people down under 😅 sending love from USA! Every country has degenerates that don’t truly represent a society
these boys should be reported in some way, because this violence is absolutely disgusting (and they're on camera acting this way!). 2/5 women have experienced violence in Australia according to the Australian Bureau of Stats. I don't know how you can be on camera and talk to girls in this way and think it is cool...
@@choccymilkconnoisseur2775 I think he was being facetious saying that because neither were there any parts where the guys were violent. P.S. hitting the button hard as fast as you can before the other person can, is NOT violence towards women. I can't believe I even have to explain this...
@@zarasha2024 in my personal experience, yes they are all like this and worse. The culture here is extremely misogynistic and terrifying. I plan to leave this country for this reason.
The SHUSHING in the background omfg 😭 it really brings it all together You know the crew went home *exhausted* that day after trying to keep everyone in line
Look up domestic violence statistics in Australia. I'm Australian, I have a restraining order on an ex who is stalking me. At age 16, my first relationship was abusive. Both are normal occurrences for women here. Australian women have a reputation of being tough, it's because we have to be like this to deal with the men.
I can’t begin to explain how cringeworthy it is to hear the audience cheer. This version makes me miss the US Button so much. The production team is honestly so unlikeable and that’s just me being nice. I just might go bingewatch the US Button just to cleanse my palette I stg💀
@@erikzavala2377 Oh I don’t know… producing the show? You don’t have to see the team themselves to realize they’re unlikable based on their production choices.
In the first video where it was Tinder swiping and the people would hoot and holler it drove me crazy because not only are the reactions put on for the camera and over the top, but it incentivizes people to start plying to the crowd and not pay attention to who's in front of you
As an Australian woman I had to pause in the middle. This is why I could never go out to clubs. This is sadly a very accurate representation of Australian nightlife. Also very clear they don't actually have producers just some young dudes who don't believe men and women can be friends
I was saying "ew" the whole time the 3rd guy was talking to the Asian woman. His words had zero respect for her as a human being. It was super uncomfortable to watch. That channel production should seriously moderate the sexual harassment.
In the tinder video he said he’s not going to uni but is going to start, wants to go to law school, and plans to go into politics. In this video he said he’s been studying physics for three years and doesn’t know what he wants to do, besides going to space. What a guy.
Lmao yeah 😭😭 that had me so confused. He also said 2 or 3 years, and I feel like usually you would know how long you’ve been in uni and how long you have left
Real talk, he's so used to women jumping through hoops for him like the 1st girl that he never developed anything interesting about him. Also, I get the feeling he's using this show to get girls to message him afterwards so that's the only reason he's even trying to be interesting.
The guy in the black dag truly believes he’s way more attractive and interesting than he really is. It seems like he’s waiting for a better option to come along but realistically all of these girls were out of his league, physically emotionally and mentally.
Absolutely hate this production team the way the react when a girl gets eliminated is so unprofessional. I can’t imagine being in that room getting eliminated and then have the people there do that.
I was in a long distance relationship with an Australian girl. When I asked her why she would pick someone all the way across the world she always said Aussie guys were assholes. I guess she wasn't wrong lol.
She should move to the country then, city guys and girls are assholes, but like it is anywhere else in the world, people in the country are much nicer.
They should have a rule that if the button moves from its spot while pressing it, the press is disqualified. Or, like, command strip that shit to the table.
I think part of the reason this is so horrible is because all the other participants are watching. People dont wanna be humiliated in front of their peers so they're going to try and reject someone as fast as possible without even considering if they have a connection with the person in front of them. Or they can see someone else in the crowd they find more attractive so they wont even pay attention to the date. Idk this is awful honestly. They need to take Codys pointers.
one of the dudes get rejected by one of the girl’s, so now the other guys don’t like her and try to get her out, then one of the girls get rejected by the guy and now the girls don’t like him and try to get him out. it’s an endless cycle lmao
My friend owns her own business and did a RU-vid video interviewing people. One room in a studio, even her production was better than this. The producers of this are cheap, “ya da bois” attitude and won’t amount to the fame of “the button” ever, in the history of humankind. Trust lmao
@@laya8350 yup, it's like a much worse version of when in the jubilee videos you see the contestants go back into their waiting rooms and they talk about the dates they had, usually trashing them
Not to mention seeing the other side of people watching you reject people back to back so now you're in your own head thinking well they all hate me now so I might as well hit that button every chance I get. Campbell for example.
The fact that the girl didn’t press the button after the Tinder Logistics guy said “ehhhh” to her appearance goes to show that attractive ppl rly can do what they want and still get the girl lmao
@@deez9966I think they’re trying to say that everyone leaves Australia and moves to other countries because the dating is pretty awkward as seen on this video
i dont understand why they love that model dude so much??? he's so dry and boring, brings nothing to conversation unless he gets to talk about himself. he exists and they all go "AWWWWWWWW WOOOOOOOW OMGGGG" every time, i don't get it LMAO
He is hot and the ppl they put him in vids with prob dont know (or can’t remember) if/where they had seen him from so they dont know he is boring. I guess that’s the plan with using him, that the entertainment is watching people be interested at first because of his looks and then watch it all go south when he opens his mouth lmao
This is not at all about dating. It is all about boys versus girls and who hits the button first. It is obvious the the "daters" are no listening to each other; just waiting for the lights to change. Although, in the girl's defense, the guys, for the most part, were tools. Surprise ending, though; I thought that one could have worked. I love your fickle approach.
Something about the Australian button is especially painful to watch. There was 0 chemistry with any of them and no one knows how to flirt. And the production team makes it 1000 times more awkward. Thank you for sitting through this, Cody 😂😂
It's not that they don't know how to flirt, it's that they get matched up with people they're not attracted to. No motivation for flirting. Also, they're nervous because there's a crowd judging them.
Australian here, I don’t think anyone has tried to actually “flirt” or “court” me, just tryna hit or speak about the colour of the sky… it’s rough out here. 😮💨
@@Sisterlisk you could say the same about the original Button, but at least some of those people actually knew how to flirt. I hate to say it, but the original is pleasant in comparison to the Australian version.
as a viet person, the amount of time i've heard "vietmanese" is more than i can count. tho i am impressed he guessed correctly, because it's never the first guess. that was really tough to watch, they were mean af to her.
@@postbloom9767seriously what’s wrong with him. “I expect nice nice nails” “what I’m not a gentleman” then proceeded to smack the hell out of the button
This makes me sad :( I'm an Aussie gal as well but I'm 37 and in a long-term relationship and can honestly say I've not come across drongos like this before. If this is the dating scene now then I'll become a committed full-time cat lady if ever I wind up single again (which I really hope I don't!)
Cody I just gotta comment and say thank you for taking your time to provide all this amazing content for us. Breakfast, lunch, dinner… you name it. Just from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
And it’s always the dad jokes the ones he laughs at or says “good joke man that was a funny one” type shit and it gets me everytime🤣 he gets me full on laughing a lot and it’s always something subtle or silly or zade’s editing gets me a lot too when he’s “making fun” of Kody 🤣🤣 I think it’s because he’s so genuine and not trying too hard and you can also tell there’s a real friendship&respect between him and his editor too which I really like that about him, there’s plenty of reactor RU-vidrs but he and his team are unique af and you can feel the genuineness through the screen🤣
This was the hardest video to get through. My god. Just empty conversation waiting for the room to turn red, then race to press the button in the most violent way possiple. On top of that, the two contestants having to scream at each other because the production team and spectators were being so loud. These dudes watched an episode of the button and were like "oh we could easily make this ourselves." I hate this so much lol.
@@indiecloud100 I’m thinking he was trying to use that “negging” pick up artist tactic. Insult women so they think you’re higher value bc you took them down a peg 🙄
@@bharatnair15I was gonna apply for the button australia but when I saw how terrible the production quality was I decided against it. it's legit just a bunch of instagram comedians and shit running it. its so wack
Even instead of turning the button red it looks like they have a red spotlight they shine on the people lol It's like when you go to the dollar store and see "cinnamon breakfast squares" instead of "cinnamon toast crunch"
They could at least hire one media/film grad to fix things. If I was there I'd make so many small/affordable changes that could increase the production value so much. Even just little things like putting a bluetooth speaker in the box then taping/gluing it down and using a small red LED light could help so much. Also, the other participants should be kept in a separate area where they can't watch/hear the date.
these are like the super cocky wannabe influencers, i promise this is not representative of us at all lol. i’m from melbourne (where this is filmed) majority of people are super chill and we have a reputation of being the most welcoming city in australia!
😅 i love that of all things it's the influencers that make you want to avoid Australia ... and not the freakishly giant croc-eating insects, the gym bro kangaroos putting dogs in headlocks, or the Kuala mafia that have been smuggling veggiemite internationall.
@@lanistinksyeah, this show gives me Sydney vibes, not Melbourne haha. I’m from Adelaide, lived in Melbourne, Melbourne was better than Sydney and this was a typical boys house party energy.
So as an Aussie myself. Whether Australian people flirting or not, they are so incredibly blunt they have no subtly. The flirting might just straight up be sexual harassment or bullying.
I lived in Australia for a year for school and they definitely are a lot more upfront and blunt than what we are used to here. Weirdest thing is 12th graders would date 7th graders at the school I attended and apparently that was perfectly normal. I couldn't get used to that one.
Unless their goal ISN'T to try to get a date, they're ruining it by allowing the rest of the people to watch and hear these interactions because everyone is going into it already knowing how much these people suck so it just becomes a competition for who can reject the most people
There was absolutely zero chemistry until the last pair. Everyone was shouting at each other, super passive aggressive, and overall rude whenever they got eliminated.
My experience with Australian people in the states is that they are really confrontational / agro. I dated an Australian guy when I lived in San Francisco, he was there for a week, and our first interaction was him being mad at me because he couldn’t find me and was getting our bus routes confused. He came in super hot like “thanks for the fucking help” and basically just bullied me the whole week. But it was different than being with an abusive/hostile man, like he was genuinely sweet and normal but it was a demeanor just way diff than what I’m used to in the states
I’m so sorry genuinely why how I feel about everything is based on personal experience I know can you say that again I know deep down always meant something
That had me tearing up I was laughing so hard. Also when you’re laughing out loud by yourself it’s super great when the video ends and you start to think, “wow wonder if anyone heard that…” I might need to find friends..
My read of the girl saying "so start the conversation" and "you wanna guess my turn off" was that she was frustrated coz the guy wasn't asking returning questions of his dates & not holding his half of a conversation. As someone who has gone on dates where I wasn't asked a single question, FELT.
I’m glad I’m not the only one absolutely overstimulated by these videos. I couldn’t stand to watch their content without Cody’s pauses and antics spread throughout.
In America at least they try and flirt (play the game) in Australia they have the blandest conversations and are like in some weird competition to see who can hit the button first.. lol I have never seen the button fly off the table so many times
Cody yelling "I'm getting soft" like he wants to speak to the manager after he just saw a truck driver physicist getting his dreams of going to outer space laught at is literally the funniest thing, I love this
