@@RaikageV I’m guessing that Neo’s construct of Torchwick was merely a construct, but it had the most complexity to it just because she had been around him for something like 15 years and knew his personality so well. Neo never encountered any of the other characters she made constructs of (at least not enough to know their personalities), so they have the same one-track mind that she does

i actually kinda did have a bit of a break down/realization after watching it has never happen before, rwby is the only show to do this and i gotta respect it a lot for it glad it got a 9.5 thats awesome.

V3-V4 was roughly 8 months. V4-7 was scattered around but I feel safe saying it couldn't have been more than 2 months, but I think it's safer to lean towards 1 month. I don't recall any known time table on the V7 huntress montages, but I'm going to bet at least 2-3 months, but no more than 6 at most, and I acknowledge that's pushing it. Second half of V7 and V8 are not even a week total. It's been like two or three days so far in V9. Basically, it's been at least 1 year since Roman's death, but probably not 18 months, and unlikely to be even 2 years. However I do acknowledge I don't claim to be perfect with this knowledge.

Basically what we want to do is forget Blake, Weiss, and Yang's storylines in V4 and onky pay attention to RNJR until the end of the Volume. We know that they arrive as Kuroyuri close to or during fall, judging by all the dead trees at the sign pointing to Kuroyuri. Which means they've been traveling for almost a year since Volume 3 because they left in Winter. So 8 months is a fair estimate. That sane sign pointing to Kuroyuri is seen as the end of Volume in Summer when Yang gets there. Which means Yang has arrived about another 8 months after they did. And they all meet up still in Summer by the end of Volume 5. But some time still had to have passed because the attack on Haven happens 2 months after we first learn about it, which means the entirety of V5 takes place over about 2 months. In total, that's about 10 months from when RNJR arrived at Kuroyuri (and subsequently Mistral) and about 18 months since the end of V3. V6 takes place a week after V5 and lasts about that same amount of time as well. And then V7 is mostly close together but the montage in Chapter 5 signifies that some time has definitely passed. I'd say 2 months is also a fair estimate considering we know that the events in RWBY: Arrowfell are team RWBY's first mission as licensed huntresses and that they've been seen doing MANY missions during the montage. And then the rest of V7 to the end of V8 is about a week (maybe a week and a half). If we add that up, that's about 3 more months, which makes it about 21 months after V3. And V1-V3 took place over about a year, with the second year not far off for RWBY, likely supposed to start after the Vytal Tournament. We know this because the school years starts in fall and Volume 3 (for the most part) is in fall. Ruby says so herself. So it's been like 33 months since the start of the show. Very close to 3 years. And if we want to guess at their ages, we know Ruby is 15 and the other girls are 17 at the start of the show. But since Ruby's birthday is in October and school typically starts in early fall in around August or September, we can presume that she turns 16 very early in the first semester. So if she turns 16 that soon, and it's been about 3 years since the beginning of V1, the other girls are definitely 20, and Ruby is almost 19. That might seem contradictory given we know she's "2 years younger" but it's not. V2 takes place during their second semester, after Blake's 18th birthday, and the episodes in Mountain Glenn likely take place after Weiss's 18th birthday, so she is "2 years younger". But she's not exactly 2 year younger, nor is she at least 2 years younger. Her birthday is in the fall, after the start of the school year, which means she had to wait an extra year to go to school because she has to be a certain age. Add to that one year of time minimum between hers and Yang's birthdays and that makes "2 years". Anyway, you can basically ignore this. I just felt the need to correct you is all.

@Joshua Swanson you're argument hinges on how the trees look on the largest continent on Remnant. The idea that they were in Haven for 8 months waiting for Yang is ridiculous. We don't have an explicit time table between V5 ending and V6 starting, just that it's not a long period of time. No. Just...no. I'm not humoring that crazed rant that STARTED with "ignore the other people and focus on my cherry pick".

@@timlerch7425 Qrow directly says in a message to Ironwood that it's been 1 week since attack on Haven. That is a direct conformation of passage of time between V5 and V6. The reason I'm ignoring the other girls is because 1. Weiss is always inside and we can never tell what season it is (but also, Atlas is floating above a tundra so it wouldn't matter). 2. Blake's story in V4 likely happens super early, before anyone else's (or concurrently with RNJR's), and we also see her inside for most of the time, and when we do see her outside, it looks to be Spring or Summer. But she's also in Menagerie, which is on the bottom half of Remnant, below the equator, which would line up with upper Mistral being in Fall which matches with RNJR arriving in Mistral during the fall. 3. Yang's story, from we see, only ever takes place in the Summer in BOTH V4 and V5 (both Patch and upper Mistral would experience the same seasonal weather). And since we know she's in Mistral at the end of V4 with Bumblby, it's safe to assume that not much time passes between V4 and V5 for her because she can get around much faster than everyone else. But yes, I do very much think that RNJR were waiting around about 8-9 months before Yang and Weiss got there. Qrow was almost dead, so he would have had to recover from Tyrian's poison for a while, and the DC comic shows them staying at an inn nearby a clinic just outside the main city. I don't know how long Qrow would have been recovering from the poison, but we know that the rest of RNJR's V5 story runs concurrently with Weiss and Yang's and is a while after Blake's. Then after revoering, he contacted Lionheart, set up a meeting (which roughly lines up with Ghira's speech), got a house for them to stay at, etc. And they wouldn't have to wait much longer for Weiss and Yang to show up. So most of that time was likely spent waiting for Qrow to recover completely from the poison which was in his system for quite a while. It's perfectly fine for you to not agree with my assessment, but I have yet to see a reason that I'm wrong.

Hmm interesting foreshadowing theory there, and since both Jaune and the Curious Cat have both mentioned the possible truth that Alyx must’ve traded away her brother’s life as a sacrificial price to getting back home to remnant, and since Jaune is a middle aged Rusted Knight who has already lost the then unrequited love of his life after Pyra shared a romantic goodbye kiss with Jaune, while he spent two years in remnant trying to carry on what she had taught him since before and after her death through posthumously recorded combat training videos Jaune had once kept around in remnant to remember her by, and he still hasn’t even found a second new love of his life at all whatsoever, I guess maybe there’s a possibility that maybe he will have to trade away his life to resurrect Ruby after all since he’s both middle aged and has nothing else left to lose anymore. And sure hope that your right after the 9th episode of RWBY Volume 9 comes out this week (as of 4-11-2023 of this reply) of course.

@@HuskyLemur Of course brother, I still think that regarding Ruby, she may "rise" but now with a purpose, I mean, since she knew that there was no way to defeat Salem, I realized that that's where Ruby began to fade, in the sense of not having a specific plan to defeat Salem, I hope he resurfaces with a purpose, it's obvious that he won't be the same (and I probably get a broken power like Neo xD). The brothesr operate like greek gods. selfish and callous. the ever after is this weird fae realm that helps people in character progression. The 'purpose' is their own pruposes not some mechanical benefit to the ever after aside for individuals lik the herbalist, the cat, and so on. could say......... buhddist reincarnation maybe?

I agree. She knew Neo's plan and was told she'd basically be dead. Drank it anyway. I pretty much lost all respect for Ruby because of this and it will always linger on her character.

I think it's interesting how both Neo and Ruby have their fair share of tragedy and have both been suffering from the pain of loss, their respective failures, etc. If nothing else, it almost feel like Ruby has now become to Neo, what Batman is to Joker. An enemy that keeps them going and motivated. Honestly, I'm convinced Neo didn't even expect Ruby to give up, that she would keep fighting through everything she threw at her. She must've expected her to. She wanted her enemy to keep getting back up to take more and more. To perservere and overcome every mental obstacle and when she didn't, when Ruby caved in and drank the tea instead, It was clear in Neo's mind, that wasn't supposed to happen.

I think he just wants out because Ever After is the real EVIL! The source of all the Grimm!

If I have to guess it was all those snide comments like how Salem sounded so hard to beat and how Ruby was using him, and luring her towards the Herbalist and the Blacksmith to wear her down then intervening before she chose to ascend.

Nope, you got done by the writers lol. You fell for it. Nothing that the CC has done was positive. Everything they’ve said and done wasn’t to help Ruby or the team, it was to help themselves. When Ruby is drugged by Herb, she may have realised who she is as a huntress, or she could have accepted the offer to ascend and become someone new, like a huntress etc… If Ruby did this, and accepted Herb’s offer, the CC wouldn’t have been able to use Ruby as a vessel. The CC needed Ruby broken, to be able to take over her body. So when the CC “saves” Ruby from Herb, that is just the CC helping themselves and not team RWBY.

Which means Ruby didn’t get chance to reflect and turn into a huntress (which she is probably going to do now in the next episode anyway) but because she didn’t back at Herb’s, she was still broken, like the cat wanted. The cat was trying to ensure Ruby never got helped by anyone. Which is also why the cat said to not talk to anybody without them.
