Great video as always Tom! I see you still have a partial bag of Jealous Devil briquettes. I forgot to tell you, I’ve started doing a 1 to 1 mix of B&B standard oak briquettes and Jealous Devil briquettes. Awesome flavor profile! You should try it at least once!!
If the coating last a year? Well worth it! By the way, I bought some B&B charcoal from Ace. Paid $16.99 for 17.6lbs. Going to try it and I will give you my thoughts! Always used Kingsford $20.00 for 40lbs at Home Depot.
When I first converted from being a gas grill guy to going down charcoal rabbit hole, I also used Kingsford. My wife HATED it. Being new to charcoal, I just assumed it was all the same. Tom turned me onto B&B, and NIGHT AND DAY difference. I also use Jealous Devil briquettes, and they’re wonderful too. Can’t say one is better than the other;both fantastic. I’m no Walmart fan, but Walmart does have the best pricing for both brands. $9.97/bag for B&B, and $14.97/bag for Jealous Devil. Those are online prices…I’ve never seen them in the stores. $35 gets you free shipping too.
I bought one a few months back from Loews for $78 and cook my breakfast every morning out on my covered pool patio here in Fl. The 2 zone cooking area is really what I was looking for since my days as a short order breakfast cook way back in my teens. The griddle works great (after learning how to regulate the temperature) but the top came slightly warped. I noticed it before turning it on when I was levelling it. The right side has a small dimple while the left side has a small hump. Is there a chance the factory will replace it?
