Incredible drop shot by Nadal to save break point against Daniil #medvedev in the Australian Open Final of 2022. He never gave up even against this level of adversity! GOAT!! #nadal #tennis #goat
I feel bad. It was like 3am here and Meddie won the 2nd set. I was exhausted and slept. Woke up to find Nadal clawed back and won. Never sleep on a legend!
It was breakfast time here in Spain when the match started. Watched the first couple of sets, lost hope and went on with my day. By lunch time I ask my family how it had ended and found out Nadal was still fighting on the 5th set, and we put the match back on to experience a legendary win!!
It's impressive for his age and physical struggle in the last months, but I believe both Federer and Nadal played at a higher level in 2009. As a Federer fan I must say I was really angry that day, because the Swiss played an incredible match. No one would ever beat him at that level but Nadal.
@@allanfonseca1478 the level was definitely higher back then. All the big 3 members are way past their primes. They are only still dominating cause of the weak next gen players.
Federer failed to get to 21 when Djokovic beat him at Wimby'19. Rafa failed to get to 21 when Djokovic beat him at RG'21. Djokovic failed to get to 21 when Medvedev beat him at USO'21. The next "logical " step would have been for Medvedev to deny Rafa getting to 21 at AO'22. Rafa beat the odds and that is why he fully deserves the praise and the glory. No amount of Djokertard sour grapes can take away from Rafa's great accomplishment.
Technically Rafa didn’t fail because he never got to the final at RG to have a shot at #21, Roger and Novak both lost their first finals after #20, Rafa got it in one
Many people are saying that Nadal won AO 22' 'Cause of deportation of Djokovic but he beat the man who def. Djokovic in straight sets at a hard court slam final few months ago and what a come back from 2 sets down Even though he might not win against djoker but what abt the agility, humble attitude and inspiration he gave to many of us while watching his game in AO final ( so inspirational), I will say GOAT is not based on how many slaMs they win but it is based on how humble and grateful they stay after achieving greatness, even his win of 21st slam got more greatness not because of winning but because of the way he won it
@@jamalahmadquadri9613 Rafa is Rafa.He is the only player who plays each and every point as last point.A fit & healthy Rafa is extremely difficult to beat on any surface -let alone Clay by perhaps any player. He never gives up.No one should write Rafa off as long as he decides to continue to show his passion for the game.
Same thing my husband said- when match just start on third set, I told my husband that Nadal is done. His response was like u never underestimate Nadal - even though him being huge Roger fan. Well Nadal 21 slam champion give credit to Medvedev keeping him on his toe.
Medvedev had hottest hard court streak...Even belted Djokovic in straight sets at US Open. Heavy favourite, but NEVER doubt the guts & never give up attitude of Nadal...Lucky Djokovic was NOT playing, otherwise he WOULD OF LOST to Nadal. Another major won seeded 6. He proves yet again no.1 in the world means nothing.....If Nadal can avoid injuries in lead up matches...watch out French Open.....22nd GS = GOAT no-one compares.
@@Supercecco85 I'm sure he won't have objected if the match had gone on for another hour. Afterall it's not everyday that you can see history getting created in front of your 👀 😊 But yes Rafa would have been super dead tired by then
It was great moments in which I felt great joy. Nadal is a true inspirer. I have been following Nadal for more than 15 years. He is really the hero of tears of joy. She was present. Thank you for being on this planet, Rafa
I thought at first that Medvedev will win the title during the first 2 sets. But 3rd set onwards, wow, Rafa proved me wrong through his amazing comeback! What a battle it has been and congrats to Rafa for a historic 21st GS title... 💯🔥👏🏻
Imagine if he missed that drop shot! Medvedev surely would have had huge momentum in closing out his 2nd grand slam win. Instead, Rafa climbed back out and got to the top once again… 👏🏻
I know it's more amazing to look at it as a simple 5 set comeback, but I had the impression, while watching it, that Nadal was better after the first set and a half. He was unlucky not to close out the second set and then really seemed exhausted in the second set. Of course, the willpower to come back from 2-0 down and hardly being able to move was undescribable.
Was off grid while the match was on and following one of those silly watch along channels on YT for the first 2 sets. In the mean time I'd been looking around for a live stream and eventually had to sign up for a free account. Was a half hearted effort as I assumed Medvedev had it in the bag. Man was I wrong. It was so worth it and a privilege to see Nadal make history.
This was the same moment where i stopped watching the match thinking it’s done, tuned back after half an hour and then realized i missed the best part!
In that AO, I didn't get time to watch NADAL match, only watching Score.. And after every match I Shouted "Yeesss".. In Final I got time to to watch the match.. But After 1st Set Loss, I have switched off the TV.. And Said "NADAL You have to win, You have to".. then I was watching only Score.. And Finally NADAL win the GL21, just because of I had off my Television.
Medevev , had 0-40 .. break points , and was doing stupid drop shots and basic .. gave nadal life and momentum ..& then started complaing about , the fans routing for nadal .. he doesn’t have that killer instinct , u don’t let legends like nadal , even thing they have a chance . When u got them
Medvedev's legs were noticeably dead.I wonder if it's cause those new balls AO introduced that have a lower bounce thus making it more difficult for a taller play.
Meds got too careful. Tennis is a tough sport to close out....along with golf. Down the stretch.....its very difficult. Jack and Tiger made a living executing down the stretch. Tennis is very similar. Meds played too careful...playing like hes tryin to hold on to a lead rather than goin for it. Wonder if Rafa were up 2 sets on him if Meds wudda came back and won. Defending leads in tennis is super difficult. One player is goin all out where the other is guiding and hopin his opponent faulters and makes a lotta errors.
Only Nadal can do that, I've seen today Zverev playing final against Bublik and losing like a little girl, at times I thought Zverev should play in challenger events, he was so disgusting, no serve, no return, no attitude, no fighting spirit.
Espero haberme explicado.
Yes thatclutch game define the momemtum Change and the MATCH,, CLEARLY medvedev, who had survived a MATCH point against Félix OA,, had no stamina for 5 set MATCH, among other mental demons
I don't understand why drawing conclusions for something which is irrelevant at this time. These analysis are not going to be relevant in tennis. It is child talk.
Have you read up on that recently lol. She got sued for damages because the accusations were false he is a natural athlete who has also put in the work smh
