But they probably would simply have thrown out the leftover drinks at Jessica's table, after they left, as cafes normally do - if it wasn't for Jessica accusing the staff of putting something in the coffee. That's what made them keep Mirna's coffee. After all, they were being accused of wrongdoing so they would want to clear their name. If Jessica hadn't said anything, the staff would never have thought to keep Mirna's coffee.

A friend of mine was considering going to meet an ex at their old hangout spot beneath a small bridge. I repeatedly warned her it was a bad idea, and that she should meet him in a more public space, and that talking wouldn’t solve or help anything anyways. However, she went and was assaulted. He tried to pull her pants off and rip her shirt. She kicked him in the balls, and ran the entire way to her house when he let go. It is extremely dangerous to keep someone so jealous, unstable, and generally uncaring in your life. Please. Anyone who thinks they shouldn’t be with whoever they are with because of signs like these, PLEASE take the step to leave and save yourself the trouble. You are worth it. This will definitely be difficult for you to understand because there are many strange things in Indonesian law. Please understand if English is difficult to understand because I use translate Here are the facts that I can explain: 1. Jessica arrived early to avoid the 3 in 1 (traffic jams in Jakarta are extraordinary) 2. They agreed to meet at 4, Jessica sent a juice menu to the group and Mirna replied that she liked Vietnamese iced coffee, then Jessica offered to buy it for her then the coffee came at 4.15. Mirna unexpectedly arrived late 3. The table was not chosen by Jessica, but by the cafe waitress 4. Jessica is not monitoring CCTV, but there she is looking for a waiter who guides her to make the payment first 5. When Mirna had a seizure and was referred to the nearest clinic, the victim's husband came to the location and did not allow the doctor to treat her first, he took Mirna to the hospital using a private car without an ambulance (this was very fatal) 6. 70 minutes after Mirna died, cyanide experts found no cyanide in Mirna's stomach and no symptoms of cyanide poisoning. However, 3 days after death and a sample was taken (not an autopsy), it was found to be 0.2 mlg/l (it was not fatal, it could have been due to decomposition of the corpse) 7. There is no evidence that Jessica put poison 8. There were no witnesses who saw Jessica put the poison. There is no evidence that Jessica possessed poison and purchased poison 9. Evidence that the coffee that Mirna drank was no longer original and the glass had been moved. 10. Many experts say that CCTV evidence is suspected to have been doctored. The CCTV was not taken from the DVR but from a flash disk directly and the video had been cut into pieces 11. 14 reports in Australia are not criminal cases. But it was a report of a lost wallet, his girlfriend's worries, his boss's worries and an accident 12. The rumor that Jessica threatened to kill her boss is a LIE, she never said anything like that. It is suspected that her boss didn't like Jessica because she left her job which made it difficult for her boss 13. The judge and public prosecutor at the trial always emphasized Jessica when giving testimony, even the expert witness at the trial from Jessica's attorney was shouted at in a high pitched voice. When Jessica was still being questioned she was forced to admit to an act she did not commit. If he admits he will only be sentenced to 7 years but will not be sentenced to death. It is suspected that they have engineered this case and are suspected of having been bribed by certain parties so that nothing will lighten Jessica's sentence. 14. Someone who previously worked on this case is in prison. This person had committed premeditated murder against his aide. he threatened the police that if he was sentenced to death he would expose the police's rottenness in the cyanide coffee case. (This is very odd, isn't it? It seems true that the coffee cyanide case was engineered) 15. There was a legal expert witness from the public prosecutor at the trial who was caught in a bribery case 16. The judge who sentenced Jessica violated the judge's code of ethics 17. The evidence submitted by Jessica's attorney to the judge and prosecutor that Jessica did not poison the coffee was not seen and was not considered at all by the public prosecutor 18. Jessica was proven guilty based only on the judge's assumptions and beliefs. 19. Mirna's family is thought to have spent a lot of money to cover the mouths of people who said Jessica was not the perpetrator 20. In Indonesia, no money, no justice, no viral, no justice, bribery is a very common thing. because people who don't have money can be made scapegoats or not be prosecuted 21. Jessica acts calm and unemotional because she doesn't want to see her mother sad, because if Jessica is seen crying in public her mother will cry too. Jessica's family is very closed to journalists. Basically, Jessica prioritized her family's feelings because at that time her father had undergone treatment 22. he was arrested at the hotel not because he was evading arrest. He avoided journalists who were always in front of Jessica's house which made it difficult for his family to buy food. After the Netflix documentary was broadcast, many officials threatened those who spoke about this case. There are officials who are trying to cover up this case and are trying to take down videos that discuss the irregularities in this case. This is very strange, why are they trying to cover it up so that this case won't be reopened? This may be strange to hear 🤣but in Indonesia many fortune tellers say Jessica is innocent and coffee is not poisonous. They said Mirna died of chronic stomach disease Now there are 3,800 lawyers who will help Jessica get justice pro-bono. "It is better to free 1000 guilty people than to convict 1 innocent person"

Indonesian here and I’m obsessed with this case! I’d like to share some things sourced from local TV and interviews: 1. An expert from Aussie has a theory that the cyanide was put somehow in the straw. That’s why Hani and the cafe manager that tried the drink was OK. Mirna had the most right away with the first sip. 2. In the girls’ whatsapp group, Jessica asked the other girls if there were any emergency clinic in Grand Indonesia (the mall), few days before the meeting. When confronted about this in court, she said she wanted to ask for vitamin D that she left in Aussie, and that the ones in regular shop were too upsetting in the stomach. I take D3 and that sounds ridiculous. That really says she planned everything. 3. Mirna’s dad said in a local talkshow that he didn’t know who Jess was. He said he knew well Mirna’s friends from Aussie (like Hani), would treat them with meals etc. and never he knew or saw Jess among them. Mirna’s twin also said pretty much the same, meaning they’re not that close, or, Mirna really tried to disconnect from her. 4. Court facts: when Mirna’s dad asked Hani and Jess what they drank, Jessica lied saying she only had water. While in fact she had 2 cocktails! And Hani didn’t drink anything because she didn’t respond to the chat when Jess asked what they’d like to order. Of course Jess could careless about Hani…It’s all about Mirna from the get go. The video of Mirna drinking that, then fanning herself and her head going backwards the way it did - made me sick to my stomach. Watching someone’s suffering and death like that was just heart wrenching. The only thing that I can see as a “positive” (and I hate even using that word in this situation) is that the poor woman didn’t suffer long. She seems like she had only seconds of feeling it before she was out of it all together, because that is an awful way to die. Especially if it’s something that lingers. 💔 The fact that she didn’t want to go alone to meet the murderer shows exactly what she thought of her. And rightfully so. And the murderer hugging Mirna before handing her her death in a glass just infuriated me.

The fact that mirna chose to wait for hani outside instead of meeting Jess in the cafe only infuriated her more. That’s when she put the poison in her coffee.

I don't think you should judge this cases in such a superficial matter. There are several factors and studies around it. For instance, in one hand there is the ideal of rehabilitation of the acussed, in the other, the ideal of neutralization of the danger held within the person. Than, there is the difference between the law and the legal system as a way for justice as people think, or just an instrument of social order, cause it's very difficulty to bring real justice in the real world, and set it apart from vengeance and sense of retribution that is never enough. At least, you have to think in the real victims. The society, and, specially, the family and friends of the deceased person. At first, you would want the most severe penalty for the agressor, because the penalty can't be light enough so it would stimmulaty individual and vengeanfull thoughts and actions, creating a circle of hated. But studies shows that the victims needs to couple with reality with time. And surprisingly, it's better to them to accept that tragic things happen and no sentence would return their loved one. In other words, a world where you kill and get killed brings little hope and capabilities for the person to move on. In the other hand, a world where someone kills and that's the way it is and still have to think about the humanity of the killers, gives incentive to the victims acceptance of the world good and bad, as a whole, giving them better chance to survive in a chaotic system and find peace. So.. You have to read and check the empiric data and always think about the big picture. Those judges, that have the burden to see families destroyed, and cruelty acts, doesn't do a relative light sentence for no reason. There are hundreds of hours in study of books, ideas, concepts and human psychological in it. At least here in Brazil.
@12bru63
@12bru63 2 года назад
Another thing, there are several studies that shows jail as a school of crime. In other worlds, you enter as a robber and go out as a killer, with a worst degree of criminal danger. So.. What do you do? Lock everybody for life? Then you created a system designed solely in the neutralization of the criminals. And it would represent a system that create poverty, Desi qualities, and than, punish people with less. If the system is unjustly, the people that commits unjustified acts are not aggressors, but victims, and the system as a whole must be on trial, as Mandela read and said. So.. If you can't lock someone for life, you have to lock them in the time necessary for the society and family to move on and recover within years, and with no guarantee, while thinking in the possibility of rehabilitation of the criminal. See how it's not so simple, and only based on how we feel and want? Because we humans only have simphaty for the ones we consider equals. And no one choose to do bad things for themselfs because they want to. It's a tough job to judge someone.

I'm sure if she'd said nothing, and she and Hani had rushed Mirna out of the cafe to an ambulance, the cafe staff would have cleared their table, thrown out the coffee, and washed their cups, leaving behind no evidence. All the police would have had is the CCTV footage of Jessica acting suspiciously.

That's because she didn't care about her in the slightest. Her dysfunctional life, the self-destructive behavior, was a result of her dysfunctional interpretation of her own natural emotions. This kind of behavior often creates collateral damage, the result of caring for no one but yourself. She was jealous of Mirna because she believed that Mirna was everything she wanted to be. A dysfunctional interpretation of the natural emotion we call jealousy, is envy. Being jealous of someone is something everyone experiences, and it's important for our mental health. It's only when we try to repress those emotions by continuously reinforcing the idea that it's "bad" or "wrong" to be jealous, the divide between our emotions and the way we act on them, becomes a battlefield. Instead of finding ways to express those emotions, we shove them aside and never deal with them or try to understand why we're feeling that way. Because jealousy is natural, the emotion will always reoccur, and over time, we try harder and harder to push it aside. As the pressure grows, we'll become more and more desperate to hide from it, and will use things like drugs and alcohol. The consequences from doing those things have a snowball effect, and before long, there is no way to stop it from rolling further downhill and it all climaxes in a very destructive event, like driving into a nursing home because you're drunk. Sorry for the novel, I guess I just feel strongly about it all 😂

I would like to add that the cafe manager and everyone around thought it was epilepsy. And at all did not think it was a foul play. Only Jessica's weird comment "what did you put in the coffee?" Made her suspicious and she decided to keep the leftover coffee. Otherwise it would go down the drain and Jessica would never ever be convicted.. as circumstancial evidence means nothing in Indonesia especially when you have rich parents..
@SY-ok2dq
@SY-ok2dq 2 года назад
Haha Jessica ruined her own plans to get away with murder. She must have thought that everyone would find it suspicious that a person would start convulsing after drinking some coffee. In fact, nobody would have made the connection right away but since Jessica knew it was the poisoned coffee, in her mind, she imagined that others would immediately think the coffee was the possible cause and that Jessica was responsible (since she knew she was). So she accused the cafe staff as a way to plant suspicion that it was them, rather than Mirna's companions, which included Jessica. And this tactic to try to divert suspicion away from her failed spectacularly. If Jessica had been smart, she would have tried to get Mirna out of the cafe to hospital, and then left with Hani. Their table would have been empty so staff would have cleared away the drinks and poured the coffee down the drain, without giving it a thought. Even if Mirna had been put into an ambulance immediately, there was no way to save Mirna as cyanide acts extremely quickly.
