The brainchild of head writer Steve O'Donnell, "Connie Plescoe" was portrayed by then-Late Night Assistant to the Producer/Researcher Mary Connelly, who's currently Executive Producer of "Ellen."
Mary to me in 2016: "I had no influence on Connie Plescoe. I believe it came from the mind of Steve O'Donnell. It was based on the fact that there was a network exec who seemed to be pregnant forever."
