I enjoyed the video! The cowboy hat is a true symbol of Americana, as you stated. Around here where I live in West Texas, the 41/2 brim or wider with the cattleman crease crown is very popular. The western stores are lined with them wall to wall. Hard to find anything but that style or a close variation. I prefer a tear drop and a front pinch or center dent and front pinch crown with a 3 1/4 or 3 1/2 inch brim in a cowboy hat. There is not much selection of that style here at all. So, I have turned to Akubra and found what I like. The snowy river or the cattleman, Riverina, and others. I wish there was more selection of what I like here in the stores but the wide brim with cattleman crease is all the rage with the ranchers and farmers. Great video, man. Enjoyable And informative. We both have a high opinion of Akubra. I have three, the only brand I have more than one of. I have three others with the word Outback inside them but I don't know if it is a brand or model name. I bought them at a time when I didn't pay attention to brand names, with Stetson being the only brand name Iwas familiar with. They were all work hats for me for when I was prospecting and horse logging in northern BC and Alberta. The cowboy hat is still popular up here. I played country music for a couple of years and the cowboy hat was part of the stage uniform. I like what you said about work hats and pay hats between cities and rural areas. That division of roles has been true for me. The cowboy hat is too ostentatious for me these days. I should do a vid about the hats I wore working up north. They ain't pretty but they are tough as hell. I also still have the oiled canvas slicker with the second layer of material over the shoulders, great for bad weather horse riding.

Chris, I have enjoyed your videos for several months now. Would you recommend a hat maker near Indianapolis . I would like a hat like Tom Petty wore in in "The Traveling Wilburys "videos. My fist hat was an Acruba federation. Also, love the hat jokes.
