Me being fairly new to BJJ, I've learned so much from your video's. Thank you for the time and effort that you and your team have placed into these video's. You definitely got my support.
Very cool to see your take on the anaconda. I've been a massive darce choke guy since 2007 and I've tried and tried to get the anaconda finish as strong as my darce finish since I saw Rafa Mendes using them at ADCC 2009 and I have always struggled with them. Rafa likes to pull deep but for the same reasons as you, I also seem to have more difficulty with that, and better success with going more shallow. Nice to see a great instructor show it this way too. Makes me feel a little less weird for doing them differently than most. I look forward to the rest of the cradle series! :)
Awesome Andre! Yes I was a Darce guy through and through and now find myself 55:45 in favour of the anaconda and the one arm anaconda too! Happy choking (-: Coach Tom Davey
It seems like all three of these attacks (darce/one-arm anaconda/anaconda) require the opponent's upper arm to be close to his head. What do you do when he keeps his upper arm down at his side? Attack the neck directly? Transition to far-side cradle?
