FFT is my favourite game. I'd like to see ANYTHING else from this franchise.

It doesn’t have to be FFT2, but a new Tactics would be very welcome. Excited for that new Triangle game.

Final Fantasy Tactics is my favorite game of all time. I am 34 and was 11 when I first played it. I still play it at least once every one to two years since release and it is still as fun as the first time I played it. It holds such a giant piece of my heart. I am currently playing FFTA2 at the time of this video and while it isn't the same thing I still really enjoy it. And it is nice to be back in Ivalice. Not sure why another game that follows the original or even a modern remaster hasn't been made available. I know they did the PSP port, but the slowdown in that version especially when I know the game so well, is abhorrent and the definitive way to experience this amazing game is the original PS1 version IMO. A release of War of the Lions that fixes the issues of that would be wonderful.

One of the best stories ever released in a jrpg

I've been playing Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark as it's about the only game I've found that scratches the same itch as FFT, but I'd kill for another FFT or at least a PC port of it.

Really hoping Triangle Strategy takes up the Square Tactics mantle. A customizable story is the replay value FFT was lacking (I replayed it anyway ;P ). If Triangle has jobs and such as well I think it will be huge.

I definitely want to see FFT2 or even an HD Remake/Remaster of FFT for current-gen platforms. It's one of the few FF titles that is almost infinitely replayable with an entirely new experience due to all the different jobs and characters, and that's incredibly rare for games these days.

The story of FFT was such a big part of my childhood. My friends and I would bring our PSXs to the same house and all sit around and play our individual copies, talk about our plans, our job classes, the lore. Those memories are great. Even at 12 years old, we fell in love with the complexities of that world. I still play through the whole game every couple of years (on my old PSX and a CRT tv). I just hope one day they can expand on it. Thanks for the great content.

Why not mentioning the latest SquareEnix survey? FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre are the two most voted titles. Unfortunately I don't know what SE does with that information. Remastering those titles? Remake/Reimagining those? Or create something completely new? We will see :)

As a Tactics RPG fan, I am really looking forward to play another Final Fantasy tactics game, as it is one of my favorite game in all time. Hope that they release a remaster or FFTWOTL in switch, with new contents, or a bunde of two FFTA games.

A revival of the FFT franchise would be great. Especially along similar story telling styles to the original. Hopefully that is what will happen if the rumored Tactics remake/remaster does turn out to be true.

I just want a new Ivalice game, doesn’t matter the genre, that being said, a new sRPG would be greatly welcome.

Yes, Tactics 2 but… I NEED another Vagrant Story. There is so much untapped potential for that style of game. It was a masterpiece.

This and tactics ogre are among my favorite games. I don't know how they just dropped this series and never revisited it. I'm stuck playing Fell Seal on PS4 because anything like this is suddenly slated for the switch

God, what I wouldn't give for a proper sequel (or prequel!) to FFT! The Zodiac Brave Story is so rich that they could definitely create a lot of great stuff.

It’s just a shame that Matsuno had a falling out with SE. I’d love for him to have been creating new game experiences all this time.

Tactics is in my top 2 FF games. I must've played it 100 times, played some mods, messed with my own patches, and most recently FFT Battleground has been incredibly good. Thanks for covering this!

Tactics Ogre: LUCT is every bit as good as FFT, though probably not as memorable.

I loved FF Tactics - and I was so excited when I heard FFXII was set in Ivalice. Playing it felt a little bit like coming home.

Final Fantasy Union: There was almost a sequel for Final Fantasy Tactics! Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Am I a joke to you? Everyone: Yes.

Would love a follow up on the production of FF12 and Tactics a2. It seams like both attempted to have darker stories originally but the change over to square enix + waddas obsession with selling sequels and asset flips didint care. Interfering adding younger characters as protagonists and making a2 lighter.

Here’s hoping the Tactics story and genre continues on. There’s a market for it if Square Enix can bother to look.

FFT from Edios Montreal, the studio behind The Avengers, scares me.

To be honest I don't care what the project is, I know he's no longer with SE but I just want to see more large scale RPGs headed by Matsuno. Ogre Battle, FFT, and Vagrant Story were some of my favorites growing up, well before I knew they shared him as a director.

this was the first tactical turn based/grid rpg game I played and it made me become an absolute fan of the genre. a real work of art.

Yasumi Matsuno is a genius, FFT, Vagrant Story and FFXII are three of my favourite games ever.

Although I knew the vast majority of this, I am absolutely floored and near tears thinking about Matsuno's work and journey that led him to creating my 2 favorite games of all time, FFT and Vagrant Story. I only have hope that someday I could follow in his footsteps to help create a sequel to either, no matter how small the role.

I love your channel, but just want to offer a correction. A game's frame rate has nothing to do with how fast it loads off of a cd-rom or cartridge. Square made good use of the hardware to get it to run at 60fps, but lots of other PS1 games ran at 60fps, the Tekken series for one. And on the other hand, you'll find lots of N64 games that run at embarrassingly low frame rates.

FFT is an absolute work of art, anything new from this universe or with those characters would be much appreciated

I'd love for more in the setting of Ivalice and in the style of Tactics. Best we have right now is War of the Visions.

Ive never played the original Tactics, But Tactics Advanced and Advanced 2 were some of my favorite games growing up. I'm really excited for Triangle Strategy, but I'm a little sad that it's not a true "Final Fantasy" game.

The background music is so great. Love the acoustic guitar for Cloud of Darkness's theme. Also, tactics is probably my favorite game of all time. The story, music, and battle system were so different from what I had played at the time and it cemented the game as the best even now! Would love for it to come to the switch, along with ffta and ffta2!

My excitement for Sqare Enix products has diminished in recent years, but a tactics game would likely drag me back in.

I fell in love with this title when I was a teenager. The PSP version was the only reason why I got a PSP lol.

FFTA is my favorite game ever, and got me to try FFT and other FF games. I'll support any new installment to the Tactics franchise, just for how much it means to me.

I would love to see future Final Fantasy Tactics games with pixelart aesthetics similar to FFTA, only more hi-bit. It would be cool if, much like all the Ivalice games take place, supposedly in the same world as the original Tactics and later FFXII, that they re-used some other already known settings. I would love a FFT set in Spira, for example.

I don't know why there haven't been a fft remaster or fft2. Don't understand square enix way of thinking.

I want a FF Tactics sequel. I want to tame some more Behemoths and Black Chocobos. I want a sequel to Vagrant Story because that game was Bad Ass. Ummmmm...is there a sequel to Ogre Tactics? Loved that game also. I loved replaying the game and finding all the hidden treasures. I also loved building unique teams and trying them out.

I would love to have more in the post lion war-era of FFT. The FFTA universe is too meta for my taste and FF12 has a compleatly different tone.

I love the first Final Fantasy Tactics. I would 100% buy a FFt2 if one was released that was a direct sequel to the orginal FFT and didn't change how the game core functions worked. I would want the job system to be the same and all the Jaz. Though I never really understood the zodiac system how some characters get along better with other depending on what there zodiac sign where.

I need a follow up sooo bad. FFT2 Copium. The FFT Advance series was a step down imo. And FFTA 2 was not even worth my time to beat. But I will continue to Play FFT WotL every year.

It would be nice for Tactics 2 to come someday. In the meantime, it's nice that Square hasn't given up on Strategy games and we'll be getting Triangle Strategy next year. Really hopeful an optimistic about that one.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Zodiac Trials. It could play similarly to the original, except take place long before. Maybe center around primal rituals, forbidden magics in a dark and gritty story leading to the creation of the Zodiac Stones. Idk, I can dream.

I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing Tactics finally get a sequel after all these years. It’s also pretty nice that he got some exposure with the latest Dissidia game, so I would think that’d create an extra appetite for it that we hadn’t seen since the War the Lions version for PSP.

I love fft 1 but ffwotv is it's number two and well......... no its a spin off at best. I also would love to see vagrant story 2. After putting over 1000 hours into it and creating a 100 stat on type are I'd love to see it revived, in full as an mmo.

Hearing about how FFT2 and Vagrant Story 2 could've been a thing hurts a little, but the task of making something better than those games is so monumental that I'm not surprised it hasn't been done yet

I loved Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen. two of my favorite games. Even taking one of the Ogre Battle characters and making a feminine version that I use for MMO characters, turning Canopus into Canopia.

Song @ 7:20 is an acoustic version of "Fisherman's Horizon" from FF8. I wish they'd list the songs from their vids. Took me like 10 minutes to put my finger on it since 8 isn't one of my favorites. The only thing that redeems it in my eyes is the music.

Final Fantasy Tactics and FF6 are my favourite from the franchise, the storytelling is amazing for both.

If anything, I would love another ivalice game. The ingredients: a story with the same qualities as FFT/XII ; compelling character designs by Akihiko Yoshida; music by Hitoshi Sakimoto. And Shakespearean localization, with half the lines being raw as hell. It's such a unique atmosphere... They had really captured lightning in a bottle with three people. I'm just longing to see more of XII (which I always felt ended a solid third too early).

Who's ready to be a Wizard and have Math Skill as a 2nd main skill and holy one shot the entire map again?

The closest thing we've gotten to a sequel is the Ivalice Raids in FF14 *pain*

Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark This is the spiritual successor of the FFT franchise. It takes from all 3 FFT games and refines them into one modern game. Job system, balance and difficulty is the best. There is much better job synergy than FFT while not being too broken like FFTA2. Freedom to combine passive abilities is the best, having 4 passives, 2 from equipped job and 2 from anything else. There is granular custom difficulty you can change any time and encounters are force spawned, not random. Graphics are just ok, and story is at least better than A2, nowhere near WotL. Still best gameplay wise.

Tactics was the first final fantasy game I beat on my own. Mostly because I didn’t find any guide book for it back then lol. The nostalgia hits home big for me on this one.

A prequel where you play as Ramza's father during the 50 yr war theres plenty of lore and back story also playing as a young Orlandu would hit the nostalgic button

I 100% would like another extension of the story in FFT. Pretty much any format would be nice, but another game is always welcome. I always enjoyed Ivalice as a setting in game as well as the extensive branches in character relationships. I got this and FF7 around the same time when I was a kid and each game sunk my younger self so deeply into the franchise I've been made a fan for life. If I had the creative freedom to choose the next installment it would definitely center around the inception of the Zodiac Braves and the stories that made up their legends.

FFTA is besides FF8 the only RPG i keep replaying every year at least once for the last ~19years. I always try to replay it differently to the playthroughs before. Thats a great challenge i made for myself. 2 masterpieces of my childhood i'll never forget.

FFT is my island game but I am thorn. On one side I think Matsuno still have some great ideas floating around that head of his that were not used. FFXIV Bozja fans can attest to that. On the other side, there is the question of how much a producer (I am looking at you fate man!) or even Sqex would interfere to try and make it a blockbuster.

Kids these days would never understand the wars I had against Weigref and Gafgarian. I feel like a lot of FF content these days have been watered down and is too easy. I never felt any more difficult challenges as i did when playing FFT,

I never heard of FFT before I only heard about it after the FF games. I did not even know it was related to FF franchise and I became quite curious about this and thought if the story is as good as the other FF games.

I'd hope one day that FFT makes a genuine comeback in some form. I'd not want a remake as the spritework and world is just too good, and a remaster just doesn't do service. I'd want something for the long awaited sequel that still tackles Ivalice and the outcomes of Delita's rule. While Ramza, Alma, Delita, and Oveilia (Who was confirmed not killed by Delita, but died sometime after her confrontation) uphold their roles. We encounter rumors and a chance meeting with Ramza; who has since taken on a new identity.

I would love to see more stuff from Ivalice…..however only if Matsuno is involved. I know he retired from the gaming industry due to health reasons, but if he helped to write and direct that would be enough for me. It would not be the same without him.

I would like another game exactly like FFT, but it would probably disappoint. FFT was lightning-in-a-bottle, as they say -- a masterpiece that will never come again. RIP Final Fantasy Tactics. I can always replay it.

FF Tactics Advance 2 is actually one of my favorite games of all time. Its for the DS, but damn I have spent hours in it. Replayed it recently and its way better then FFT Advance. Give it a shot

Both FFT and Vagrant Story hild special places in my heart. The storylines, music, character designs and gameplay are just perfect. I still remember how I felt and reacted when I stumbled upon The War of the Lions teaser. I would welcome any piece of IP that Matsuno chooses to give us!❤️

Final Fantasy Tactics is my #1 most favorite RPG game. (I also enjoyed the War of the Lion remaster on PSP. The animated cutscenes were very well done and voice acted.) Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger being my #2 and #3.

FFT is my favorite game of all time, and ever since I played it on the ps1 when I was a kid all I wanted was more of it. I've played many tactics games over the years and all of them fall short in some way. I really want to experience a game that will elevate the genre above what FFT did, but until then it'll remain the undisputed #1 on my book.

By playing FFT at a young age (in 2003), I then-forever strive for games that give the same feeling of accomplishment & reward throughout the whole game.

It's sad that they developed assets for War of the Visions and didn't deliver a good game...

Yasumi Matsuno is an absolute genius. Basically everything he touches is gold. My favourite aspect of his work is his insistence on mature storytelling, hard truths and anti-romantiscm. Now, I know a lot of FF fans (especially more modern ones) probably find his style of storytelling almost impenetrable. As he strongly avoids all the tropes of JRPG's and strongly leans into Western ones. What do I mean? Well in JRPG's you expect a air of cuteness. This is rarely ever seen in his works. Even though FFT may look cute on the surface, all of the art is purposefully meant to be simple yet evocative. No annoying chilish characters allowed (looking at you FF13). Gender reversal and anti romance: One of the strangest aspects to his work which I adore but I know some people don't like, is the gender reversal and use of androgyny. A lot of the male characters in his works are quite beautiful, slender men with long slick back hair and groomed beards (especially in FF12). Now I know you will say "ugh, all RPG's do that nowadays? All the make characters are cute girlyboys uwu". But thats not the case in his works, he clearly wants the men to be attractive but not to the point of being completely effeminate. Its a fine line and I love it. The same is for the female characters who are never drawn to be objects of sexual ogling. Even a character like Fran, who doesn't wear much is drawn to be much taller than all the other male characters and very intelligent. And yes, it's clear that Yasumi Matsuno does not like romance and I love this aspect of his works. Romance is usually used as a crutch for boring storytelling (sorry FF8, you had an interesting story, overshadowed by needless melodrama). Theres no space for romance in war. And lastly id just love to say that I love how he isnt afraid to have stories that completely fuck you. Anyone who has completed FFT can attest that the ending is a deliberate attempt to remove all satisfaction from the player. A purposeful rugpull that has you thinking about how it played out for years. EDIT: Also like to add that TRIANGLE TACTICS or whatever its called looks like FFT completely stripped of everything that was amazing about it. The art style is garish and tropey, like a bad modern Fire Emblem game. The playfield is cluttered and confusing looking. The story appears to be nothing but an absolute mess, hiding itself beneath a veneer of "political drama" without any of the nuance of actually good political dramas. And the atmosphere is stripped of all the beauty of the original Yasumi Matsuno tactics games. It just like like "we have bloom and rain. Thats atmosphere right?" No. Its not. Also, PLAY CRIMSON SHROUD. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN WE PLAY GET A REMASTER OF CRIMSON SHROUD?! The game is amazing and the art style perfect but the game just looks hideous on the underpowered 3DS. God I wish it had come out on the VITA or something. Also Square? You are remaking FFT right? Dont screw it up like you did the android port. Shit looks fucking hideous. Keep the sprites at integer, don't be using any blending tech or bloom, and make sure you use a light film of scanlines. Dont make it a soft mess like you do all your new remakes. Give it to M2. They did well with Legend if Mana

I would love for them to "redo" FFT for modern game systems, with the plan that they make a trilogy of titles in the same/similar style so we'd get a complete update of FFT and 2 extra games. Which is an impossibly big "ask" and would never happen. Even if those "extra games" were just added chapters to a core game etc.

It has a good spiritual successor in Fell Seal, just don't go in expecting the same art style. It's far more D&D aesthetically inspired.
