I only buy genuine Mikuni jets and jet needles from Sudco, which is right here in Southern California :) They also carry a full range of genuine Keihin carburetors and jets.
I like to use the polini jet kits for my mikuni carbs seem to be well produced. Has the jet size down the side instead of on the bottom too on the mains so easier to read
Interesting one this as I’d been dialling in a Dellorto carb and use genuine parts and found that my main jet (150) was actually a (142) 😳. Anyway I now use the KMT branded main jets which a very accurate too their sizing.
Hi Dan I’m wondering if you can help me? I’ve just bought my first scoot a 2011 px125. I want to ditch the cat and swap for a sip Road 2. I found the great articles you wrote for scootering back in 2017 about doing just that. In it you wrote that “jetting as standard: Si 20/20 carb with 140 air corrector - BE5 atomiser - 96 main, and a 45/145 pilot. When fitting the SIP Road 2.0 exhaust, I changed the air corrector to a 120 and the pilot jet to a 50/100. All else remained the same. This did give ever so slightly rich readings, especially lower down the rev-range, but that’s how I like to run things… nice n’ safe”. The only 50/100 jets I can find are short jets specifically for the T5. Will these work with a PX and is that what you used. Thanks.
Quality cost's money no matter what hobby your in. I can understand people can't always afford to buy best branded products but I always remember what my grandad taught me BUY CHEEP BUY TWICE!! And maybe buy cheep destroy a motor!!! P.s just bought my 1st lammie 1982 jet200🙂👍
Do you have an opinion on the BGM 6mm jets? They sell kits with a nice assortments of sizes, and my experience with their products in general is that they are made with some attention to detail, so I’m curious if you have any experience with them or any comment on them.
