Recently built a lambretta motor with a brand new 90 quid BGM stator, after 100 miles of running in I hit a hard pothole with the back wheel and started getting the not revving out half hiccup. Pulled the stator out and put in a really old Indian 12v one with a matched flywheel that I had lying around and all good. Only problem now is I don't remember where I got the BGM one from so can't send it back...good lesson there to keep all your bleedin paperwork
Dan, thanks for this very good. Riding my TS-1 the other day it started not pulling properly above 5K, was stuttering. I pulled over to side of road, i have fitted one of the external pick-ups sold by Scootronics, both pick-ups are wired through a switch so its an easy switch over between the two. Made a great difference, totally back to normal. When i got home i tried this test of yours on both pick-ups, and both revved quite happily up to 8-9K. So can the internal pick-up on the stator be breaking down because when riding its under much higher loads?
I have serious issue with my idle screw that doesnot decreses the rpm. I tried fixed throu mixture but no luck its being 1 month now. I have vespa super 150.. 1975
My px has had a new CDI and stator, did the timing using a buzz wangle and strobe, it will idle but won’t rev. I swapped out the carbys and I had power, coming home today, it died coming down a hill. Started straight away but wouldn’t rev, what should I be looking for?
