At this time Ray was playing an electric keyboard bass with one hand, and the organ with one hand. Drummer was John Densmore, fantastic drummer. Robbie Krieger was also a phenomenal guitarist.

He was tired cause he was up 36 hrs. And trial. He was pretty much done with the scene. He gave it his all on the vocals, but he was missing parts that's why Ray takes over on vocals because Jim misses some...He had to do it more and more the band toured. Jim was Drunk a lot. Sometimes he passed out and Ray would take over. Watch his younger day lives they are crazy lol. There's a documentary on him called when you're strange narrated by Johnny Depp. Really cool show a little over an hour long

Who has a voice like that in their 20s? Someone very deep in their bottles, smokes a fuckton of weed every day, and practically bathes in the best LSD you could ever find in LA. Another similar singer would be Shane McGowan from The Pogues who drank, very likely, a gallon of whiskey a day since he was 12 years old - may he rest in peace with a glass of punch below his feet and an angel at his head.

he hadnt slept in 3 days coming off an atlantic flight to sing in europe & dealing w/ the miami trial... his voice is good but his energy level is lower then normal... there are better live versions of this song on film.

Ray played a Fender Rhodes keyboard bass and on this version a Gibson Kalamazoo keyboard. Robby Krieger on guitar and John Densmore on drums. The Doors used a bass player on the studio albums. They played live as a quartet only 3 more times after the Isle of Wight . Should check out The Soft Parade song.

Almost true and sadly so many dont get that is not on All album tracks they use a bass player. Some tracks only have Rays fender rhodes bass like when the musics over, and love me two time, People with just a little music ear can easily hear the difference between a real bass and fender rhodes bass. A song like peace frog is only with real bass and at last some songs have both real bass and fender rhodes bass. Light My fire and take it as it comes..

@@thedoorswin163 yes on the first album Ray’s keyboard bass can be heard but they also used session bass players. Doug Lubahn was used on WFTS and Soft Parade they wanted him to join but he declined.
