Young people just don’t get a chance to listen to a lot of it. The have an idea of what is it and they turn themselves off because it’s “old” or “corny” or whatever.
Next time you see a little old white lady in her 60s or 70s, remember this is what she was jamming to when she was young, and we all had the hots for Jim.
I love it when you comments here saying "next time you see... Or when I was a young... Living in...". I think what we should all get out of this channel is you can never prejudge a person. We are not all we seem to be on the outside, and the older we are the more stories we have. I was lucky to have been raised by my grandparents as my parents traveled incessantly. I never dismiss an elder person and I cherish the lessons I learned from them. (I'm a writer so I like listening to people's stories anyway) Rock on lady, Rock on!
This is one of the best Doors songs, I jam to it when I'm driving. So is LA Woman. I'm glad you did those two. Doors songs. I've been following you on RU-vid for awhile and love that you are open minded and have some musical taste. Also, on a more personal note and I mean this only in the best way: it is great to work hard toward your goals, but you also need to have a life too, things like sleep, fresh air, etc. So don't apologize for taking some time for yourself. Everyone needs it. You (thank God) are not a robot.
The Doors. Light My Fire, Live on Ed Sullivan Show. Ed asked Jim Morrison to change a verse in the song he would be singing ahead of time, thinking that it was to obscene for the audience . Jim said O.K. Then sang the verse the original way. Needless to say , The Doors were never invited back on the Show, LOL
Do you know what makes me laugh now Today's songs say more about drugs and sex some even go into details lol And let us not forget how some sing about shit life's they have lead etc........ Long gone are the songs about running along the tulips lol Australia 💕 Christina

Play The End, but know that Jim gets weird late in the song. He is a weird guy but such a great artist. Also react to Light My Fire (only the long version), and LA Woman. I really enjoy listening to music with you. You're very likeable, I'm sure you'll do great.
And yeah Jim Morrison is the person singing and he’s the guy in the picture. He died at 27 in 1971. This song is the opening track on their 1970 album Morrison Hotel. The version you reacted to is a differently mixed version that’s a little different than the Morrison Hotel one but it’s still good.
@60s addict, do you know if there is any live versions of this with Lonnie Mack playing bass on this song. Or if it is just the studio versions. Just curious would love to listen with Lonnie playing.
@ 60s addict. Ok thanks thought so because i could never find any videos in Lonnies videos, just mostly stuff he did with SRV. Do you know if its the studio version that you listed.
Yes. Harmonica. Yes, photo is Jim Morrison. When I used to play professionally (Lead guitar) this was one of the songs that I used to sing (I sang in the same key as him) and it was our ‘bring it home’ song. Loved doing it. :)
Love this song. It always seemed to play on radio as I was heading home in the early a.m. made me want to start the night again. Good times. Great musician
Jim loved to sing the blues!!! I totally dig when the cat does his scat singing in the middle of the song. BTW, this is a newer mix of the song, where they have some new sounds and separation.
I first heard "Roadhouse Blues" when i bought the Doors album, "Morrison Hotel" about 10 years ago. It always sounds fresh and SO cool. Another great track on that album is "Waiting For The Sun." In fact, all the tracks are great.
A classic rock station out of Albany NY used to play this song every Friday morning at about 7:00 in the morning to welcome the weekend. I woke up this morning, and I got myself a beer.......
Roadhouse blues one of their best! And yes that’s Jim. That’s The Very Best Of The Doors album with all their hits. Got that cd up in my room from my dad. You should check out touch me next, or if you want a more up beat song like this, do break on through or love me two times. They have so many great songs it’s unbelievable, I could recommend so many but start with their hits
My favorite song by them. It's my prep song before I lift weights. If you dig this, you need to check out Peace Frog by them. It's a catchy, strange little blues number.
I would just love to hang out and listen to music with you guys! Your appreciation for all types of music is so awesome, and I love sharing new music with people. I love watching these videos! It’s so refreshing, and nice to watch something that makes me happy.
IF you wat to hear another amazing voice from this era she's rock, blues AND soul combined. Janis Joplin 1969 Frankfort, Germany Ball and Chain/ Summertime. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! PROMISE!
I was 3 when this song was recorded! I had to wait for years to be able to listen to this and actually it ! I loved this song because I hated Disco at a teen
When the Doors were touring, and after the concert, Morrison would often go to the black part of town to find the blues bars. He would drink beer and listen until they closed. Sometimes he would be recognized and asked to sing with tbe band. Often they would lock the DOORS at closing time and play until the sun came up. The blues had a special place in his soul. In the song LA woman he sings...Mister "mojo rising" rearranged the letters spell Mister " Jim Morrison". Would be a good song for you to critique. Keep up the good work....Thumbs-up.
Raw music is wonderful you are correct. It takes a lot of talent to play raw music and that is where all the computerize music actually comes from because you have to copy off of that kind of music to make it that way. Bravo you guys are absolutely wonderful and I enjoy coming on here to comment listen and react along with you thank you so much. I am from back in the day and I happen to have known Jim Morrison before he was famous.
Looking at this your subscriber goal was 20k. As of today November 20th 2020 your about to crack 720K!!! That's so spectacular. You guys deserve it. You're genuine and engaged. Love you 2!!
You know, I really dont know what led me here, but I stayed, and I subscribed. Your appreciation for music from before your time is authentic and impressive. I really enjoy your videos, young man. Thank you, from an old music loving vet in ATX.
The story I heard was, while they were on a break between recordings, Jim was having a smoke with Alice Cooper, and Alice told him he'd woken up that morning and grabbed himself a beer. That statement resonated with Jim enough that he wrote it into the song. Not sure how accurate that story is, but it makes for a great story.
The Doors are legendary rock band that unfortunately two members have passed away. Enjoying all of your post reactions to the music. I suggest that you listen to Sammy Hagar starting with I Can't Drive 55 then Heavy Metal the Give To Live, Eagles Fly, Marching To Mars, Mas Tequila, Shaka Doobie. Also check Sammy's time with Van Halen.
Great music soothes the soul!! Especially The Doors!! 🌌❤❤❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁 I love hiding in this musical forest! Thanks for do N what you all do!! = ) You are genuine!! ❤🌸🐦
LOVE your reactions, and yes! Keep exploring The Doors!!! Diggin them Blues? PLEASE try some Buddy Guy, WHAT KINDA WOMAN IS THIS! If you don't instantly start GROOVIN to this music... don't bother, you are already dead!! Pure FIRE!!!
Cool song, hadn't heard it before. Thanks for keeping these wonderful old songs alive. I recommend "This Time" by Waylon Jennings from 1974. I think you'll like it.
yes!!! more Doors!! The End, Soul Kitchen, Love Me Two Times, When the Music is Over, People are Strange, Moonlight Drive, The Unknown Soldier, Wild Child, Peace Frog... anything!! you’re dope, stay blessed ✌️✨
Yeah, that piano is the brilliance of Ray Manzarek. R.I.P. I agree with the commenter who suggested listening to 'The End'. It's beyond music, beyond poetry, beyond story. It's ART.
Ray Manzarek was the guy who played keyboards with The Doors. Great player. The Doors didnt usually have a bass player. Ray did the bass part on most songs on a Fender Rhodes bass electric piano while playing a Vox Continental organ with his right hand.
They got their name from: the doors of perception...a line from a famous book. Will hav 2 look it up... But..alot of people dont know this. Luv ur reviews 🌝🌝
That's basically a blues jam, the 60s' was about young white men who loved the black man's music blues and R&B, learned how to play it, and then wrote the blues sound into their own music. The Rolling Stones and the Animals were two bands that stand out as examples of this. Black people of this era didn't want to hear the blues anymore but young white musicians brought the blues back to the young people of the day and caused a huge resurgence of the blues which brought artists such as BB King, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, and many more out from the Chitlin' Circuit and into the mainstream of American culture. So it was young white blues-loving musicians, myself included, who saved the blues and made it the Gold Standard for musicians all over the world now, sixty years later. Love your reactions and Thx for playing Billie Holiday!!! Please react to "Catfish Blues" by Big Jack Johnson.
Please keep up the Doors reactions as much as you can. I subscribed for those specifically 👌 I agree with you. The music from, this era was all about instruments, solos and great vocals Please react to more of The Doors.
