Nothing beats these people like spite, petty stubbornness, and a coffee cup in need of a refill.

My favorite is to say “did you know waiting out a timer on purpose just for the loot is a reportable offense? :)” and watch the people scramble to roll.

One time i was running ivalice with my wife for her first attempt and asked the group to hold for first timers watching cutscenes, and as you can expect some jackass mentor pulled and then mocked the newcomers. And i called him out for being a dick. At the end of the duty he stood around and did that lalafell emote spam to try to irritate me, so i just didn't roll any loot. And he obviously needed something and he started asking me to roll once he realized what i was doing and so i then of course waited out the timer lalihopping for him. Guess pulling and mocking the newcomers after being asked to wait for cutscene didn't save you much time after all lol.

I will actually sit down when I notice someone doing this. I ain't going anywhere until they roll, even if I already passed.

I love doing this to players, especially in normal raids from heavensward etc. They probably don't want it but get it anyway.

lmao, here is a tip if you want to never see someone again after you complete any duty where someone behaved inappropriately go to your "social" menu, there you'll find the "contacts" option its a list of all the people you have run into on a duty (like dungeons, raids, etc) you can blacklist anyone on that list, making it so you dont run into them on any other duties, etc!

@@BirdCyclops Good advice. I haven't had to use that particular function much but it's a very good thing that it does exist for those extreme cases of bellend.

@@BirdCyclops this is wrong information. Blacklisting has nothing to do with Duty finder. All Blacklisting does is make it so you can’t see what they say, and prevents them from joining any party finders you put up. You can 100% get qued in with people you black list.

adding to Adan's reply for one sec: there is a small limitation on the contacts list, it only shows the last 50 players you've been in duties with. Normally that doesn't matter too much, but on content heavy periods like patch days where you might be running a bunch of 8-man or 24-man fights, it's good to keep that limit in mind for how soon you want to blacklist them

Just remember: only ONE person can roll a 99, so the sooner you roll the higher the odds of not losing the chance to be that one.

If you're bored enough, check chat and namedrop them. Embarrassment usually makes them stop with that riiight quick.

Surely you mean the healer, tanks do not get commends :^) (I'm half joking, but a lot of the time, I know the healer's getting most - if not all - of the commends.)

@@IrideaeSnowbloom For me it's the opposite: the tanks get the majority of the comms (or at least they did before adventurer portraits existed). Might be different across servers/data centers as well, though.

I don't think I seen any group just leave when people do this. Several people will wait it out even for random drops they don't need anymore.

its okay, when i first started i would use my AOE DPS buff abilities away from the group because i was salty my damage was so low we all have a dark past i guess 😭👍
