I haven't been able to do anything with my hair. Ive been a tom boy my whole life and now that im in my 30's, its time for a change. I have been watching video after video on messy buns and this one is the absolute best by far. Thank you so so much.

My daughter has one of those brushes and refuses to use it. The only one she'll use is the WET brush....and barely. I have to brush her hair straight out of the shower; it takes about 15-20 minutes to get all of the tangles out. She refuses any other brush or comb. And she refuses to do it herself. She's 12 now. I'm hoping this ends soon--or she just finally gets a really dramatically short haircut!
get some "it's a 10" leave in conditioner...my daughter has wavy hair that she likes to wear to her waist, i couldn't get a pick comb through it without leave in conditioner. sometimes it's just the kid. Some really don't like the sensation of having their hair brushed.

MakeupAddictMiranda hair long to your butt? That's hip length! You should be very careful with hair that long. Messy buns and ponytails are the worse things for such long hair. Go to torrin Paige Channel and learn the real stuff!
MakeupAddictMiranda you should look up Nautilus bun for long hair with no pins. I used to have hair that long, and the bun is tight and secure with no clips/pins :)

This seems easy like you said, but I have very very long and thick hair, no matter natural curly or straight. This is more of a thin hair or maybe shorter hair easy messy bun! Very pretty though.

Great tutorial! I'll be coming back to watch your others! Does your hair stay in with just the elastic? It seems like the shorter hairs would come out? I'll have to see how well it will work on my daughter's shorter, fine hair.
I've been trying to get a secure messy bun, so many different ways.. usually with tons of retries before I'm out the door. I love the idea of this technique, and can't wait to try this way. I enjoyed the video, and the bobby pin opening thing was very nice to know.
