hahah just thought the same. amazing video. i remember back in 2012 i already loved fives and echo. so glad that at least one of them survived. and that fives is the reason why rex didn't follow through with order 66 and echo being one of those rare clones to not be affected by order 66. makes me happy to see. just wondering why none of them was seen with rex gregor and wolfe in rebels. btw I'm so happy they use the clone wars animation style and not the ugly rebels animation.
@@OREMETOSMusic echo isn’t effected because “ he is more machine than man” he doesn’t have a chip cause his brain is mostly cybernetic therefore the chip has either been removed or the chip doesn’t work because of the mechanical changes to echo’s head.
What if cutup didn't die. Yea we see him snatched up and taken into the caves by a giant eel. But we never actually see him die and the other clones just assume that he died. Who's to say he was just dragged in but never swallowed by the eel. And by the time he made it out of the complex maze of caves the others have already left
Not entirely true, the rifle supplied to Obi-Wan while he was disguised as a bounty hunter in The Box had been fully depleted before he could shoot his last target, and later in that same arc another rifle given to him was only good for a single shot.
*Y’know, it’s just occurred to me why they might’ve been called “Domino Squad”...* *When one (Droidbait, Cutup, & Hevy) died, the others started dying, falling like a load of DOMINOES* _Welp, now I’m sad_
What we indivually love about domino squad: Hevy: impulsive and badass Fives: protective and just a legend Echo: always ready to protect his brothers Cutup: amazing accent and funny Droidbait: can always raise his brother's confidence. 99: truly became a soldier and a honorary member to domino squad. We miss them all. Be sure to comment what you love about domino squad.
Domino squad has the most sad story in the clone wars because they are killed one by one (before we know echo is alive in season 7) and fives death is the most sad death in all the clone wars show but I like them all especially fives because of his arc doing the war from a cadet to an arc trooper and there is a good deviantart image of how they look if the squad survive and join the 501st Also the name of the arc trooper is commander colt
@@idk5716 his death is in 4 place in my top 10 clone trooper death after tup, in third place. second is to see Jesse's helmet after the crash. And the first is fives because I really love his character
Honestly fives’ death wasn’t that sad for me, just... sickening almost. It filled me with dread just knowing how evil palpatine is and the fact that nobody in the story knows what’s really going on. It shows how insignificant a single person can be and how easy it is to be manipulated
When Cutup got... Cut up, the clones reactions weren't all that shocked for some reason. I thought it was really strange. Like, the eel bites him and the clones are "Ahhh what the hell is that!?" "It's an eel. That's why we have the regulation to not go outside." _they walk away_ "Poor Cutup..." Meanwhile like... Hevy's death was like "HEVYY NOO!". What did Cutup do to deserve that?
I never understood why Cutup and Droidbait never got more character development, Cutup especially, humour in a clone was very uncommon and seeing Cutup making jokes all the time would’ve been great!
I loved seeing them die. It’s a good way to raise the stakes and it makes you realize that at the end of the day, 95% of the clones died without doing something cool or heroic like heavy or the others, and just got shot, or stabbed, or some disease from the world they were on and died. It also makes us value the remaining members much more because we in a sense feel the pain of loss they’ve gone through which builds connection
@@dracrorasco4907 I don’t know about the rest of the bad batch tho because weren’t there mutation designed to happen? If that’s true it would make some sense that their chips would still be active
16:52 - 17:13 Five's death is definitely one of the most saddest moments in TCW series. To this day, I still cry rewatching this scene right here. 😭😭😭😭😭
True. I cryed as a kid, and i am still crying Just to think about it. Watching this scene hits different. It's even worse than Echo's dead, Jesse's actions during order 66 or Han Solos death
@@mequana yeah even more worse now with the Bad Batch series already on full swing, it's possible that the cloning process will come to an unfortunate end. With the damage that came with Order 66 has already been done.
@@mequana yep I didn't even notice echo die I spent the whole time thinking I know he's alive so where is he and then I realized that hit hard it was right after I watched fives death that I realized so every time I watch it I become disappointed *sigh* and sad
Five's death remains the saddest Clone death for me. I only watched that whole arc once and haven't watched it since. I refuse to. It's just too sad. It's just as sad that when Echo was freed and got his life back, his best friend was gone.
Literally the saddest moment and one of the hardest arch to watch. The Jedi fuck up so much in that arch and after that arch. It’s follows by them finding out that doku created the clone army. What does Yoda say after all that . “Truth must be hidden, winning the clone wars before our enemies design is complete, we must”
Status of the domino squad: Hevy: died blowing up the scout base to warn they allies of the separatist invasion. Echo: alive and is currently a member of the bad batch. Fives: shot trying to expose palpatines conspiracy against the jedi Droid bait: shot by a droid Cutup: attacked by an eel Ninty nine ( he's a member in my eyes): died protecting his brothers during the sepratist invasion on kamino
Echo's chip could have possibly been removed from the techno union when he was captured because 1, they had to do surgery on him to give him the inplants and technology, 2 there are stuff on his head, where the chip is located, and 3 the techno union would've removed it because they would've realized it was a Kamino produced chip, hence believing it was a something to do with the republic, removing it.
Yah, besides, why would the separatists want the clone who they are being used to help trge separatists side have a chip in their head that overrides their brains to Execute any order given by the republic’s Chancellor?
I wish they’d at least given droidbait some characterization, I get that Echo, Fives, and Hevy had greater plot relevance but at least Cutup had enough screen time to let you know he was a smartass. I think there was at least one scene that got removed from the final product where Elis gave him a pep talk like what Bric gave to Cutup.
I think it was just because Droidbait literally didn’t exist until that Cadets episode arbitrarily tried retconning him into one of those two unnamed clones that died offscreen in Rookies. As such, they decided giving him development was pointless. But that just begs the question, WHY EVEN TRY TO MAKE HIM A CHARACTER!?
Unpopular Opinion: The Rebels/Resistance and the Imperial armies were like total downgrade compared to the Clones. Then again, that is why Filoni is the best for making the Clone Wars that good.
I don't think that's an unpopular opinion haha. The Clones were bred for war to be perfect soldiers but were really expensive. So yes the Clones were the best army, the Empire just got cheap and started just recruiting natural born people lol
@@JAE719 That’s true. But what I meant was character. You care about the clones and cry when even a unnamed one dies. That the same couldn’t be said with the other factions...in my opinion.
The clones and their gear were all created for winning a war. The empire’s stormtroopers were more for policing the planets they conquered, and the mud troopers were basically canon fodder to throw at those who resisted occupation. Definitely a case of quantity over quality. Clones were definitely better.
Oh I couldn’t disagree more with any of you I did not care at all when an unnamed clone died I think the only clone I cared about when they died is FIVES
Knowing the CIS, they probably discovered the chip in Echo’s head and removed it, thinking it was a mini self-destruct device, as a fail safe in case Clones were captured. As for the Bad Batch/ Clone Force 99, they probably never had the chips too begin with, thinking that while in combat, the chips would malfunction, causing their heads to (literary) explode.
The Arc of Domino Squad is just Incredible. The way they go from Cadets who were going to be cast aside, To some of The Greatest Clones of all Time is just Brilliant! This Is My Favorite Show of All Time and My Favorite Star Wars Content ever! It's very special to Me and so are all of The Clones. It's Incredible that they took what could have been Soldiers who were all the same, and made them all Unique and Different. This Show is an Absolute Masterpiece and This was A Great Video!!! FORRRRRR THE REPUBLIC!!!!!!
... Or, option four: Echo realized there was an issue due to the futzing of his brain and the cyber master of the group found the chip in all of them and removed them and because of this, they're all still alive and in hiding like Rex and his men were.
If you take into account the CW wasn’t as long but in assumption wise, based off timeline of the war.. it was probs the year before they went into phase 2.
The episodes aired out of order. Rookies is supposed to be between clone cadets and arc troopers in season 3, but bc it aired in season 1 accidentally, it didn’t
@@dedenne1341 It was no accident. The Cadets episode hadn’t even been planned out yet. That’s why Droidbait literally isn’t a character in Rookies, and why Fives and Echo disappear for two seasons straight. The roadmap for their story arcs weren’t finished.
To Domino squad. Each of them fought for the bigger picture, and although mostly in vein, without them, things could have been lost. Echo may be the last surviving squad member of Domino squad, but arguably, the Domino Echo died on that day of the accident.
@@carsonbaird3904 Its not called heavy,Its called Hevy Also Yes You Are Right I Think He Didnt Deserve Death His Acts Was More Brave And Important Than Fives
I find it more likely that the chip was removed when he was being turned into a cyborg as the sepratives would have definitely found it and would have wanted to remove it to prevent any unknown actions or issues with the electronics
I always thought that it might be a slightly better story if Echo and Fives went to the 501st AND the 212th, because both commanders liked them and helped them gain experience. It would also be cool if Fives survived, resisted Order 66, and became a hero of the Rebels.
A few months ago, I realized something: Dogma is what Echo would’ve been had he not developed his own independent thinking and nuance. His “ARC Trooper” tendencies if you will. Someone who’s so by-the-book that they can’t bear straying from it. At least that’s how I see it.
the clone shown when you mention Droidbait's death wasn't Droidbait, that was CT- 327, Droidbait was killed after that alongside Nub in the hallway before the droids killed Sergeant O'niner.
At 8:17 Echo (the clone on the left) sports a Z-6 rotary blaster on his left thigh as a tribute to Hevy. At 8:20, Fives also sports the Z-6 on his right shoulder.
1) it still hurts every time seeing how close Fives was and 2) it’s crazy watching this after The Bad Batch cause I truly believed that Echo and the Batch ended up with The Empire.
@@metealpesk555 it was ment to show the armor was shinie so rex did put the hand there so it would me mean his armor isnt that dirty but i love how the eel got blue blood like a kinda forshadowing that he joins the 501
Gree if you see this don’t you think that Echo is now living up to his name? Because I think so! With his cybernetics given to him by Wat Tambor. I expect to outlast the whole Bad Batch series apart from Omega.
I feel bad. I always wondered what happened to Droidbait from Domino squad and was too stupid to notice he was the one who immediately died to the commando droids.
I'd like an episode before the final test so maybe when their children on the vr devices In the first half and then maybe just normal training and the episode could end with them being told how the next test was a practice for the real final test
Really stupid but if you watch bad batch he does not care at all. They literally mentioned fives once and echo didn't even respond or asked what happened. So ridiculously stupid. Its not even that hard to make a few lines about his old squad
And it's sad too because the Jedi Council didn't decide to look into what Fives was trying to prove, they let the key slip right through their fingers and into a sewer drain. That's possibly the biggest mistake the Jedi Council made in the Clone Wars.
