The essentials for setting up a bowfishing bow 

Got a Gen X Cuda fishing bow and ADS bottle retriever.. went with a Hydro Glide rest (saw on another vid).. wish I'd watched this first. I like the roller, although the bright red against my blue camo bow looks pretty good. The main thing I learned from the video was about loosening/reversing the barb on the tip. My 6 arrows came yesterday. I also thought the way you attached the string to the slide was interesting. I just single tied mine with a square knot. Thanks for the info! In NC, catfish aren't considered game fish so I'm not stuck with targeting trash fish.. I avoid killing anything I won't eat. I understand about invasive species, but that's a topic for another day. I'll leave that to the mercenaries. lol

You do not need a sight it’s easier without a sight

I don't use these "assentials" at all. I use a plain bow no peep sight no front sight and a cheap 30 dollar bowfishing rig and i have shot many monster fish with no prob.
