nah, Dante didn't under estimate Nero, he was just messing with him and letting the kid get his anger out, you can see him literally holding back going into devil trigger cuz his body naturally wanted to fight back but he wanted to play dead to give nero a chance to show him what he's made of, even when he got pinned to the statue and dramatically let out that last gasp and went limp to mess with Nero even further, my man was in control of that entire encounter if you ask me probably more so impressed then accidently letting Nero get the leg up on him, cuz if he let his DT go, there'd be no Nero left lets be honest

Alastor must be an incredibly powerful demon if he considers dante to be weak even at that stage in his life. Though to be fair looking at dmc 3 & dmc 1, the demons in dmc 1 are all implied to be above almost everything we fought in dmc 3. Specifically nelo angelo, the force edge couldn't even harm him, but sparda and alastor are able to Goes to show you how OP dante is in dmc 2 because he beats a threat similar to mundus without needing that boost from the devil sword sparda

@@kaminaridenki2165 It is. As a game on its own, DmC is actually quite good. Just not as a DMC game. Even then it's still far better than DMC2.

Because he didn't have the sparda with him and it probably had to be something Dante himself would have to do. The nico report for the sword questions if it was the rebellion or if it was Dante himself who merged the two swords.

If I'm correct, Rebellion is the counterpart to the Yamato. It can actually fuse the demon and human parts of someone together. The Devil Sword Dante and by extension Dante's Sin Devil Trigger are the result of him using this ability to fuse Rebellion and Sparda into himself, by my guess he had to do it willingly

There was nothing to fuse with and Nero did not know how his uncle's sword worked. Dante is already a fusion of demon and human so nothing would happen unless the statue of his old man had some demonic power within it. Also it seems like it can only combine man with devil if the current wielder wants it to happen, like when vergil wanted dante to accept his demonic side when he stabbed him, so when you have a person who although has the power to use this feature doesn't even know it exists stabs the legendary demonic slayer, nothing happens.
