2042 was suppised to be a bf hero shooter, but ea told them to make another all out war kind of game. They did this halfway through development. (If i remember right. Look into it yourself)

That is honestly the part that makes me saddest, that the game is finally at the point it should’ve been on launch after three years and that state only came with it’s final update. Plus it’s obvious Dice wasn’t ready to can the game when EA forced them to move on. Ahsoka and Ventress were both in development last Spring, likely for a Clone Wars/Siege of Mandalore update that would’ve come after TCW S7
The ironic thing is that the 2017 feels more like a simulation. It feels more accurate. The appeal of the 2005 version though is that it's a sandbox of chaos where players are granted a great degree of freedom
I can guarantee that someone in DICE cared about the lore. One of the random lines you could get from Dooku when spawning as him is "One man should be able to make a difference if he is powerful enough", which is a random quote by him speaking to Sidious around 2/3 in to the Plagueis Novel.
people don’t give the dialogue enough credit. it’s so good and so are all the hero interactions. the ppl who wrote them were definitely actual star wars fans also made even better is the fact that they hired a lot of the OG voice actors to play their characters again, makes the whole thing even higher quality

Perfect is a strong word. I love ewok hunt. It's a terrific mode with a lot of tension and a great feeling of accomplishment if you win as the troopers. Love it. It's not perfect though. Heroes vs villains on the other hand... Amazing now.
This isn’t EA’s win, but a win for the small team that was left working in the game, do the Takkodana Easter egg people! Praise Lord Dennis for keeping us up to date with all the plans for the game! (The guy who announced the Grievous DLC on EA play).
Best memory of this game: Alone in a tight corridor trying to get to objective. Almost there, Vader comes out from corner, slowly walks toward me, im blasting like a madman, it does nothing, i try running, I fell like I’m about to escape, he force chokes me and proceeds to throw lightsaber at the 3 guys who came after me. Coolest and most terrifying thing ever. Gonna miss this game.
I’m newer to the game so for me it was winning my team the supremacy match by pushing forward and opening all the doors whilst they all stuck back and covered me

Imagine knowing that they canceled the development of this game to create 2042. It’s a shame, this game has great graphics, fun gameplay, and beautiful maps. I wish they would bring back devs to this game to just bring a couple updates a year with new content.
Nah they abandoned Battlefield V for 2042 and that was the best decision ever since Battlefield 4 was the popular DICE game. This game got years of content available.
Games that are “So Awesome” that Act Man has not reviewed: Red Dead 2 Fallout New Vegas Modern Warfare 1 DooM 1/2/64 Far Cry 3 Many more but this is all I can think of, if you have another game reply if you feel like doing so.
Coop is great for easily leveling up. Kinda destroys the effort of grinding but if you’re getting destroyed by long time players then it’s a good way to level the field.
@@punctuationman334 huh leveling up doesn't do anything for your hero. Other than open up star cards. But they really aren't needed. Learn to block and use timing.
@@sw1000xg you get skill points every time you level up. You spend the skill points on star cards to make them stronger. Stronger star cards mean stronger abilities. Please explain how leveling up doesn't do anything for your hero
“To me, everything feels a little overpowered when I’m using it.” This, this right here is why I love Battlefront 2, whether you’re a hero or a regular trooper when you see a Death Trooper or a Commando Droid on a field you don’t think much of it, you may be cautious of them, yes, but they look and act as if they were standard reinforcements and nothing really too special. But when the roles are reversed, the feelings are so much different. The feeling of being a Droideka and rolling across the halls of the Dreadnought with another buddy feels straight from the movies, in those moments I _see_ myself and this other Droideka, who is just some person I don’t know, as the same ones that forced Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to retreat in Phantom Menace. Yes, simply just running with other reinforcements can make me feel powerful, that’s how magical this game is to me.
We also never got a Galaxy Conquest mode. People may say that this game is good now (and it is look good by what Act man showed), but it will never wash off from my mouth. EA and Dice sucked all my good will.
Gotta be honest, while this video does make me curious to try Battlefront 2 after abstaining for so long, the presence of any Sequel material is still enough to make me seriously question supporting it.
Can't believe I didn't see this video for so long, but hearing Act Man talk about battlefront 2 in such a positive light has left a big smile on my face. Balance has been restored to the force.
@@spacetaco2792 There's a decent resurgence thanks to the kyber servers allowing people to do things with the game they haven't been able to before. Look up battlefront 2 kyber and you'll see what I mean. That is, if you're on PC. If you're not.. probably not worth the time to play it on console.

I remember playing Supremacy with buddies at my place, asked if they could try so I said “Sure! Right after this game!” Not joking that game took 3h to complete because both teams were so well balanced…
Annoys me though that this game caters to the clone wars, gives some attention to the (god awful) sequels and nothing to the original trilogy era, there isn't even a ship boarding action for the OT supremacy making it pointless to play.
I mean it makes sense that the rebels don’t have a capital ship invasion since they usually use cells or just jump out with their snub fighters instead of using a carrier Personally I think have a lot of clone wars stuff makes sense given the show expanded it’s audience and gave us s good amount of planets to work with (also clone are the best unit to make skins for since every legion of easily identifiable and has a lot of canon colourations and designs while storm and first order troopers get forced into indentical armour inside of some specialists and the rebels are generic people in camo, pilot suits or generic uniforms (and the resistance is just rebels with a new coat of paint) Maybe we could have gotten more OT stuff if it survived into the Disney + era of Disney with mando inspired skins

Northie I totally agree, I had to start from level zero and now almost all classes have purple cards, all specials have purple from just playing co-op. by far the best for ranking I’m also glad that dice made co-op worth playing.
EA: We guess this game flopped. Our, Sorry... Dice's strategy didn't work, lets just ignore this game and put our focus on something else. Dice: Quick, satan's gaze is somewhere else lets make this game good, since no one plays it nobody will notice how good we can make it. 6 months later EA: Are you kidding me! You have removed all the trademark EA *Features*. You will be punished for this. We are cutting all support for this game, you all will now have to work on battlefield now, or get fired. And next time, don't you dare make good games again...
I’m glad they Fixed and improved the game, but how many times are we gonna let EA get away with this? Releasing a broken, or unfinished game and then adding updates with new content years down the road. Bf3, bf4 and battlefront 2 all came out and were very unsatisfying at launch, but were improved throughout a few years. Now all of these games are pretty great. I’m not mad that they stuck with them, I just wish they were released with all the content we have for them now.
BF3 never got any better it was same just with more content latest patch they released was before Close Quarters...After that no more patches just DLCs giving out since that was promised with Premium
@@sosamanotf642 It partly is though, but it's understandable. EA doesn't have a duty to the gamer; it has a duty to the shareholder. Delaying a game will only cause projected revenue to fall, and therefore stock value. So, EA will push a studio to release a game, even if in a poor state, in order to boost performance and help drive an increase in stock value thus appeasing the investors and allowing the CEO's to keep their job. And this will buy them the years they need in order to fix the game and push other things like micro-transactions. Bring old players back with a new update and hit them with new skins to purchase.
"Heroes are overpowered" This puts me in mind of when the Friday the 13th game came out. Like, some folks were genuinely ticked off that Jason was "unbeatable". Have you SEEN the movies??? That's kind of his whole character. I only ever got away clean one time and was rescued last minute one time. Every other time, Jason got me and it was still some of the most fun I'd had in years simply because it felt true to the source. Jason SHOULD win most of the time because that's what Jason does. Sorry for this absolute tangent. But while I didn't play much Battlefront 2, I get the sentiment when people start railing against overpowered heroes. Sometimes you just gotta take the L and laugh.
And I don't get why some people think heroes are unkillable, like yeah in a 1v1 you're done for but with 3 or more players by you you can melt people like ice cream in the summer
Your argument is flawed tho. Games aren't supposed to be like movies, they should aim for some sort of balance. Why Rey in Battlefront 2 is so underpowered hero then? She should have a Mary Sue plotarmor at least 2500 health and 99% damage resistant then. Why Anakin is weaker than OP tank Vader the noobslayer the eziest character to play? Ofc people are complaining about balance issues because no game will ever be perfectly balanced. But when its hero vs villain it should not be like pick Obi to block forever and regenrate your health always back or tank Vader to just spam around and get easy hits because he locks to enemies ez bz. Personally I have overcame lots of balance issues by just getting good at the game myself. But just stating that your agrument is flawed if the thing was that games are supposed to stay true to source materials even if it means lots of unbalanced matches.
True, the game should have heroes that are way more powerful than the average character. However if you are smart and properly set yourself up just about any class with some high ground positioning and a good loadout and maybe some knowledge of their opponent can win a 1v1
Hell yeah Rey was not my favorite still isn’t if you had to asked me my favorite female character definitely will be Cortana from the Bungie Halo games.

The act man and the zan man in one video. "I've been looking forward to this" Btw... I likes the game since it was released for the gameplay. Got bored of it a few months by that time and tried it again recently and it was super fun.
This might sound crazy coming from a big Star Wars fan, but I didnt really like the KOTOR games :/ Even on the easiest difficulty, it was still a bit challenging if you went against certain characters. Like in KOTOR 2, whenever you went into the under city place on the 2nd mission, it was still challenging whenever the first person you play against had a dagger that did a good amount of damage. And sometimes, whenever you spend some of your credits, it takes a little while to even find enough credits to buy a powerful weapon to get you past a certain part. And if you've already cleared out a level, and you didnt level up, and you cant upgrade your security attribute, you cant open some doors to get some materials you need, like more credits. :(
