It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ru-vid.comUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
SBC ...The devil is in the detail! It looks amazing. I speak from first hand renovations ourselves. Scott renovated our previous house from a 40 something year old kitchen , sunroom and deck to a modern clean look ,including beautiful Kauri floors which had also been hidden for 40years!👍😎well done Scott.
I'm a bench joiner in the U.K. Made tons of traditional box frame sliding sash windows but I have to say that kiwi way of hiding the weights behind the architrave instead of boxing them in and cutting in pockets is spot on! Makes any future remedy work a lot easier too I imagine!
Thing I love most about carpentry is spending 45 mins at the end of every day without fail... packing away every single tool I own, back into my truck. Never gets old!!🤦♂️
The “Finish” stage... The most time consuming & tedious work; but also one that makes the job “pop” with detail👍🏻 Also, it’s the home stretch for completing the job, & everyone gets the “rush, second wind, etc” of being finished & than it’s off to the next😉 ✌🏼
I love watching your videos but I’m hearing impaired and RU-vid is dropping the ball on closed captions :(, haven’t been able to watch your last few videos
The finish is the best part of the job you get to see the results of all the hard work and sweat that was applied, when it comes together no better feeling in this trade plus its time to move on to another one. Thanks bruh ive enjoyed watching your content.
What would be a great video would be a show of every tool you have including all the small ones like the paint remover tool that look like a raser as you have such knowledge on them all
Scott, You outdo yourself every time. Your videography of Auckland is stunning. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle should be the new slogan for the world to follow-especially here in the wasteful USA. 🍻
Most ? towns and cities in NZ have a 3 bin system for domestic waste - green , recycle ( paper, cans and some plastic) and rubbish , and use this slogan. I live in a rural community and the local authority provide a service using adapted shipping containers in a central location, for recycling glass, paper and plastic/cans.
@@markgilchrist860 That’s great. In Texas, it is all rubbish unless you take the initiative to drive to a recycling center and pay extra for the county to accept it. There is no community composting it just goes to the landfill. Thanks for taking time to enlighten me.
ive binged ep 201 to whats this 251? in 3 days while this is a great channel and its filling the void ive been missing out on in the uk during lockdown luckily i go back to work monday so i can be on the tools again but this has been a nice pick me up well done scott
Hello Scott and team. Very interesting, reproducing federation or buildings from a different era. When natural resources and standards of living were different. The arcitrave around the doors and windows looking like a detail line, or parting beads. 🎎
Interesting detail features whoever built that originally had a vivid imagination. Not sure I like a lot of the ideas but different and makes a change from the norm. I agree if you are leaving such examples in place in some of the rooms then it is best to match them in the new work for continuity. That doesn't seem to happen a lot here in Oz and to me makes for a miss match. Not sure how you manage to walk around all day with a full respirator on just doing fit out. For me they make me hot very quickly my whole body temp races up as I struggle for breath. I think part of it is a panic mode but I certainly couldn't use them like you do but then I am already old and have breathed in everything over 40 years on site including tons of Asbestos so too late for me.
199.000 subscribers :) nice to see that the extra work of making and editing the videos is paying off. Love your content, keep it up; greetings from germany
I’m excited to see it all when it’s finished. You guys have such a different build style than what I’m used to in west Texas custom homes but I’m not knocking ya!!
A good afternoon fellow new Zealander..loving your videos..ive just started woodworking myself since lockdown...is there any other new Zealanders that have a RU-vid channel...im hungry to learn...so far ive Purchased a few tools and also made a workbench lol hungry to make more ...les
I've always wanted to make a youtube channel documenting my companies work and making videos like this and all the other youtube carpenters I view. I'm completely slammed with paperwork and estimates every night just to keep up. May I ask for any tips on continuing to stay productive on the job and after hours to film and edit your work? I feel like if I tried to do videos on top of what I already do, my operation would fall apart!! I feel like I'm missing something obvious!
Paerau making a packed lunch ... On the job 😄🍐🍑🍐 Should we assume the gaudy wallpaper is the remaining original parts of the building, everything else is new ;+)
That 10mm sticky-out thingy is gonna make a great dust collector...😂 Whats the std. ceiling height over there ? I'm refurbing an old stone farm cottage here on the west coast of Ireland (diy) & I'm lowering all the ceilings to 8' 2" (for convenience) ... I'm insulating all walls (external AND internal)with std. 8 x 4 sheets insulated plasterboard... I'm building a studded wall stepped away from the original ext/int. stone walls , filling the void with foil-backed 25mm insulation for a complete thermal break, filling the 3x2 studded wall cavities with 3" foil-backed rigid then 1" insulated plasterboard for a second thermal break . There is 8" of foil-backed rigid insulaion above the new ceiling joists.. I can only put a 1" rigid insulation board on the floor plus 18mm ply ( I'm constrained by the door opening heights) Full re-plumb.. Full re-wire.. I also ground ( using a 5" diamond-faced grinding disc) all the old paint off the outside walls as using a pressure washer was gouging the lime render 🙄😂 I fitted air vents through the 2 foot thick external walls in all rooms... At 62y.o. I'm starting to run out of steam 😂 but I'm nearly there.. 😎👍☘️🍺
Beautiful Craftsmanship! Would hate to be your Drywall Finisher..... Trim Out Trim PRIOR to Sanding Drywall isn't worth 😕 showing up for EVER!!! But you do it a lot !!!!!
So was this an advertisement for little giant ladders? Haha the steps are in every shot! Do you rate the 6ft king combo? Was tossing up between that and the Bailey 3-1. Both at $400aud.
The 2.0 king kombo has just been released, look that up first before you decide. Not sure when we will see it down under. Typically I bought this king kombo and then saw the new one, bugger.
Any online shopping link to the roundover plane / block plane used at 2:46 and 4:10? Provided by Gaston from PiranhaTools maybe (piranhatools.co.nz/collections/woodworking/handplane)?
