The Fish of Corio Bay

Today we are fishing Corio Bay. There are a large number of fish species that live in Corio Bay, including Snapper, Snook, Flathead, Salmon, and Sharks. We set out to catch as many as we could, using soft plastic lures. Hope you enjoy the Video.

Yah, Wes, it was pretty good. We actually dropped one at the boat, that would have been the 6th species of the day.

Love the soft plastic fishing, tried many times but no real success - what’s the main key to success ? Always find I’m drifting to fast, or maybe just not getting enough fish to be confident. Any spots I could try to catch some flatties to get this moving?

Clifton springs spoil grounds are alway good for flathead. Get a drift sock to slow the drift down.

Some great fishing to be had in Corio bay and it'll only continue to get better now the pros are out. Nice video show-casing some of what is on offer.

Paul Foot, that’s excellent! I know some of the local fisherman complain about them, but I think they are awesome creatures. They generally give at least one good run too.

Awesome stuff mate, I regularly fish off Corio Bay and have had great success there. We go there with a Quintrex Renegade 420 and have no trouble even when the wind picks up a little well worth putting up with some chop.

Yeah, it’s a great spot, the one place in port Phillip that you can almost always find a spot out of the wind.

Nicholas Tu, it’s from the USA, you can’t get them in Australia. People love the look of that rod, I get so many people asking about it. It’s from a store called Cabelas, and it’s a medium light tourney trail 6’6” spin rod, it’s under $100. You might be able to order it online.
