This really illuminated a vague feeling I'd had about how 'events' no longer seem to have any facts or substance. We're just given a few talking points and then we react to each other's reactions until we're fed something new, and yesterday becomes meaningless because it was never really about whatever actually took place.

Very interested in the way many sources and commentators I am familiar with are looking to Lovecraft for similes. Today is insane and most people are insane, but is that a natural God world reaction to society becoming digitised and social media in a society that is not equipped or smart enough to handle it? Or has our reality really ‘skipped a track’ between our past course and a new one? For me, the world skipped a track on 9/11, the sky hasn’t ever looked the same since. But then, on Nov 5 21 in Houston, a gateway was opened into this reality from somewhere else and this reality was shaken to its core, and the ‘wrong seasons’ feeling mentioned has accelerated without brakes. Maybe we are now in the rule of new yet ancient forces on the reality we currently inhabit as we hurtle down this final straight in the race.

@Fellow Æthelweard Although it is trivial to hear fictional analogies, one must think of our current predicament to that of Isildur’s failure to cast the Ring of Power into the fires of Mount Doom. We are living with the consequences of complacency/corruption from our recent ancestors. Though we may fail in our endeavour, I believe it is imperative that we continue the fight for the sake of our descendants.

All the while, the incessant unmelodic music continues..

Postmodernity has come and gone, hypermodernity has subsumed reality. We were better off when everything was cynical and coated in irony. Those times at least allowed some form of dissent, even if it was distorted. Now dissident viewpoints are lost on most individuals who are encapsulated within the hyperreality. We used to live in the desert of the real, which has now been nuked and we live in the fallout. Thanks for the video, my man.
@seanoneil277

Evan -- if you scour the webz for David Foster Wallace's thoughts on "postmodernism" and the over-plenty of irony, and also for whatever passes for his "final thoughts" found written some time before he killed himself, you'd find that he was thinking along the same lines as your comment, when considering his own place within the culture and how he felt alienated from it -- enough to be existentially pained. Wallace's work was categorized, packaged & sold by his publishers' PR men as "post-modernism" and like other bright, intelligent writers before him (Wm Gaddis, perfect example and a hero to Wallace) couldn't measure up to the writer's idiosyncratic briliance and needed to have a PR label. Just like they'd done with "cyberpunk" and afterward with "steampunk." Soul killers whenever they get the chance, and they never shy away from seeking such chances.

All politics in the USA in the post-nynahleaven era are mediated entirely by Hollywood's multimedia vectors -- teevee shows, movies, music. Most Americans, at this stage of American history, treat fully fictional teevee shows as if they are fully-vetted legitimate documentaries. No wonder CGI is so heavily used. Do we really think any video footage during this kooky yooky era is legitimate when CGI images are treated by most fools as reality? And anyone so taken-in by Hollywood will have a very hard time seeing that their politics have been pre-formed by Hollywood programming. They think anyone deviating from the Hollywood script is a "domestic terrorist," for cryin' out loud.

Yes, escape to a world that exists no more. Hide from the battle outside your window; dream of alternate worlds, or living in the far distant past like some sexless neet in an a generic isekai where everything's perfect, where you or your children certainly wouldn't just one day vanish from the plague or an infected, stubbed toe. Better to hide in a simple world rather than face the circumstances before you, huh? Why fight and work with the tools you so eagerly spit at? Why do anything, when you can cower and cry instead of working for what you're owed? You've only got one chance at life, and this is how you're presently spending it. If you can't even begin to try to help yourself, you don't deserve to be helped by anyone. You are one brick among many in the giant wall of cowards that's holding us back. No, don't try and make connections with your friends. No, don't build a network of skills and utilities, making the most of the scenario around you, side-stepping the walled off environments of social media ; just hide! Give up and hide. You don't deserve a peaceful future since you won't face to the bl00dshed and metaphorically fight for it, so I suppose it's probably best you just hide in a long gone past. The past is all you look towards and work for, so naturally the dust and all its other remains of this past is frankly all that you deserve.

15:14 "In an age of hyperreality, the realist is king" -- I was going to say that I think this is a slip, but I get it now. But obviously Mearsheimer is not very mainstream, and I don't feel much like a king despite hoping I am among the realists here. As you say later, it's hyperreality vs. reality, and hypperreality seems to be "in charge" (however chaotic of a force it is). But again, the analogy works. Also, 16:18 -- such a great line. I think my very favourite line is the more cryptic opening of the same story: "Nyarlathotep . . . the crawling chaos . . . I am the last . . . I will tell the audient void. . . ." It is followed directly by the paragraph that Morgoth quotes from here. I'm posting it in full, because why not. It would be even more relevant if most people really felt what would perhaps be the appropriate sense of dread (our childish leaders behaving as they do in the face of a nuclear power), and were willing to admit our own (certainly the West's) "monstrous guilt": "I do not recall distinctly when it began, but it was months ago. The general tension was horrible. To a season of political and social upheaval was added a strange and brooding apprehension of hideous physical danger; a danger widespread and all-embracing, such a danger as may be imagined only in the most terrible phantasms of the night. I recall that the people went about with pale and worried faces, and whispered warnings and prophecies which no one dared consciously repeat or acknowledge to himself that he had heard. A sense of monstrous guilt was upon the land, and out of the abysses between the stars swept chill currents that made men shiver in dark and lonely places. There was a daemoniac alteration in the sequence of the seasons-the autumn heat lingered fearsomely, and everyone felt that the world and perhaps the universe had passed from the control of known gods or forces to that of gods or forces which were unknown." -- from "Nyarlathotep" by H. P. Lovecraft

We can't draw breath to reflect on all that ahs been going on for (in my estimation) the last 8 years or so. As Rob points out it this overloading technique which puts the subject in to a highly suggestible state. American network teevee got radicalized in that era, and I was old enough to witness the broad-band pushing in American culture of hippie culture values, "unisex" clothing and cologne/perfume, "unisex" haircuts, mainstreaming porn, "head shops," "flower power." Rowan & Martin's "Laugh-In," a very popular show, was trippy-hippy in its presentation. Pop & rock music got trippy, relative to just prior to the full flush of the Vietnam war. We can also see shifts in the WWtwo era. So it really depends on at what micro-level of these revolutionary changes one wants to look.

You have a great talent for poetically conveying and distilling the complete inversion of our reality. My particular favourite was the comparison between the American General and a Roman legate facing the madness of his civilisational decay. Fortunately for the Roman, he still had a semblance of a traditional order and world to return to once his empire fell. Who can say what lies in store for us beyond the horizon, after the 'end of history'? Francois Baranger has just released the second illustrated volume of 'At the Mountains of Madness' in English, and I am reminded of the protagonists companion, Danforth, tempting one last look over his shoulder at the fabled nightmare plateau of Leng, and being driven utterly insane at what he saw beyond those peaks.

Excellent video. I wrote but did not send an email to you on this topic of institutional power. We on the dissident right have voices (people) but not institutions. Institutions can do research and analysis without having to rely on making popular videos and they can also handle multiple objectives: demographics and medical issues at the same time. I felt your frustration that so many on the dissident right were stuck talking about demographics and not doing research into the medical issues. And the answer to that is we need institutions that can do deeper research on multiple topics rather than just relying on non-institutional voices repeating popular topics to their audiences. Keep up the good work.

Although there are a few such institutions, such as the Abbeville Institute or the Mises Institute, anything that directly opposes the Ruling Elite's myths will be relentlessly attacked in a variety of ways. It's much harder for an institution to go under the radar than an individual, and resolving this conundrum is a challenge. Why have UNESCO's programs been in the federation's school system since the 90's? Why does Dugin say that he believes gender is just a social construct if he's so traditional? So many questions to ask, but the right is buying it all hook line and sinker just like they did with Trump because "he has all the right enemies!" which gives him martyrdom status, even though his media smear campaign will only get him more followers from the "if the mainstream says it's bad then it must be good" people. I spend a lot of time writing on this, and I think the real issue here is who holds the monopoly on critical thinking in society. This would be institutions such as government, MSM, and schools. These hold the monopoly because of how much time and space is available to and devoted to critical thinking and mastering writing, which far outpaces the majority of the public. The public on the other hand is too tied up with work, and raising their families, and thinks too much off the cuff. Also, with these institutions being so suited to critical thinking and collecting information, they build up the reputation that they should be able to know what's best for us. Yes, but just as equally they are the prime targets for subversion and corruption. This is where it will happen, and more likely to happen with Democracy and with how much the public's level of thinking is outpaced by the institutions. So, if there's one place that would be spreading falsehoods, is likely you institutions, especially the government. Your government is the top place this will happen with how much power is seated there. And with this being the monopoly, things like MSM, political leaders, and the radio and television become God or our brains. A look through the WW2 era and Civil Rights era is a great demonstration of this. The public loses their minds to it, just as they are now. How to counter this, I suggest a return to writing. I think our problem is that we all think too much off the cuff, and here can not articulate and refine our arguments anywhere well enough to properly challenge the regime were under. With writing though, you can far more quickly and accurately connect, retain, and manage your train of thought. You can put it all under a microscope, and work your arguments through until you know your are correct. This is where you will do your best work, and this is where the greatest minds have done there best work. This is where the greatest minds needed to go to achieve such greatness, and where we will need to go, to overpower this system. I think this applied on mass will not help us lose our minds, but find them. And I have no doubt, this would work fast. Here, the woke nonsense will end. Here, the GAE will end.

I absolutely agree, reminds me of a few ideas. First being the idea that free will does not exist and you are scarily alot less in control of your daily life, opinions and core functionings. Second would be an idea i funnily enough got from robert smith of the cure from a 1981 interview where he discussed how hes never had a job due to being in a band etc and how he thinks when you do get a job of any sort it turns your life into a financial survival situation and slowly shuts off the deeper parts of your personality as you assimilate into the working man/woman and how this results in people losing their good taste in things for things that are 'good enough' essentially, he does say he thinks its possible to avoid it but you have to try and break away from the monotony and mind sterilisation of work and work out your thoughts, opinions and ideas like you would your muscles. robert i think viewed as a leftist but ive never heard a bad take from him of any sort.

Absolutely. I've been mulling this over for a while as well after a needlecraft related discussion went wrong this Christmas, wronger than normal. I can't help but think that if I had given people a slow drip of word-crystallized information over time instead of doing it in person and all at once than the drama could have been avoided. We actually do have the better arguments logically, empirically, morally, and so we need not fear putting them in definite written form. Speaking in person, and especially with more than one person at a time, leaves too many doors open for BS to thrive. People can so easily just ride the waves of emotional association and use all sorts of human-all-too-human tactics to prop up their lack of knowledge, understanding, and good sense. On paper it's like "here is the statement" and "here is the second statement which anticipates common reactions" and "here is the granular analysis" and "here is the big picture" etc. etc. etc. And as you said, you can at a certain point know that you are correct, and I would add that it is way harder for others to deny.
