The Force Awakens Hasbro Millenium Falcon review - Toy Polloi 

Its a shame Han never knew there was a big dumb Nerf cannon in his ship. He could have put the Death Star's eye out.

Kenner: We really do care. Hasbro: We really don't care.

Hasbro should've stuck to old school. Adding a Nerf system to this ship was a waste. If only 3rd party can create a square radar dish to fit the kenner version, that'll be great.

For what they were charging, they could have reissued the one from 2008.

I think kids in the future won't look back on this falcon like we do with the original falcon.

I feel that Hasbro has dropped the ball ever since they stopped producing their Vintage Collection figures. Everything seems more expensive & the quality of the plastic, head sculpts, paint apps & even thei 6 inch figures are a bit disappointing.

Kenner in 1979 managed to outdo Hasbro in 2016. This looks so much worse than the vintage one in every way! The light grey plastic alone turns me off! The Legacy Collection one was a masterpiece and a real improvement on the vintage one, but this just seems so much worse than the vintage.

Thanks for sharing - Truly terrible - even at the reduced cost it's hard to justify - cheap mass produced tat - how upset would any purchaser be if they'd payed full price!!!

Got mine on rollback at Walmart for my son's birthday for $79.99. He loves it. The nerf gun, action sounds and play value are good for a seven year old. May not be great for hardcore collectors of Star Wars, but give it to the kids, they'll love it. Finding figures to help my kid get a nice selection is been a challenge. Too much hoarding play things that were meant for children. Thanks for sharing.

I must have a revised version, as the top part never pops up on it's own, and the quad cannon sounds are totally different. It sounds like the movie ones.

A better solution of BB-8 would've been to put a magnet in its head and make the body metal

I have the 90s Power of the Force Falcon but I'm thinking about buying the, I think it was OTC, that was the last use of that old Kenner mold but also added a removable console in the cockpit and made it a little deeper so modern figures would fit inside a little better, and added actual engine lights in the back, along with some other minor improvements, I think the back section cover and the boarding ramp have additional latches so they close a bit more securely as well. This honestly doesn't seem too bad in terms of play value, but it's definitely barely worth £40, let alone £120.

Screen accurate or not, they got the Falcon right the first time round. The first re-release in 95 did a good job because they didn't change too much but didn't include the training remote for some reason. When all is said and done i think i'll stick to the vintage. I was looking at one of these, i'm glad i didn't get one now.

Great review. After purchasing the Legacy Collection Falcon, I've avoided the other Falcons released afterwards.

Is it the same size as the Kenner Falcon? could you possibly donate parts and the sound effects from this to an old crippled Kenner Falcon?

Time to customize/fix some parts of this. I think you could do great things with this, I'm interested in seeing you fix the troubles of it, because I saw on FB you have already taken it apart.

Even as a kid I didn't like these sort of toys with giant over-the-top cannons and such. I always wanted toys that were screen accurate so I could replay the scenes.

Got mine at a car boot sale in Wales for £2, this toy has too many unecassery gimmicks to justify the price tag. They seem to price them for collectors rather than for children. The original figure line I could afford with my £1.50 pocket money, now they're about £12! Rediculous

not worth the money!,even for 40 pounds i still think the kenner original or the potf version is better.if you want sound fx you can get the hasbro rerelease of the kenner one that have sound fx

100% agree with your review. For freaking $120, that engine better light up with LEDs in the back! They produced the FAR superior BMF (Big Millennium Falcon) for around the exact same price. It was HUGE, featured amazing electronics, even had an opening entrance ramp with a fully-lit engine and headlights, including cockpit interior lights as well. THAT was the height of Hasbro's ingenuity and fan-service. You covered all the CONS of this ship well, but it's just doesn't surprise me to see all the corners Hasbro keeps on cutting. They had an infinite amount of time before the release of the movie to get their toys right and they chose less articulation, crappier sculpting and plastics, lame cardbacks and artwork and inexplicably threw NERF into everything rather than include cool electronic features like most companies do in 2016. It's just a general and overall regression in the greatest of toy lines and I can't be more displeased with the company's mishandling of such a classic and cherished line. I won't buy anything from Hasbro now.

After seeing this I'm very glad I still have my vintage Falcon, in the new I like the colors and stickers and if I wanted to I could replicate them in my vintage ship, so the only that looks nice it's the new interior... and NO LANDING GEAR !!!????

I don’t get the whole cannon gun popping up from the ships shell. This didn’t happen in the movie .

I heard another problem with this toy is unlike the original Kenner version, your figures cant fit standing up when put the roof back on.

Hasbro should have rereleased the Legacy Falcon from a few years ago. It was superb and worth the money, it would have been toy of the year! This is awful, if someone gave me this for free I still would have hated it.

great reivew , glad you didn't pay full price for it but I still think £40 was pushing it too. honestly £26 probably would of been a reasonable price point for it

The sculpt is good. Regarding the NERF Bullets that came with it. (Even though I'm not a big fan of NERF stuff on Star Wars toys) They could of added more Nerf bullets for the Original retail price. Those bullets are not expensive. Hasbro has kinda cheaping out with everything lately. Kinda makes me sad. If I may add, retail of that toy in my part of the world was 5,000 Philippine Pesos. It would be roughly over $100 US.

Would it have killed them to include Rey? I mean, she actually FLEW the Falcon.....Is the cockpit in scale with the rest of the model? Looks a bit large?

its shocking that a company like disney or hasbro who are meant to be all about the kids would let something this bad be released.. this comes down to the classic "its just for kids they won't care" this toy would have annoyed me as a kid and i'd have ended up permanently sealing down all those pop up parts and probably not using the sound effects since i used to liked doing the sound effects myself. also it might just be me but the scale of those figures is all off.. even as a kid it would have bothered me.. they should be more like 3 inch or 2 inch figures.

gotta say despite the flaws, if i find it cheap enough in the states, I'll get one, mostly because i need a falcon for my collection

My mate owns a shop he had to sell these off at a steep discount just to get rid of them he no longer stocks any force awakens toys because they are overpriced and poor quality the nerf darts were the last straw

More Force Awakes toys oh dear Dave, you should watch your older videos and practice what you preach "Am not going to buy any more Force Awakes toys". lol good review any way. The middle section always popping up doesn't happen on mine wonder if there is a fault with yours. Know a lot of people had problems with the nerf gun not firing.

I saw this on Amazon for 45 quid, but didn't buy it because of reviews criticizing the inability for the figures to be able to stand up within the toy when it was closed up.

I got this on clearance and I too think the nerf gun is a ridiculous addition that's resources could have been used better in the toy.But the Deluxe Falcon is too big so It looks like this is the one for me.

It really poor quality, it's like they've taken one of the old micro machine play sets from the 90s and just enlarged it. I've see KO toys of better quality. Not that I'd ever buy it, but I wonder if you could use any of it to mod a Kenner or pof falcon to make it more force awakens accurate, eg the deflector dish. Though £40 is a bit expensive for a mod ha ha

The best toy company went under (Kenner) shame . Mattel and Hasbro just care about profit , really bad quality in that falcon , I took back my X wings and got a refund .

the same man who designed this falcon, Mark Boudreaux, also designed the original.

As goofy as the firing missiles are, I have to admit it looks like this has more actual play value in the section meant for figures than the vintage/PotFII Falcon toys I grew up with and would I have loved that aspect as a kid. (on the same front this cockpit works much better for two figures than the original mold did for PotFII figures)

That thing is horrible. You think with today's manufacturing equipment they could have made a more accurate toy with the passenger compartment in the correct area and those ridiculous 'gun' are just plain stupid. It might as well be one of those baby star wars toys with the oversized figures that ride on the outside. I gave up collecting figures about a decade ago cause I have been so disappointed in the designs that are out now. Even the Lego Falcon is better than this. And the DeAgostini model kit is so amazing compared to this that I couldn't even take one of these if it was given to me for free.
