I'm halfway through the video and decided to buy the game myself, The FIRST thing I did was switch the controls so they weren't inverted so I could use the trombone dot as my cursor and follow that to nail a lot of the notes. I did Warm-up, Zarathustra, God Save The King, Sakura, and Ball Game all with S rank on first try.

A second tip, you can hold down the note to play multiple notes in one breath, just make sure you give your character a breath when you can

YES! please continue this series, you and Dan have such a fun dynamic. And it would be great to see Dan on the couch for games other than this too. Same with Tom it's always fun to have an extra guest on the couch even though you and Ash are great together the more the merrier right.

Fun fact about Stray, if anyone decides to play it: I’m fairly certain that most of the plants at the beginning of the game are garlic mustard plants! What’s cool about this is that they’re highly invasive in the U.S and other places in /close to the Americas- implying that, without human intervention, they were allowed to grow out of control and block out a lot of other plants. I’m not sure if this was intentional, but the two plants look very similar if you look closely, and I think it’s very interesting :)

I find the easiest way to deal with confusing language, is to change the words. “Not stop in stoping the story” turn “not stop” into “continue”, making the phrase “continue in stopping the story”

I love that this game is going so hard on the Dark Souls riff. Ben and Tom being analogs to Frampt and...the other one, that line in the opening about "Someday you will stand" etc., the whole set up of a natural order being somehow upended by forces who think they know better. It hits just the right balance of having enough serious LORRRE and substance to keep you digging, but being silly enough to enhance the tone of the game.

Not really a trombone anime, but there is Hibike (Sound) Euphonium that is about an euphonium player and the band in general. I found myself relating a lot to that show and it’s by Kyoto Animations. One of my favorite studios and deserves all the love. You should check it out.

I have never questioned MatPats intelligence BUT! He said aperture in the witty banter opening (when Dan was buzzing his lips). But he meant embouchure. Aperture is what allows light to go through the eye. Embouchure is the mouth shaping when playing an instrument. I just know he’ll appreciate the correction (or he’ll blacklist my comment for the rest of time) and I get to feel like I’m smart enough to hang around MatPat (not Steph tho. I’m a theatre major, failing chemistry😂😂)

As someone who actually played Stars and Stripes Forever (the song at ~46:00) on trombone, I can concur it is not an easy song Also that the dude next to me loved it and had it memorized in a week. Also that 46:53 is an actual part that is a REAL trombone solo, of which your are RECOMMENDED to double tongue since it's a 16th note barrage.
